Can't even get it redone because she took too much off despite being clear and specific with length. I had a great experience today at The Edge of Madison. Angela did just what I asked with subtle highlights and a great cut! I will be back!

First visit was good. Second, I thought my stylist was having a bad day. The third was my last time here. BEYOND upset! I showed a picture of the first cut and once again I received a cut I didn't ask for. It took months to grow my hair and now I'm sporting a mushroom head with short layers. I asked that my hair be cut back, nope, cut like someone placed a bowl on my head. My recommendation, find a stylist who listens! read more

I called up the salon in desperate need of, well, just about everything! I have been recovering from foot surgery for the past five months and have not done anything. I'm also relatively new to CT. When I called to make the appointment they could not have been any more friendlier or willing to help me out with coordinating cut, color, eyebrow wax, bikini wax and manicure. On the day of my appointment I walked in and felt immediately welcomed. My stylist, Romona, was genuinely excited to listen to my ideas, helped me with my crutches and treated me like I had been coming to her for years. Carolina did my nails ( French gel) and waxing. After a few bad (almost comical) wax experiences, I am beyond happy to have found Carolina. The day after my color, I realized I may have asked for something a little too bright. I called the salon to see about coming in to tweak the color and this is where Loriann went above, and beyond. Rather than wait until the following week, she asked if I could come to the salon immediately- on a Friday night, two days before her birthday and after hours! It was just a tweak but her talents, professionalism and client service truly set her apart. The entire experience has left such a great impression on me. I needed a simple and straightforward haircut. I decided to try Edge of Madison for the first time. Ramona was my hairdresser. I explained that I wanted my hair to be a bit below my shoulders, maybe 2 inches, and I used her own hair length as a example. I informed her that my hair is very curly and thick. She asked if I typically wear it curly or straighten it. I responded that I wear it curly and pull it up daily - a requirement for my new cut. She expressed understanding. I'm generally an easygoing person and go with the flow. I wasn't fussing about shampoo and conditioner in my ears after the wash, a dog running around the salon (despite my allergies), or even someone else's hair in the brush she used on me. However, the haircut I received was not what I asked for. She blatantly ignored my length request. She cut my hair about 2 inches ABOVE my shoulders. Luckily I can still pull my hair back but it is a tiny 1/2 inch ponytail! When I told her it was much shorter than I wanted, she told me that it would be longer if I straighten it and that it would be easy to style at this length. She didn't apologize or even acknowledge that it wasn't what I asked for. I was charged $45 for the cut and $15 for blow dry / style. This consisted of her putting mousse in my hair, using the diffuser for just a few minutes, and finishing with a little hairspray. I left with my hair still damp and looking like I just rolled out of bed after a rough night. I'm extremely unhappy with the service and embarrassed by the cut. read more

Yes! I have been going to Sandi for a few years now, color, cut and tape in extensions and I am beyond pleased. I have finally found a place that will get my hair that platinum blonde I've been looking for. After a cut, color and blow dry, they'll even curl your hair just because which, I personally think is a very nice touch. They are thorough, clean and really a fun crew to spend a few hours with. Mary does wonderful facials and a beautiful job with makeup. Highly recommend. read more

I called this salon on Saturday morning desperate for a color correction on the sides of my hair from service received two days prior (at another salon) and then "corrected" the next day (only for it to look worse). The had a no-show so I was fortunate that our schedules magically aligned and I was able to go right over. Everyone in the salon looked at "my problem" and Sandi and Angela together devised a plan and went to work. I was out in less than an hour and they subdued my over processed blonde sides without using more lightener (less damage) and helping it to look blended. I can now pull my hair back without embarrassment. They all had a "can do attitude" and made me feel comfortable and relaxed in a high stress situation. The cherry on top was a text message today (on a Sunday when they are closed) checking to see how my hair was. What a professional thing to do! I look forward to trying them for a full service when its time for my next service. read more
