I am really on the fence about this review. Customer service means the world to me. I loved the ambiance of this place. I went in, and I sat, as if I were in a doctors office. I could hear young ladies talking, and wondered why I had to sit so long .. In allllll fairness, I may have been anxious or excited because this was my first facial. The three stars came in to play from an email that I sent and have YET to receive a response. As it was my fault that I did not show up for an appointment, just answer my email please. Just know that you will be charged a cancellation fee of 40.00 for a no show, even if there was a covid scare in your world . I did love the place itself. read more

I got a seaweed body wrap here. It's a 50 minute service normally priced at $80. It was horrible. I paid in total then, $51 ($21 Groupon + $30) for someone spending just 15 minutes brushing the gel on me. Then wrapping me up and leaving me completely alone for 30+ minutes. Then don't expect to be toweled off or have lotion massaged on you. You will be ushered to go take a shower. Then be asked out loud how much you want to tip. I tipped $10. So $61 in total for someone who, even after explaining I didn't want to get my hair wet because it just got colored said "oh too bad". They don't even have shower caps. And it's just 1 bathroom, so while you're taking a shower, don't expect to feel relaxed while you're easily hearing someone wait on you and the staff tell that person "hopefully she'll be done soon so we can get started on you!" I'm still upset over spending so much money on such terrible service. Or asking me out loud how much I'm going tip without even asking me "how was everything?". Bodywraps at spavia are also valued at $80, but I don't need to take a shower nor am I left alone as the wrap includes feet, hands, and head massage. And the end includes quality lotions massaged in. Since reception had no interest in how I felt at the end of my treatment (like knocking the extra $30 for making me have to get my hair wet with zero indication on your website that this includes a shower or finding just lying alone with nothing being done to you for over half an hour "relaxing") and spavia is just one place I can say has better bodywraps and service, I would suggest taking your business elsewhere. Small businesses should thrive based on quality. This was just haphazard, horrible and disappointing for my "relaxing" day off I scheduled a month in advance bc that's how much I needed it, but work so much that that's how I have to schedule my "relaxation". I took my mom to Eden Spa for a birthday wrap and massage today. We got the Winter Warmer package (50 minute Raindrop body wrap and 50 minute hot stone massage) for $139 each, and we both had fantastic experiences! Amanda was magic. The herbal warming aromatherapy oils were great for my cold and opened my nasal passages while making me feel wonderful. She smoothly grabbed and discarded hot stones for the massage such that I didn't notice any difference in the flow of the massage. Pressure was perfect, and she avoided my tickle spots like a pro. :) Mom said her services with Victoria were great too, and we both left extremely relaxed and pampered. I hurt my back over the weekend and was in need of a massage badly. I called Eden spa on Monday and they were able to schedule me for an appointment (after work hours too!) for Wednesday. The facility is clean and has a lot of trees and calming decorations. Samantha took my appointment and was great! The atmosphere in my room was very calming and had relaxing music playing. She asked me where I wanted to focus on and really attended to my needs, which was to spend more time on my back. There were times when I thought I was going to fall asleep! This place is great!!!! I found out about it through groupon/yelp. It seemed like a cool place with all the plants and adam and eve theme and is right around the corner from my house. The thing that really drew me in was the quality of spa and the pricing of their specials. They have great package deals including massage + facial + body wrap for $149 or massage + facial for $99. I got the massage and facial special. My esthetician was good but left the room for quite a while at the end. My usually facials have an entire hour of facial and when my mask is drying they usually massage my hands... but there was a period where she just left I thought that was weird. The massage was amazing. This tiny girl walked in and I thought to myself... oh man this girl is not going to be able to give a strong massage... but holy moly!!! Thank goodness I didn't request a deep tissue because this girl would have killed me! Easily one of the best massages I have had. I got my mom the first package for mothers day. 3 Hours of bliss that she thoroughly enjoyed. It was a surprise she wishes she got every year! My only complaint here was I walked my mom in, checked in for her and told them I was paying. I then proceed to pay and generously tip which I specifically instructed to split between therapists / estheticians. But when I picked my mom up she had said she had tipped each one herself because she didn't know I had left them one already. This mad me so upset that no one would speak up and say your daughter already paid for you including tip. Instead they each took a second round from my mom who was supposed to have the day off from paying anything!!! So each one got a $40 tip which was practically the price of each service. I couldn't believe they didnt speak up or call back and at least say there was a mix up. Overall, great experienced staff just would work on their communication a bit. read more

I purchased the Groupon special for Eden Spa. I booked two Swedish massages for my boyfriend and I. We both had nice massages, but at checkout my boyfriend's massage therapist stated that she gave him a deep tissue massage and it would be a $10 up charge. She didn't tell him she was performing a deep tissue, or ask him if the extra fee was okay, she just stated it as a fact at checkout. I went back to Eden Spa today to use up my last Groupon, and I scheduled a Swedish with the therapist my boyfriend had(she was the first available). It was a nice massage, but again at checkout she stated she did a deep tissue and it would be a $10 up charge. I was so shocked I didn't even know what to say. She didn't tell me she was performing a deep tissue, or ask me if the extra fee was okay. I don't mind paying for a service, but my boyfriend and I should have both been asked if a deep tissue was okay, and informed of the potential up charge if we chose to do the deep tissue. read more

Jodi got in there and really helped me. She's got very strong hands, but I never felt like she was going too deep. I don't think I will be sore tomorrow, but I do think I'll contribute to feel good. All dark brick and hardwood and jungle foliage and sounds of trickling waterfalls... it's like you're literally transported to some exotic island retreat the moment you step through the front door. Prices are what you'd expect from a high-end spa, but if you visit their website first you'll see that they do offer several combo packs that knock the cost down considerably! I opted for the $99 Hour Massage/Hour Facial special, but haven't yet cashed in on the facial... I'll get to that another day (soon!). My masseuse, Mandy, did a great job. Like the previous reviewer mentioned, it was more therapeutic than the deep, almost-painful, structural healing I sometimes crave... but when I left I felt like a limp noodle, and retained that limp noodlehood for hours afterward. So that's a good thing! My only complaint was that it was WAY CHILLY in there. I don't know if it was just me and my perpetually-cold tootsies, but there were times that my feet were so cold I was having a hard time enjoying the rest of my rubdown because I was so focused on how frozen they were. Close to the end of the massage, she wrapped them in hot towels and I almost cried tears of joy for that sweet, sweet relief! So very disappointed. I bought my man and I discount certificates through Weekly Plus. I called this week to make appointments for this Saturday for massages and was told "No problem! We have several openings!." I mentioned my gift cards and everything changed. "We aren't honoring those this weekend, its a holiday." Me: "Holiday? What holiday?" Her: "Valentines Day." I mentioned that there are no blackout dates on the certificates and was told that "It doesn't matter. We can choose to not honor them." I thanked her for her time and hung up. I really wanted to bail on my massage appointment today. I just wasn't feeling into it. However, I didn't want to lose my Westword Voice Deal and it would also be really jerky to cancel 45 minutes prior to my appointment, so I went anyway. I'm glad I did. I am still in a zen-like daze from my wonderful massage with Amanda. I mean with a name like that how could I go wrong?! I entered Eden II and the atmosphere of the waiting area immediately began to soothe me. I was a little nervous after reading Jeremiah Z's review, but I was soon put at ease when I told the receptionist I had a coupon for the deal and she completely understood what I was talking about. Amanda greeted me, and brought me into our room. We chatted for a few minutes she asked what I needed, I told her complete relaxation and she suggested adding heat and aromatherapy which sounded wonderful to me. And it was. Amanda put hot towels on my feet while she worked on my upper body. And then when she focused on my lower body, she placed hot towels on my back. The pressure she used during the massage was perfect and she took her time and focused on my whole body. The aromatic oil she used (I think some eucalyptus blend, not sure) was lovely and she did some type of Chakra thing at the end that really did have a grounding effect. Additionally, when I got up to dress, I glanced at the clock, and I think she actually went a couple of minutes over. My only concerns were with the spa itself. The music, while relaxing, was a bit too loud. Then there was the temperature as Kym B. previously mentioned. It did feel a bit cold in there, but I looked at the thermostat on my way out and they had it in the low 70s so I'm thinking it may be the room's high ceiling? Finally, the room had a skylight. It wasn't a big deal...but it was a bit bright when I turned on my back. Those 3 things are minor though. I still had a fabulous massage with Amanda. In my opinion, there are two types of businesses that are best kept dimly lit: bars and spas. The first because everyone looks more attractive in less light (and 5 beers) and the second because I like to fall asleep during my massage. Eden II is appropriately dim. I felt instantly relaxed the minute I set foot in the building, which has a forest-y "urban oasis" feel too it. There are plants everywhere and nature murals on the walls that aren't exposed brick. Rachel, my massage therapist was terrific. I would love to tell you more, but I fell asleep during my massage. It was exactly what I needed. A nice relaxing massage in the middle of a hectic week. My one complaint is that my 60 minute massage was more like 50 minutes when all was said and done. Plus, even though I paid for it using a gift certificate I bought from a social coupon site, $80 (plus tip) is pretty pricey for a massage that didn't last the full 60 minutes. I always enjoy a massage, but I think I can get a similar quality massage at a different place for at least $20 cheaper. read more

The massage here was good, but it wasn't like I was going out of my mind in soothing waves of deep pressure. It was more therapeutic than soulfully healing. Maybe if the room had a shade to cover that sky light...hmmmmm...that might've changed the atsmosphere. The masseuse was skillful and the touch was effective. I definitely reached a more relaxed state of mind and body at the end. Maybe I'm just used to the Palo Alto new-agers whose frightening focus on the innate healing powers of the body is infectious. The facial lacked that "hurt-me" element, which is necessary for me to believe that my face is the better for spending $90.00. That price includes voluntarily bombarding my face with miniscule rocks for that sand-papered smooth effect. No pain, no gain. I need that pain. Maybe the esthetician sensed my narcissistic sado masichist emerging and was afraid to touch me. Despite the bright room and gentle facial, the folks here are calm, considerate, and caring. I hate spas where the high-priced, faux earthiness smacks me in the head the moment I walk in, which always elicits an eye-roll or two and a desire to have telepathic powers. "Back off, people, I'm here to relax!" 3 stars for getting the job done while being informally understated and genuine, which is always tasteful in my book. 3 stars also means I'll go back and try something else. read more

I've been holding onto this Groupon deal since X-mas, and decided to use it for my B-day. I've had several massages over the last few years, and about 50% of them were awesome, and the rest, just sucked. The only type of massage I will ever request is deep tissue. The interior of the place was very nice. I felt comfortable, and the soft lighting complimented the place well. A woman entered through the front door about a minute after I arrived. She was very friendly. After I completed the one-page questionnaire, she introduced herself and walked me to a room. She asked me 3 questions regarding the massage/preferences, and listened intently to my responses. Naomi did an awesome job - 2 thumbs up! The amount of pressure she applied was perfect, and the areas of focus that I had specified earlier were precise. The small water fountains were a nice addition, and positioned just right, to blend in with the relaxing music. The room's brightness from the skylight made it somewhat difficult to relax, and was more noticeable while lying on my back. I prefer a subtle light, something similar to the waiting area. Other than that, I'll definitely go back, but only if Naomi is available. read more

I've had two treatments at this cute little day spa in downtown, a facial and a massage. The women who worked on me both seemed well-trained and professional. Naomi, my massage therapist, gave perfect firm pressure throughout the massage. However, my overall experience of this spa was lackluster and left me wanting more. I'm not likely to return. Neither my esthetician nor my massage therapist communicated with me at all during my treatments, asking my about my skin needs during or before the facial or how I was doing with the massage once I was on the table. Although I filled out a paper questionnaire before the first time I went to the spa, I would have liked a sentence or two of direct communication. Both treatments were significantly under the 60 minutes they were supposed to be (although I had arrived with plenty of time) as was the facial my mother got. If treatments are really supposed to be 45 or 50 minutes, not an hour, that should be specified in the treatment menu. As a result, my massage felt rushed and didn't address the request I made for work on QL attachment points. The facial I received was perfunctory and the products she used were not very active. I left feeling like not much had been done to my skin. read more

Asked me specifically what I'd like, firm or soft, and anything else I'd need. Lovely ambiance...unless you were like me and heard a siren about 3/4 of the way through, you'd forget you were off Broadway! It was awesome. My hour flew by. This place isn't bad, but overpriced compared to other salons I've been to in Denver. False advertising on their website "offers the best prices on massages in Denver". At $80 for a 50 minute massage, I would expect a more "spa-like" experience. Or to walk out feeling like butter. Water wasn't even offered after my massage. I usually appreciate the homey atmosphere when spas are located in older homes, but I didn't appreciate all of the light coming in during my massage. It was just harder to relax. There are plants everywhere-big plants that make it feel tropical (or like you're in a jungle). Eden Spa is open 7 days a week so it's convenient to schedule an appointment.
