Great library! Plenty of parking out front. Great location on the corner of Monterey Road and Branham Lane. The librarians are very courteous and ready to help when called upon. Plenty of bathrooms. Lots of book selections and places to sit down and study. A lot of computers for people to use and print from. This place offers story time for children during the week as well as coding on Monday's at 4pm to 5pm. They also offer other help with computer-related tasks throughout the week. There are a bunch of homeless people in the parking lot, but they're good-hearted people and funny characters. They also have a toy area in the children's section with plenty of clean toys for your child to play with at any given time. They're going to start doing a "Summer Learning Kickoff" starting June 9th that you may want to check out. Enjoy!

I visited this library on Saturday and it was not very crowded. They have a lot of parking space and some are covered too. As this is my first visit to this library, I took a new library card. They have around 6 different library card designs to choose from. They have kids play area with some toys and legos. They have a lot of hard books for kids and 2 computers in the kid's zone. They also have good DVD collections and some music albums. Once books were collected, you need to check out at the entrance. They have 3 systems for check out and we have to return the books on or before 3 weeks from the day of check out.

Edenvale Branch Library is conveniently located of Monterey Road. They have their own parking lot with sufficient parking spaces. The library has different programs they have the thousand books before kindergarten, they have the summer reading program, they have the bike event, they have children story hour and activities, and other events to that you can participate in. The library also has a Books sale for you can get books are most new for cheap at a very low price. The librarian here are very helpful and always willing to help. The librarians also visit our classroom for special story time with children in our program. There are theme boxes for thrashers to check out and use in the classrooms and also book bags with books for sharing with the chicken in our classroom. Lots of greats events, activities, and programs for young and old.

Wow, I haven't been to a library in a long time but found so many good gems. I was shocked when they had a few new book releases that just came out on their shelves and hasn't been checked out. As for movies and shows, they have a huge selection of media. There's a few things I was specifically looking for but all of the copies are on hold. Most notably, I was shocked how expansive their games section is. They had a massive offering of Xbox, PS4 and Switch games. Everything here was clean, staff was nice and it was poppin' on a Saturday. Thankfully they have a parking garage and we had to park on the third floor just because of how busy it is. Support your public libraries!!

The library is relatively new with several little rooms for meet ups etc. and a larger auditorium where they have book sales and classes/lectures. There's also a way to get discount tickets through the library, but I have never done it myself (I think you need to check in the first of the month or something). The library is clean and well kept, and the books have been in relatively good condition. The DVDs are often damaged, but I haven't found any circulation of DVDs that isn't like that. Library also has eBooks and the ability to place holds via the website or app. Holds are picked up to the left of the parking structure entrance in the first set of shelves on the left as you walk past the self checkout kiosks.

Books, media, even laptops are checked out and can only be checked back in at the library! What draws our family to the LGL is the beautiful and unique space it's created for little learners, studios students, and the working professionals! Love the tech station that provides access to a 3D printer and their summer reading program which has encouraged my littles to stick their noses into books as their activity if choice this summer! Bravo Los Gatos Library!

When my daughter was little, she loved reading in one of the cozy upholstered circular reading nooks in the Children's Room. Besides books/audiobooks/DVD's/CD's, you could borrow park passes, various kinds of board games, puzzles and kits (such as stargazing telescope kit, pollinator kit, ukulele kit, gardening kit, and sewing machine kit.) Recently, I've noticed that you could even borrow an induction cooktop. They also offer free 3D printing (1 per month), and drop-in tech help. They have a seed library as well. They have a technology lab, and you could reserve study rooms. The library also hosts different events for adults and children. I attended the "Summery Vegetable Success" event in the Technology Lab on Sunday. The speaker, a UC Master Gardener, was very experienced, and her talk was very interesting and informative! I feel so fortunate to have such a wonderful library in our community.

I had a very disappointing experience today, September 3, at the San Jose Almaden Branch Library…read more As a resident of the Almaden area for more than 15 years, I have used this library frequently for working and studying and have always appreciated having it as a community resource. Today was my first time reserving one of the group meeting rooms because I had an important Zoom meeting scheduled from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m. With the assistance of a library staff member, I successfully reserved the room and received an email confirmation. About five minutes after my Zoom meeting had started, the branch manager interrupted my meeting and told me that I needed to leave because the room belonged to someone else. Since I saw that a group of children was waiting to use the room, I cooperated and left without arguing. After my meeting, however, I showed the manager my confirmation email, which clearly demonstrated that I had reserved the room correctly. I was then told that there had been a system error and that the room had been double-booked. What I found most upsetting was not the system error itself, but the way the situation was handled. Before asking me to leave in the middle of my meeting, the manager did not check my confirmation email or first verify whether I had made a valid reservation. Instead, I felt that it was immediately assumed that I was the one who had made a mistake. As an Asian woman, I also could not help but wonder whether I was being treated differently, particularly because the other party involved was white. I cannot know the manager's intention, but the interaction left me feeling uncomfortable, dismissed, and disrespected. I understand that technical errors and double bookings can happen. However, I believe the appropriate response would have been to first verify both reservations, explain the situation respectfully, and work with both parties to find a solution rather than abruptly asking one person to leave an ongoing meeting. After being a longtime resident and regular user of this library, I was extremely disappointed by today's experience. I hope the library will review both its room reservation system and how staff handle situations like this so that all patrons are treated with courtesy, fairness, and respect.
