I did my whites in them and they came out with brown splotches all over them. ruined 60lbs of whites. this has never happened to me before or since. when I brought it to his attention he says "they're brand new" insinuating it was user error. so, I asked him if anyone else complained to let me know, because I would be relieved to know it wasn't my fault. I never heard from him. Two weeks later I visited the same place TO FIND SAID "brand new" washers OUT OF ORDER. Cheap man didn't offer to refund the money I spent ruining my clothes, let alone the ruined items. Also; charges extra for hot water and heavy soil loads. Too much crap.

Machines don't work anytime you go in pretty much have to do the card readers on the dryer. Don't work. staff can't do anything about it. They don't have maintenance that will fix issues on weekends. Makes it really hard to get your laundry done when they won't give you changed they'll only give you bills and nobody wants $20 worth of quarters in their pocket. They don't allow you to use the restroom even if you're a customer but they really need to do better for me to make this a better laundromat. Make sure the card readers work I don't like carrying cash. I hate change even more.

I dropped off my academic robes earlier in the week with a promise they would be ready today. Instead, when I called the outlet tonight, I was told there was no sign of them, and they did not know where they were. A bit of a worry, to say the least. So their poorly trained but delightfully polite member of staff called their manager, who told them he was going to call all the shops to try and find it. Luckily they did find it still at the depot shortly afterward. When. I spoke to the manager they were not prepared to do anything to help me. I was told that they could get it to the old town outlet by 6 pm, giving the impression this would be a massive problem for them and for them to be offering such an amazing service, I should really be thankful for this "compromise" (remember I been told it would be available first thing in the morning today) and he would not change his timing to held a distressed customer. By this time, I had already been at the shop for 40 minutes, and the manager suggested I simply wait another hour and 15 minutes until they could be bothered to drive the 15 minutes from Brewer to old town to fix their mistake was simply ludicrous. Talk about a lack of customer service. During our conversation, I offered several compromises to get my robes to me only to be told they, "We're not The post office or UPS," which is clearly true as they have things like tracking numbers and helpful employees to help customers find out about the service they have bought. I can only hope my robes are there tomorrow, but sadly I fear the worst. The delay involved the depot doing a rush job on them, effectively a quick press and race to the shop to save place and no dry cleaning, or cleaning at all for that matter. So I can now add to my scores: standard of cleaning, very poor. This led me to do more research on the company, all I can say is I wish I'd looked at their reviews on the Better Buisness Beureau as they seem to be reflective of the service than the 3.8 average they have here and in Yelp, where clearly they are using friends to get a higher review. What is us laughable is this quote from their website. " We take pride in being the best and we back it up 100%. If you're not 100% satisfied in any way we'll clean your garment again at no cost. If we can't make it right, I'll give you your money back! Quality, service and your complete satisfaction are our main goals." talk about misleading advertising. Not that I'm asking for my money back that bird has flow, as I'll never set foot in one of their hovels ever again. All I want to do is prevent any reader of this review from receiving the same horrific service & bad treatment, because as customers receiving this "service", we deserve better, and you can get that better service just about anywhere else. I brought 4 items to Goldstar Cleaners on lower Union Street. First only two items were ready on…read moretime. The supposed reason the second two were late was that they were still wet. One of those was a silk jacket that should have been dry cleaned and should never have been wet. When I went to pick up the last two items, the men's pants were not creased. Nate, the attendant, was amazingly rude and said it would take nearly a week to get the pants repressed. When I complained he refused to get the pants repressed. When I complained about that he told me I could never come back to the business and then threatened to call the police to have me arrested, I know not what for. I suggest you avoid dealing with this business at least at this location which is surrounded with very scary mentally ill and homeless people besides chasing away it's paying customers.

I encountered a serious concern, called and left a message and no one got back to me and another customer had lost $2 in a machine and she didn't have a way to get help on site when she needed it(the other places in Bangor), nor did these "other" places have a rest room for customers. UGH! So someone told me about Goldstar at the Brewer Shopping Center, and oh what a breath of fresh air. There were 3 readily available workers that I saw, all of them very pleasant. Especially, if I remember her name correctly, Melissa, who despite working non stop was very kind and helpful. The workers were constantly doing their duties. There is a very clean and pleasant to use rest room for customers, a computer, a nice assortment of machines size wise to meet different needs, just so much better than the other two there is no comparison. Like comparing apples to crumbs. There are two things I would share with anyone coming, if you have lots of washing to do, bring your own water/drink as I didn't see a vending machine for drinks and since they don't use cards be sure to have plenty of cash for what you will need. (Hannaford's is conveniently located where I made a purchase and asked for cash back. It worked for me.)There are change machines. A suggestion to the owners would be to do a vinegar or Affresh wash through these machines every now and then but other than that, lint removal and clean up is ongoing. Thank you all!

I went to the Old Town facility to drop off a pair of pants to be hemmed. A few weeks later I went to pick them up. They were hemmed incorrectly. I was told I wouldn't be charged. When they were ready again, I went to to pick them up. They were done perfect. I was also told the amount I owed. I mentioned that I was informed that I wouldn't be charged again. I was frustrated, but I had to pay the amount again. The manager was down the aisle away from the counter. He heard what was going on and told me I needed to pay for things that were done. He then continued to vent very meanly. I ignored him. As I was getting ready to leave, he rudely told me I am not allowed to go to any Gold Star Cleaners facility in the future, and he kept loudly venting. I live in Milford, the closest laundromat that isn't Gold Star is in Brewer. That manager needs to be removed from Gold Star Cleaners, permanently! I hear a lot of negative things about him. I do have to mention that I looked at my bank account yesterday, there was an amount refunded from Gold Star Cleaners. That was nice of him to do because it made him look good.
