If you want to pay $5 f a washer that doesn't even have a setting for Delicates, this is the right place for you. They have plenty of space and newer machines. If, on the other hand, you're getting married in a couple of days and among other errands think you can wash your nice clothes and lacy lingerie before your wedding, go somewhere else rather than end up having to pull your clothes out of the washer in tears. Today I learned that not all laundromats allow you to control the speed to select among options such as Gentle, Normal, and Heavy Duty. We were here early morning after leaving Acadia before continuing on our cross country road trip. They had plenty of dryers and washers to get our laundry done. The one lady that was cleaning was super friendly after we screwed up and spilt a bit of our coffee from the shop in the parking lot, I offered to clean our mess of she gave me some napkins or something, but she just grabbed a rag and quickly cleaned up and then gave us napkins just in case. It's been a while since I've used a laundromat and so have no idea if this is a good deal or not, but the machines wash and dry fairly quickly. Unfortunately, we forgot two pairs of new Levi's and a pair of shorts when we gave them 15more min while we folded and stowed everything in the car. Alas we had already traveled to far when we realized we'd forgotten some of our clothes. read more

It was time for another laundry stop on our cross-country RV trip, and we selected Eden because - frankly - it was the only one in our travel path for days that didn't have some pretty scary sounding recent reviews. When we arrived at 9:30 on a Friday morning, there were about 5 other folks doing laundry, but plenty of machines free since there are simply so many of them there. First impressions were that this laundromat was particularly clean and tidy, with an attendant on-site to help/answer questions. WiFi was speedy (Speedtest measured 85 Mbps down, 11 up), and the restroom was clean. There were 4 sizes of washers available, with sizes marked somewhat obscurely as 2x, 3x, 4x, 6x (priced at $4, $5, $7, $9 respectively) instead of by pound capacity like we're used to seeing. The smallest machines were too small to fit our whites or colors, so we had to use a pair of the 3x machines (which look closer in size to 25-30 lb washer we're used to using elsewhere) instead. Although the 3x machines fit our loads comfortably, the spin cycle left the clothes noticeably damper than we're used to - particularly the socks in the white load, and the denim items in the color load. There are 2 sizes of dryers available as well, labeled similarly obscurely as 3x and 5x (where $0.25 will buy you 6 and 5 minutes respectively). The 5x looked the size we usually combine our loads into and can easily dry in 25 minutes, so we tried that here as well (it should be noted, perhaps, that 2 out of the 6 5x machines were out of order, and another one had a finicky control panel that we avoided using and another customer had to get help from the attendant to use). After 35 minutes, the socks and denim were still slightly damp (probably due to the insufficient spin cycles in the washers), but we just hung those up around the RV to finish drying. All in all, Eden was not a bad laundromat. The washer prices were higher than what we've become used to in other parts of the country, but seem on par with other places in the area (based on what's written in reviews). The reason for the 4 star instead of 5 star review was the insufficient spin cycle on the washers, requiring more time in the dryers to get the clothes fully dry. read more

This is a well maintained place that's also quiteroomy. The only thing I can complain is its price(which is a little high). Outside of he place there a a lot of places you can do quick shopping or a quick bite at. Inside the place there are benches, magazines, coin exchange and vending machines for your convenience. We did a big load of wash (just wash) for $9 which is pretty pricy. The owner/staff called the mall maintenance because I waited outside of their store with my dog. It was a rainy day, and my little dog wasn't barking. read more

We had been on a 5 day fishing trip and flew into Bangor on a float plane with bags of dirty clothes. We were headed to Bar Harbor and by 2:00 pm we were trying to find a wash and fold laundry. There are none in Bar Harbor and our search found Eden laundry in Ellsworth and we could drop off our laundry before Debbie (I believe that was her name) left at 4:00. She doesn't work on Saturday, but offered to do our laundry when she did hers on Saturday if we picked up before noon. What a deal. If you need excellent service in this area, this is the place to go. She was so accommodating and our clothes were perfect. Thank you so much for your service to strangers. Clean facility. Unlike some others, the machines do not take card or phone payments. Only quarters. But the quarter dispenser works for $1 to $20 bills. If you have jeans or heavy staff on the dryer put in at least 6 coins or $1.50. I used 5 and later found traces of dampness in the jeans. read more

This is an enormous space with lots of front-loading washers. The smaller ones are $3 per load and run 25 minutes. The smaller dryer (which are still enormous) are 25 cents per 6 minutes. The place was clean and I got through my 2 loads quickly. read more

My fiancé and I needed a place to wash some laundry after our stay in Acadia National Park. Eden laundry is roughly 20-30 minutes outside of the park and is located right on the way out. It's located conveniently by various stores and fast food restaurants nearby. Overall the laundromat is very clean inside, there are plenty of washer and dryers available, and the machines themselves are clean, quiet and efficient. I would defiantly stop by again. read more

This the nicest laundromat I've ever been in and as person to travels a lot, I've been in a lot of laundromats. Lots of machines, from big to small front load washers and lots of driers as well. Almost every single machine was in working order which is incredible. There are signs that tell you how long the wash cycle is and how many minutes per quarter for the driers. These are always the questions you have when you go to a new laundromat. Nice clean bathroom with paper towels available. Friendly staff who greeted me as I came in. Another plus, it is with in easy walking distance to a big grocery store so you can multitask. My kind of place! read more

Great, roomy laundry. You could wash a whole family's worth of clothes in one machine. Also, fluff and fold for $20/15pounds of laundry if you are busy. They have nice seating, friendly staff, bags for 25 cents to $1.00 (like for duvets) if you don't want to bring laundry baskets. Laundry & Dryer machines are new, quick, and do just what they are meant to, and then there are large island tables to sort and fold (or have the staff do it while you run to the grocery for some food, just remember to be kind and to tip!) read more

What a nice, clean, well-maintained place to do your laundry while on vacation. You can do a week's worth of clothes in an hour. The washers do a load in 24 minutes, and drying takes the balance of the hour, as long as you don't overload the dryer. The staff is friendly and helpful, and the facility is located in a strip mall with a grocery store with a really good salad bar and hot food section. Can't recommend highly enough. read more
