I don't know about the other guide that was not touring, but Dirk was top notch, excellent. It was just my wife and I so we got some great personal interaction. I love old structures and their construction history. I love history and I love architecture. Dirk touts his tours as architectural. It's not his only focus. He is very much a historian of the area and pieces together the important events that shaped the history of Savannah. It's a BIT of a misnomer, since this spot is run by the Taxi Counter, but it also applies for those patrons wishing to catch their LYFTs or UBERs to their downtown destinations. THE SETUP From several different local sources, I gathered there was a lot of in-fighting for awhile between the cabbies and the lyft/uber drivers for secure space for awaiting patrons to await cars. Apparently, the Airport Managment finally muscled down on ALL complaining vehicle transports and said, "You ALL will pick up passengers here. Our way or the highway!" They were SO knowledgeable about the area and such fun to chat with on a beautiful March day. We went to two different beaches, and Jamie helped us find probably 40 shark teeth of all sizes. It was amazing - I truly cannot believe we found so many. On the second beach, Malcolm showed us the coolest fossils I never would've even noticed, like a camel tooth from thousands of years ago and bottles left over from the prohibition era. It was an absolute blast and a must-do with family, friends, or partners. I am six months pregnant and had a totally fine time, so this would be an amazing trip with kids too. We absolutely loved our tour! We did a private tour to Little Tybee Island. We found so many shells…read moreand a couple sand dollars. The kids swam in the ocean and played in big waves. We loved seeing Hopper the dolphin, also. Our guide, Kyle, was so knowledgeable and did a great job of explaining how the area has changed and the importance of the marshes. We all had such a wonderful time on the boat and with Kyle. The kids loves it when he'd turn on the "air conditioning" by going faster. We will definitely be going with them again!
