When I picked him up, I didn't recognize my dog (before and after pictures for reference). He was shaved to the skin and they even nicked his neck because they cut so close. I brush and comb him regularly, so matting was not an issue. The staff was incredibly rude and dismissive of my concerns, showing a complete lack of care for my dog's well-being. This experience was truly upsetting, and I would not recommend this place to anyone. If you care about your pet and want a grooming service that listens to your instructions and treats your pet with respect, avoid this place at all costs.

Not only is it extremely convenient due to location and hours, but they really care about the animals and have amazing pricing! My dogs are always happy to go there for boarding when I'm out of town, and can honestly say they have the best groomers I've experienced as a dog owner! Even if my dog Doodle has some matting and needs to be shaved (100% my fault), they do a phenomenal job and make him look adorable :) I cannot recommend Love Overboard enough!

They called me right before pickup and said my dog was coughing up blood and has a knot on the top…read moreof his neck; that wasn't there before! My husband specifically gave him a bath and took him for a checkup before we left to go out of town. There is no way we wouldn't have seen this and especially coughing up blood! He seemed so scared when we picked him up it looked as though they choked him during the time they gave him a "bath" I guess. I do know that we took him home and tried to doctor on him because unfortunately we just came off vacation and paid them a ton of money for no one to admit to anything. Don't I repeat Don't take your pet here smh!!!! P.s. the knot is STILL there but has shrunk a lil, he hasn't coughed up blood since oh and his bark was very hoarse sounding after a week it got better.

She was told they might have to go "a little short" due to matting, but he was shaved completely down. When I called afterward, the staff admitted they do no dematting at all. That policy was never explained beforehand. Had we known, I could have brushed him out at home in ten minutes. And honestly, if you do not demat, then all you can ever do with a wooly-coated dog is buzz cut, which means I would never have brought him here in the first place. To be clear, he had gone about a month and a half without a cut and was medium length. His back was tangle free, his legs had brushable tangles with a couple to cut off, his belly had a few brushable tangles, and his beard had brushable tangles with a couple to cut off. He looks like this a week after grooming, so this was not a "red alert" matting situation, but a pretty normal appearance for a softcoated Airedale, and a groomer should recognize that. I own dog clippers. If I had wanted a buzz cut, I could have done it myself for free or taken him to a cheap chain store for far less. Ironically the only other time this happened was at a Petsmart when he was young, and I never went back as a result. I truly expected better here. In all my years using real groomers, I have never had one shave him. Here there was no attempt, no discussion. PSA for other Airedale owners: with some coats, this approach could cause permanent damage.

They were not able to do the full haircut/groom him which was understandable because sometimes he can be quite jumpy (I did give him medicine beforehand to help). However he's never had an issue in 4 years of simply not being able to be groomed at all around his face or body. After his appointment later in the day I discovered this long cut down his lip and no one mentioned any incident to me when I picked up him. This was very disheartening because he has been noticeably more nervous and scared since picking him up from his appointment. We won't be back.
