I am posting my complaint here in hopes that someone in management will finally take note of my missing item and make contact with me. On 6/11/25, I dropped off, in Ellsworth, a linen tablecloth I inherited from my grandmother in 1989. I returned a week later and was told it was not back yet and I would receive a call when it was ready. After no call, I went by the cleaners a week later. Then, I was told it was missing but they were looking for it. The third time I went by, I filed a claim on 8/1/25. At that time, I was promised a call by the next week. Still no call 2 weeks later so we stopped by again. The manager said they still had 2 locations to check with. Really??? Now, 8/29/25, still no contact, nearly a month after filing a claim and 11+ weeks from my drop off date! Professional? I don't think so. This is a very cherished, sentimental item, not a shirt that can be easily replaced. Sorry to resort to airing "dirty laundry" here but my patience is exhausted. read more

I rely on Gold's for all sorts of different needs - rug cleaning, clothes washing, as well as dry cleaning. The staff is always helpful & tries to respond to whatever cleaning problem with which I'm wrestling - usually it involves something to do with my cats. I'm really glad that Gold is near by and has terrific hours! read more

My family uses Gold Star when we need household linens and such laundered, and they always do a great job. I appreciate their quick turnaround, and our items are always ready when they say they will be. Plus it's only about $25 to get a chair cover deep-cleaned, which seems like a steal (from my city dweller perspective!). read more

Not impressed with this place at all. One of the girls there is very rude and gets into altercations with customers. I've also overheard them talking about their customers. Talking about who's a drunk and who they can't stand. Very uncomfortable to hear that as a customer. Tanning beds are ok. One wasn't cleaned one time though and there was someone else's sweat on the tanning bed. I've had friends who haven't gotten their dry cleaning back on time because it was lost. Just a very unprofessional place all around. read more

DO NOT GO HERE!!! Not even if it's an emergency. They don't get alterations back for a month. When I got what I needed back they didn't even put the patches on that I asked. In fact I actually found myself having a new patch that I don't even know how they got it. Never go to place!!! Never!!!!!!!! I had to go back just to get the patches I originally gave them to put on. The front desk lady was nice though. That's the only positive thing I have to say. read more

Best laundromat in Ellsworth! Cheapest, always someone there on staff to help unlike other places. Quick turn-around on drycleaning. Conveniently located near Walmart and Home Depot for shopping while you wash clothes. read more

DO NOT GO HERE!!!! Avoid this dry cleaner at all costs. Terrible customer service, don't give clothes back on time, poor job cleaning, and extremely rude!!! I would rather wait and have my clothes dry cleaned on the road when I travel than leave it up to these people to clean. Not to mention the store is a mess....an awful way to represent a business that is in the business of CLEANING!!! Workers smoking outside should have been a tip that they could care less about their jobs. Hopefully this review will save some the awful hassles I went through!! read more

This place is awful!!!!! Avoid at all costs!!! Poor customer service, trashy place, rude people, and to boot my clothes came back days after it was promised to me. They actually had the audacity when it was their mistake to try to blame me first (though my ticket pickup had the date it was suppose to be picked up) and then said it was nobodies fault except a stapler manufacturer for giving us a bad staple (apparently something need to be attached to the ticket). Bizarre people and the owner should be embarrassed to have his name associated with anything of a gold standard. read more

I am SO surprised at these one star reviews that I had to write and say is this the same place I bring my laundry and dry cleaning??? I have always had good, reliable, friendly service at their Ellsworth outlet, and this winter when toxic mold drove me from my home and I had to give them clothes that needed to be washed and returned promptly because they were my only clothes, no problem. Later when I arrived with bags full of stuff from mold house that needed to be washed with special soap, it all came back folded and fresh when I really really needed this service. They are super competent and yes, kind. I am mystified at these nasty reviews. Not my experience at all, ever. First time on yelp doing reviews but thought I would share. I went into Gold Star for their tanning. I have to say they have some pretty intense tanning booths. Friendly people. Great pricing. I read some of the other reviews, not sure what they are talking about. Place was spotless. Maybe talking about their old location at the mall because the address is wrong. They were very busy with drycleaning but didn't use this service. I would highly recommend. nice and tan for my vacation. read more

They don't even deserve one star. I've been a customer for nearly two decades and have spent at least $1,000 during that time. They were never great, but in recent years have destroyed two very expensive garments that I can not afford to replace. The first was my favorite designer dress that I got on Ebay in my size for a fraction of the cost that it would have cost retail. It was shredded, and all I got was reimbursement for the small amount that I had paid, and was out an important staple to my business wardrobe. The second was the utter destruction of my Moncler puffer coat, which I saved up for for two years and paid full retail. Moncler jackets last for decades and it was so stylish. I took the time to write a note to the plant saying in no uncertain terms it was costly and to please be careful not to ruin it, and when it came back it was destroyed. All the down feathers had been redistributed to the bottom of the jacket and most of it was flat. When I filled out a complaint the owner, Eric, had the nerve to write me a long letter accusing me of being "defamatory"!!! I will see him in court. read more
