This review is strictly for the "Savannah for Morons" tour. I had an amazing experience with Danny and Dannie, the "Moron Twins." They were high-energy, engaging, and hilarious throughout the entire hour-long tour. Kelly's Tours provided the ride, while the Morons delivered the entertainment, along with a lighthearted take on Savannah's history. Kelly Tours was just okay to me. The group I was traveling with booked them as they have extra services they provide in Savannah. The buses were way smaller than I am used to when traveling which made it very uncomfortable as I am tall. Also on one of the local Kelly Tours the seats were broken. The drivers in all cases were awesome, but I would not be able to recommend them due to the discomfort of the buses and lack of upkeep. read more

High light of our trip! Kathy the tour guide and Ashley the shuttle driver were so kind and knowledgeable! This is the cheaper, cost wise but the bus was so clean and nice. The other bus company, don't know the name (orange color bus) had lines of people waiting and couldn't pick up at Avery stop! This crew was kind and attentive. The bonus is that they will be your personal shuttle for a few days after purchasing! In my opinion that's cheaper than any Uber! read more

The company absorbed Excursions Unlimited and the tour we took with Kelly was much less organized than our Excursion tour. Both tours were out west, so there was a fair comparison. So many things wrong with the Kelly tour; disorganized guide who was not at all familiar with the area and simply googled trivial facts. Itinerary had poor timing (arriving to locations not opened, too early, etc)., timing of meals with lunch at 11:30 snd dinner at 9:00), etc etc. Not well executed at all and no opportunity to leave a review so that mistakes could be corrected! I can't imagine taking another tour with this company. read more

We booked Kelly Tours through Trip Advisor which created some confusion on our part. Part of the confusion was the name. This is also called Gray Line Tours. I can recommend Kelly Tours, but I do not recommend booking them through Trip Advisor. Just go to Gray Line Tours/ Kelly website. Kelly operates differently than the other tour companies in that they will send a shuttle bus to your hotel to pick you up and take you to the central bus station where you then get on your trolley. If you have a 10:00 tour, be prepared to be picked up twenty minutes early. We didn't get this instruction. Our tour of the historic district was very good. Our tour guide was fairly knowledgeable of the history. He was more knowledgeable of the buildings. The tour was an excellent way to get a feel for the district and to plan your route by foot. All tours offer the ability to jump on and off trolleys during the day which is a great way to cover ground. Kelly is different in that you call them and they send one of the shuttle buses to pick you up and carry you where you want to go. We didn't avail ourselves of this perk so I can't speak to the waiting time for a shuttle. read more

It was supposed to be an overnight Holiday Mystery Trip, but it was more like Holiday "Surprise" Trip. The first "surprise" was the timing of the meal schedules, lunch ended at 2PM on the first day and then, surprise dinner at 5 PM at an all you can eat seafood buffet (burp). The next surprise was the poor choice of lodging due to unsanitary conditions and noise pollution (they were actually driving steel piling from 7 AM to 7 PM 6 days@week right next door to the hotel, the hotel was actually shaking when the driving took place and noise was deafening, "Say What???‍). Next surprise, the bus would not start the following morning. And then perhaps, the number one biggest surprise was the choice of rest stops on the way home, an overcrowded, understaffed Walmart on a Saturday evening during the holiday season. And get this, it was for the convenience of Kelly's so they could transfer drivers for another Kelly trip to Nashville the following day. The rest stop was supposed to be only 15/20 minutes long, but it was more like 45 minutes. Our initial ETA was 7 but our actual arrival time was 9:30, some 2.5 hours late. Not my idea of fun. Among other issues, bus seating was uncomfortable and limited leg room, and the choice of Myrtle Beach as the destination, really guys, c'mon! read more

If you'd like to book through a tour company, go direct, go on the internet, go call a friend... Do anything but DON"T call this company. We booked a cruise and land tours to Alaska. The Holland American run portion was quite good. Call them direct and you can get all the same deals. The portion that we counted on Kelly to do was atrocious. Multiple and inconsistent itineraries, the first bus was falling apart. We stayed at the worse hotels - wouldn't take my shoes off. The dinner they provided was truly similar to dog food. We had no alternative since the hotel was remote and had to cross 8 lanes of traffic and a railroad to reach another place to eat. The tour guide was confused and had no reliable information. He couldn't direct us to the buses, blamed anyone else for mishaps, and actually had no or very limited knowledge of the areas that were included. Dumped us in the tourist trap area of Seattle and were left to fend for yourself. At least the Embassy Suites was okay. So why not stay in a better part of Atlanta or visit Vancouver??? Because Kelly makes more money with poor tour guides, the cheapest of hotels and sloppy service. And of course they skipped us when handing out the survey. Never again. read more

Joyce was a pleasant and caring tour director. She took excellent care and explained everything about the trip while answering questions fully and respectfully. I agree with one of the other reviewers. We did several Kelly tours and basically felt like we paid way too much for what we got. They waste a lot of the customers' time with stops at not so good restaurants and cookie places and do restroom stops at places with terrible facilities. When most people are taking cemetery tour, they want to spend time at the cemetery not at Erica's restaurant and Byrds cookies. The riverboat tour is really awful. They don't say it is a tour of the industrial side of Savannah. Who wants to see that? Also, half of the time for Tybee Island and Dolphin cruise is spent at a so-so restaurant again with terrible bathroom facilities. They won't give you your money back even if you don't get to see the Tybee Island beaches and light house at all, because the weather is terrible, and you don't get to see dolphins, because the weather is terrible. They have some nice, knowledgeable guides, but the company seems to be all about making money by saying the tour is 5 to 6 hours when the actual tour part is probably an hour or two. I would say find another company or only do their historic tour of Savannah the land part. It was good! Also, the windows on their buses need to be cleaned, so you can see through them. read more

So, not gonna lie - I have a bit of a weak spot for city tours especially if it's to a place I haven't been to, or haven't taken the time to learn much about. For a city as rich in history and culture as Savannah, I'd say it's worth it even if you, like myself, have visited a few times here and there. For example: everyone knows about River Street but did you know that the city was designed to have 24 squares and has retained 22 of those original squares? Or what about the fact that the first Mechanical Fire Station was built here (beating out NYC by a few days?) the first Black Historic town is also located here with one of the oldest Black churches still standing. Not to mention the many ghostly stories that fill all the corners of the city. What I loved most about the tour is that it took us all the way out to the arts district to show the work many SCAD alumnus have contributed to outer parts of the city, reviving and bringing in commerce to a dying part of town. Per our Tour guide, this is the only company that takes the trolley that far north and I'm so glad we got to see this lesser known side of town. Really, I could sit here and recount all my favorite highlights of the trip but I'd rather recommend highly that you book a tour for yourself and see what I'm talking about. In regards to COVID: our trip was not overbooked but I did see where some trolleys were pretty packed (on other tour companies, anyway.) I'm not sure they are limiting capacity, but we got lucky with a smaller group. The city mandates mask wearing but of course, some people in our group did not follow those instructions well. Again, we thankfully got a small group but be mindful that you may end up in a crowded trolley and if you have concerns I'd suggest calling ahead. read more

Aug 2022, Savannah, GA, 90 minute non-stop bus tour with the driver being the tour guide. The driver was very knowledgeable and 80 percent of the tour was about wartime history. Also, I noticed the other tour companies had an extra person as the guide. The one good thing is that once you take the tour with Kelly on that SAME DAY ONLY after your tour is complete can call the company and ask them to pick you up anywhere at one of the tour spots and drop you off somewhere else at one of the 11 tour stops. It's almost like calling for a cab and not paying for the ride. All and all, next time we are in Savannah we will try the Hop-On-Hop-Off Tour to get a different experience. read more

Reached out to Kelly tours in November, 2022 and was put in contact with Will. I wanted to book a trolley for my Daughter's wedding to transport the Bride for her 1st look, wedding party for pre wedding photos, guests from 2 locations to Fountain at Forsyth Park and then wedding party back to The DeSoto for a quick touch ups and to the wedding at Fountain at Forsyth Park. From the beginning Will was so helpful and very patient with my options for trolley and questions about my party size and all the things needed to know to make the occasion go well. I booked the minimum time required, 3 hours and things were spectacular. Our driver was amazing and even with the Jazz Festival going on the same time , he was on time every stop and just a great energy about himself. I'd think twice before making purchases with this company. If something unforeseen happens (much like the pandemic we are all facing, which was completely out of our control) all you will be offered is a voucher for next year. This company is literally saying to its customers "sorry you're out $160 a person for something the government made us cancel, but instead of putting your money back into your hands during uncertain times, come back next year! Plan a trip back to Georgia even though many of you likely lost your jobs and won't be able to afford to take vacations next year." This is so disturbing. My understanding was that the cost was to cover "unlimited drinks and two meals" but since none of drank or had any food, how is the company losing out? The driver was absolutely amazing. The minute I walked on to the bus it felt dirty and there was an atrocious smell. The seat next to me had stains that looked to have been wiped up with no effort of trying to be cleaned. We found out once the driver checked into the oder that the bathroom had not been cleaned. She took pictures and we are hoping for some reimbursement for the inconvenience of smell and filth on a 5 hour bus ride with middle schoolers. read more

Please be-aware of Kelly Tours, Their drivers are hired to carry your children out of state. Yesterday 5/4/2021 while I was heading to lunch I had 3 of their buses run a red light and almost hit me I swerved to miss the bus and almost hit another vehicle. When I contacted Kelly tours to file a compliant they didn't give a crap. So when you are about to send your child off to another state for a fun trip. just remember these drivers don't give a crap to put your childrens life in jeopardy by running a red light This could have ended a lot worse with me being able to survive and warn you. This is just another company to be sorry once you have to bury your child for their negligence. read more

I was booked on a senior St. Patrick day tour to Savannah. The tour was canceled because of the virus. They want me to accept a future travel with them. You're probably going to end up with this company on a school trip. Plan to donate to a charity to offset the damage done by their contract with Chick-Fil-A for lunches. Pack as many snacks as you can as the times when they feed the kids are impractical. Plan to spend quite a bit on water for the same reason. If you or others are vegetarian, a cooler of hummus packs is a good idea. They say that food and snacks are provided, but the timing isn't based around what kids need. Logistics on how groups are paced through planned attractions are suddenly "up to the teachers" when you get here, leading to delays as teachers and chaperones scramble. Poor logistics mean, God forbid you're on an overnight trip, that hotel check in will be a nightmare. If you have any choice, don't. But likely you'll end up with Kelly Tours at some point. Hug the teachers and let them know it's not their fault. Have a good time with the kids and write a review later. Burn the obligatory "Kelly Tours" tee shirt or donate it to a clothes drive. read more

If this is the correct Kelly Tours run by Gray Line in Savannah I can't tell you how disappointing this trip was .Our tour guide Cindy was very nice very bubbly and knowledgeable. However she went by points of interest so fast there was no way you could get a picture, and at times pointed out things way before we were even to them and we didn't really know where to look. We were then taken to the river Street., where where we were supposed to get the Riverboat tour which was a combo packet. When we got there Riverboat people were very confused as there was no riverboat schedule to go out that afternoon at 1 p.m. . There was only one other couple on our tour with us and they called Kelly Tours and Kelly Tours to be just as confused as we were. The operator said she would get a hold of Viator tour company and refund the money for our river boat trip. I would not recommend Viator to anyone we've used them twice and have been screwed up twice. This may be all viators problem and not Kelly Tours however when Kelly Tours called for the riverboat they should have made sure that one was running on the Tuesday we were there. You guys take your own conclusions from this, but we won't be using Gray Line or Viator ever again and also when they drop you off at the river you have no way of getting back unless you use the free Savannah shuttle, easy enough to find but if you're handicapped a 3 block walk is a lot they don't tell you that when you book a trip read more

We had a drive-around air conditioned bus tour before the boat tour that was just ok. Bus was very nice and having the roof made of glass was very nice! The bus driver sounded like a recording of the stories he tells every day. I actually stood up to see if he was really talking into a microphone and not just playing a recording. Despite his well intentioned but blasé delivery, it was still worthwhile to learn about the city and orient us to the history. He could benefit from listening to other tour operators or doing something different in the industry to get some new material and a boost of enthusiasm. Nice guy, just sounded bored and overly familiar with material he finds tired, rather than a knowledgeable and interested local. read more

Pre paid round trip to Hilton Head Island. Shuttle time was almost two hours after flight arrived and was late. Driver left me off at the wrong Marriott property, in a town car with three others. Pick up time was two hours before it needed to be, was picked up in a 14 passenger van and the only passenger. Use a taxi or Uber not worth waiting for their schedule and then not being taken to then correct resort. read more

My son's school has booked a field trip using Kelly Tours for transport. They scheduled a few months in advance and Kelly Tours pressured my wife to pay $100 in advance "otherwise we may not have a seat for you". Well both my son's play baseball with the school team, and we just received the game schedule for the season. One of the games falls on the day of the field trip so my son can't make it. Kelly Tours informed my wife that they will only refund $30 of her deposit and she is just out the rest. Not good business, not acceptable read more

I had really mixed emotions about how many stars to give this business. We booked the K Shuttle for transportion from the Savannah airport to our hotel and from the hotel to the airport the day we left. This is VERY affordable and reliable. That alone is worth 5 stars. Our trip from the airport to the hotel the day we arrived was fabulous. Driver was punctual, friendly (albeit a little too much because he talked nonstop) and we felt safe in the vehicle. Our trip back to the airport was beyond scary and the reason I cannot justify 5 stars. At the end of the trip, I felt relieved that we actually made it to the airport. So much so, that I literally wanted to bend over and kiss the ground! It was raining when we left the hotel and yes it was a hard rain. We no sooner got into the vehicle when this guy runs up on a curb and swerves to miss another bus/van. We fishtailed badly and OMG....I was terrified. We get on the highway and this guy cannot seem to keep his eyes on the road. We ran up on the berm several times and he swerved and weaved the entire way to the airport. Once we all arrived and he retrieved our bags (one at a time, slowly walking each one to the curb), we determined that this driver was either drunk or high. I would book again but would definitely ask questions about the driver they are assigning before I hop into a shuttle. Mr. Toad's Wild Ride was not suppose to be on our itinerary! read more
