I'm so glad I went to the Eden bar for dinner and drinks before the movie at the Enzian theater. Located outdoors, the atmosphere is really neat given the garden view on the property. While service can be a little slow when it gets busy, the quality of drinks and food more than make up for it. The Pear and prosciutto flatbread was delicious as well as the many salad options there are to choose from. The bartender was able to tailor the taste of my cocktail to be less sweet and it came out perfectly! There are a few tables around the bar with some in the garden. There is also plenty of seating directly around the bar. Prices are average. Great spot for drinks, grab a bite to eat, whether going to the movie or not. This outdoor cafe is really cool. Make sure you go when the weather is nice. The bartender was also the only wait staff, but she did a decent job. I started with my standby drink, Vodka diet, and it was, good as always. We got the fries as an app and they were good. She even brought us more cheese when we asked. Then I had the salmon sandwich. I was surprised that it was a salmon patty, not a fillet. I didn't ask so I guess that is my fault. It would have been better as a fillet. Finally we finished with the cinnamon doughnuts and they were delightful. All in all this is a great place to catch up with a girl friend over dinner and drinks. I have visited Eden Bar a number of times and have had a whole range of experience ratings I feel like it deserves an extra half star. First I will enumerate the positive aspects: -beautiful setting nestled outside the Enzian theater -unique cocktail options -pretty good food for a bar -really nice atmosphere -fun crowd -nice staff And the negatives... -holy cow, it takes forever to get a drink. Not just once in a while, but every time I've been there it seems like we'll wait half an hour before we can give a drink order--best chance is at the bar rather than a table -those "unique cocktail options" I mentioned above include one of the nastiest drinks I've ever tasted, the "Smoke Root" consisting of "Corsair Triple Smoke Whiskey, Root Liquor, sugar cane syrup, and Angostura bitters, garnished with an orange peel"....treat yo'self to NOT try it. One of if not the best beer garden in the area! The Eden bar sits next to the enzian but offers a cool spot to hangout without wanting to see a movie. The bar is nestled in a side deck surrounded by tables all under a rooftop. Christmas lights intertwine through the garden tropical like setting of trees to show tables otherwise hidden by trees and their little fountain. The staff is extremely friendly. One of the reasons we go is because they allow dogs and our pup loves the staff and friendly folks that frequent. Drink: Screw pbr if your coming you may as well order a pint/carafe/ pitcher of awesome craft beer..last week we had both terrapin hopsecutioner and left hand milk stout. Plus it's more affordable that way 19$ for a pitcher of left hand worked out to nearly 4 glasses...not too shabby. Food: oh yum. Everything here is good. My husband gets the tacos evvvverytime. I've had nachos with tofu(yum), veggie burger from enzian(delicious home made I believe), most recently I had their grilled cheese and tomato soup... It was HUGE. I couldnt finish my whole sandwich which was filled with fontina cheese on some killer bread with totally totally delicious tomato soup(think paneras on steroids). DONT complain about the price. It's a not for profit theatre. It's independent. Everything is as locally sourced and seasonal as possible. That's why they hold free cult classics and do all that great cool stuff. I've NEVER felt like my experience/food/beer did not warrant my bill. I've been going to the enzian(since early2000) and Eden bar since it opened. This is an outdoor bar with pretty scenery. There's lots of parking however there's a movie theater right next to it. So the parking lot can fill up. There's lots of shrubbery so it was a little buggy but overall good bar vibe. They had a good grapefruit beer. read more

Eden Bar is one of those places I wish were closer so I could frequent it more than I do now (only a couple of times a year at most). Honestly, I think I would if we didn't have a young baby. Every time I go here, it's busy. Sometimes that's fun, but other times it is quite annoying only because in my head I want a super chill night with a friend or two, sipping beers/cocktails and eating good food. it's about 50/50 if we'll quickly get a table. This is a good problem for the business itself, as people seem to love coming here. I may just be a grumpy old man these days. But, I LOVE coming here for the good beers, and more correctly, the good food. It's a bit pricey for my liking - considering what you get. It's not that incredibly refined, but it's still quite good. I guess that's Winter Park for ya. I love that it's outdoors for the atmosphere. Plants and old trees galore. plenty of places to stand and mingle. They need more tables, but I'm not sure where they'd put them. It sucks on hot and/or rainy nights. But that's life in FLA. If service is slow, it's because it's so busy. The staff here are always super funny and nice, and they bust their butts. No joke. I always have a high level of respect for places like this where you can have a very demanding clientele, coupled with the fact that it's outdoors. Tempers can rise along with the Florida heat, but everyone seems to keep their cool. I always think about coming here, but never can justify driving all the way from our Lake Como home to essentially Maitland. But, now that I work in Winter Park, I have a good excuse and place to go for after work drinks! read more

My favorite place for Sunday Funday. The food here is all very good, the cocktails are unique, and when the weather is nice you can't beat sitting outside under the giant oaks. There are no TV's and they play a variety of classic and new alternative radio. It's the type of place that makes you sit back and enjoy the afternoon away from all the hustle of Park Ave.. Probably the best patio eating/drinking spot in the Orlando area- and lucky for me it's located next to my sons son's school! Happy hour gets you cheap appetizers like truffle fries (3$) or the Mediterranean trio (tapenade, hummus, babaganoush with pita-$5), the regular menu is tasty too with an assortment of sandwiches, flatbreads, snacks, entrees, and dessert, plus craft beers on draft, clever cocktails and decent wine. But where this place really shines is atmosphere. All outside, but covered from the frequent Florida showers, and it sits among tropical foliage with great music that's not too loud to talk to the bartenders or interesting people that tend to hang out. Eden Bar is a great place to enjoy the outdoors while eating some delicious food. They also have a nice list of cocktails, albeit a tad pricey, and a good variety of craft beers. The menu changes on a regular basis, yet they keep certain staples around all of the time, such as my boyfriend's favorite, the waygu beef burger. On Wednesday nights the Enzian features a free outdoor movie and Eden Bar has more bar food type specials, such as cheese steak and sausages...even the "bar food" is yummy. The staff is always friendly as is the crowd, but one warning don't come on Wednesday if you are in a rush as the place gets really packed and seating is quite limited. Now, I don't suggest avoiding Wednesday's altogether, just bring a blanket or some lawn chairs and plan to stay for the free film and maybe even some free Jell-O shots if you have a knack for movie trivia. read more

We love visiting the Enzian and have had very good experiences when attending film events and ordering food in the theater. But our experiences at the Eden Bar outside the theater has been underwhelming. The food is good and the drinks aren't bad, but the servers and bartenders have always done a fine job at ignoring us. Standing at the bar and waiting to catch a bartender's attention for 15 minutes has been disappointing. A simple "I'll be with you in a minute" would suffice. Same for table service. Lovely environment and atmosphere but the service leaves a sour taste in my mouth. read more

They were out of the soup I ordered. Usually a bad start but in this case a blessing. I subbed in the chilly with my Cuban sandwich. I have to say I'm happy I did real chilly all beef and real spicy flavor. Forget the great view and the fountain in the background. Eden bar is one of my favorite places to go for a craft drink. The atmosphere is amazing, you can sit outside at the bar and listen to great music while you order your drinks. They serve a full menu at the bar and the food is pretty legit. They also change their drink menu seasonally, so there's always something new and interesting to try. They always have a good beer selection and some classics (like my personal favorite the French 75). Eden Bar is a truly unique bar environment, even for Central Florida. The entire bar is outside, albeit 75% of it is covered. It is attached to one of Florida's most special locations, Enzian Theatre. It has a great horseshoe wrap around bar, which has a gorgeous backdrop mural designed by the great animator, Bill Plympton. If you want the busy, crowd vibe, seat yourself at the bar. You'll bask in the vibe of regular patrons mixing with film fans, some of which are having a cocktail prior to taking in the new indie film and others having emerged from a recent screening, arguing over the film, while enjoying wine and the great ambiance. Eden Bar does a great job of employing attentive and thorough servers and bartenders. Many regulars become acquainted with certain bartenders, even playing favorites and making sure to visit during their favorite's regular shift, be it Danielle or Peter or whomever they fancy. I always love a watering hole that has down to earth bartenders that not only sling great drinks but also provide great conversation. Several times a month, you can even catch an outdoor movie on Eden Bar's lawn, during their Wednesday Night Pitcher Show. The film genres run from classic 80s comedies to gory horror films to over the top action films. Every once in awhile, they host a Bad Movie Night, where they show a Craptastic film and invite the audience to hurl insults at the screen during the screening, ala Mystery Science Theater 3000. With all of these great comments, why does it only score a 4 instead of a 5? There are a couple of reasons. While Eden Bar is constantly providing a unique and changing lineup of craft cocktails, they are almost stagnant when it comes to their craft beer choices. Every once in a blue moon, they might get something different on draft or try out a new bottle choice or two, but typically their selection is always the same. Some of their standards are fine(and I enjoy them), such as Dogfish 90 min, Terrapin Hopsecutioner and Bell's Two Hearted. But if you are already doing business with said breweries, why not offer up some of their specialty and seasonal beers throughout the year? Terrapin Hopzilla and Bell's Hopslam are two beers that frequently pack craft beer fans into whatever establishment is pouring them. Dogfish is know for doing wild and crazy brews all the time, so maybe they could try out some of their unique suds every once in awhile. And I don't know why they stopped pouring Cigar City altogether, but that is an area with a built in local cult following. And they've got to address their prices for their beers. Paying almost $8 for 20 oz of 90 min IPA or Two Hearted is ridiculous when you can go up the street to numerous establishments and pay $5 for the same amount. The last thing that Eden Bar should take a serious look at: their Happy Hour times. Currently their Happy Hour goes from 11am to 5pm. Really? A lot of Happy Hours don't even BEGIN until 5pm. This is a big misstep on their part. A 4 to 6pm or 5 to 7pm would not only be a lot more accessible to the after work crowd but they could also capitalize on patrons popping in for drink prior to the 6:30pm screenings. The bottom line is this: you get a great outdoor environment which is served by a charming wait staff and bartenders that know their way around mixing up cocktails. You can have a heated discussion about the merits of a Malick film or the piss poor performance of the Orlando Magic as of late. You might even catch an outdoor screening of a fun film like Dazed & Confused or The Texas Chainsaw massacre. If you're a craft beer fan, expect to pay a little more for a limited selection. With some of the recent closure of Tom & Jerry's and the opening of an Ale House within a 2 minute drive, you could fare much worse. So pop into Eden Bar, order up a cocktail, strike up a conversation with your bartender and enjoy this little oasis in Maitland. read more

This is cool little bar next to an independent movie theater that shows a lot of old and non-hollywood films. The bar is outdoor with a lot of smaller couches around it for more intimate setting. The cocktails I tried were fantastic. The gin cucumber mojito is really refreshing, and that's saying a lot coming from someone who doesn't like any of those things separately. Cocktails will run you $9-12. The clientele seemed like mostly older folks almost a bit of a Key West feel to the crowd and bar. I love the Eden Bar. The food quality is great and the garden setting is beautiful. My primary complaint is the slow service. Only come here for lunch if you have time to kill, so unfortunately going during the workday is risky. The menu has options for vegetarians and meat-eaters, including pizzas, flat breads, salads, and sandwiches. I especially recommend the crab pesto flat bread and crab cake sliders. read more

Went here for lunch. It did seem a bit pricey for lunch, but everything is practically under $10, but it is "a la carte" and seating is outside. You can do a half/half special for $9 with either Soup, Sandwich or Salad, but with only 2 choices. I had the Cuban and Butternut Squash Soup. Both were good. The sandwich looked small to me, but I ended up being really full from it. Definitely would go here again to try their truffle fries. read more

I finally been got to try this place out and I wasn't disappointed. I got the chicken fingers and my girlfriend got the pizza. My chicken fingers were great I looked at them and they looked like nothing special but they put some spice in them that changes the way they taste, like nothing I've had before. Maybe our timing was off, we went during the film festival, but the service was awful, and the food was bad. We ordered caprese avocado appetizer. We waited 40 minutes, the waiter apologized and told us he would give us a discount, ten minutes later we finally got it. It was more like pizza than caprese and not an avocado to be seen. Such a unique venue. It has to be experienced in person. This is one of our favorite hangout spots! Excellent cabana terrace bar overlooking the gardens with ethereal Spanish moss draped oak trees and a fountain courtyard. The staff is exceptional.
