This is what roses looked like minutes after being delivered ....

Received this bouquet for my birthday and thought it was a joke upon removing the wrapping to find these dead, gross flowers. Cannot believe they had the nerve to even deliver this mess. I didn't want to tell my children what I had received but knew that they probably had paid way more than what they were worth, which was nothing. The store did give them a credit, even without wanting to see the pictures, probably not the first time they've sent dead flowers. The mini cheesecakes were good but again way overpriced. I would NEVER trust sending a gift from them after receiving this mess.

The gift would have been delicious if the delivery driver did not smoke in the car. The fruit tasted like cigarettes! Not good!

Pricey but they definitely do great work. Look for promo offers before ordering. Fruit is always fresh and arrangements beautiful.

Diabetics and dieters of the world, close your eyes!…read more I wonder if Gertrude Hawks is a modern day Hansel and Gretel chocolatier. Her shop is full of the most delicious concoctions and confectionery. There are a lot of unique products as well like clusters and apples. There are only stores in Pennsylvania, New York, and New Jersey but you can easily order them online. In fact thats how I tried them. A coworker offered me to taste one cause one of her friends bought her some for easter and she said "they are unbelieveable" and I love chocolate so I was wary. Boy let me tell ya....they know how to do chocolate. When she offered me one I said "OMG" yep I'm going to order some and I did. The site is simple www.gertrudehawkchocolates.com and they just have a shop online button. They are very reasonable in price. If you don't know what you will try first I would recommend the chocolate Milk Chocolate Caramel Bunny Smidgens. MMM SUPERB!! Thats what I thought was "OMG". The caramel is so soft and like melts in your mouth...and I mean literally its like falling out of the chocolate when you bite into it....its the way chocolate caramel should be let me tell ya. The one I ordered was those (of course) and Milk Chocolate Peanut Butter Bunny Smidgens. REALLY EXCITED about them when they come. Another one I wanted was the chocolate covered strawberries but I didn't know how they would travel so I decided against it but man I bet those are great as well. I just LOVE chocolate hehe. So ladies try it I promise its DELICIOUS and gentlemen I promise you your lady will love you for a long while after buying her some chocolates like these. And YOUR WELCOME!! Oh so good!!

I am so disappointed in Pierre's. I have buying chocolate…read morehere for Christmas gifts for twenty-something years. I have always been pleased, but this Christmas was terrible. I purchased several one pound and half-pound boxes of chocolates. I specified for each box, that I wanted the boxes filled. I did not care what the weight or prices were. Each box contained assorted chocolate-covered fruits and truffles. I buy the same candy varieties each year, so I am speaking from experience. Every year, the boxes are filled with the chocolate-covered fruits overlapping each other and small paper cups, each with one truffle. The boxes look impressive, when opened. This year, the woman who helped me did not overlap the fruit and put them in the box piece by piece. One chocolate-covered orange slice took up one entire row!! Every year, there are easily three orange slices per row and four pieces of other fruit, I.e. apricots/peaches, per row. When my recipients opened their boxes, the candy looked awful. The boxes were half full. Once again, I explicitly said I did not care about weight and/or price. I wanted the boxes FILLED!!! I have never been so embarrassed! The candy was good, but the presentation was just awful. I am a very loyal and dissatisfied customer. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Edited to say- I also purchase the solid milk chocolate, foil-wrapped balls. Let me tell you, they were smaller than half their usual size. The foil is so hard to remove, I needed my 5 year old's little fingers to unwrap them! Smaller in size, higher in price.

It is a must stop whenever I am in the area, have never had a complaint. Their meltaway chocolates are outstanding. If you don't buy anything just the aroma in the store is a delight. I travel around the area and make a point of stopping in chocolate stores as my wife likes chocolate. No complaints from anything I have brought home from Pierre's. When I say they are tops, it is because I have been to many chocolate stores, stores that have been around for decades. These other stores make some chocolate and also resell other chocolate, not the highest quality. I will not mention these other stores as they obviously have a loyal following to be open for decades, I just want better. This shop has 35 years history and is operated under the second owner, they are not the new kid on the block for sure. But you want high end chocolate you have to stop in this rather non-descript store and give their wares a try. They also ship for a flat fee which I recently tried and the goods came earlier than expected, although I really rather prefer to visit the shop.

I was amazed by the care and service of this local business! The owner is a super sweet man who is always there to lend a helping hand with the chocolate recommendations if you are looking to buy a special present for someone. If you happen to be buying a selection of chocolate, maybe you will be lucky enough to sample one of their chocolates right there Their entrance is a side door off of Madison Ave. It is not labeled, but don't be afraid to give it a turn and go right in! You should hear a bell chime in the back when you head in, so if you don't, give the door another open to make sure they know they have a customer. Their Gianduja chocolate has such a lasting and aromatic hazelnut flavor, I definitely recommend getting a piece in the next box of chocolate you buy. They also have plenty of deals during different holidays in the year. I highly recommend Birnn Chocolate for any occasion, as a thank you gift or a just because gift for someone special. There are no chocolates that disappoint here!

I had the blueberry and it was coated _fresh_ blueberries. Not easy to find something like that! Service: 5/5. They were happy to describe the different flavors and willing to give out samples. Store: 3/5. A bit cramped inside - I understand they wanted to keep the purchase area separate from the confectioner's area, but a bit too much square footage set aside for them behind the counter. You'll be walking around quite a bit and you may have to go back and forth a bit to get a full sense of what's on offer. Combine the store ambiance with the incredibly high prices (we all agreed it's at least 20% higher than other gourmet chocolatiers) and I can't give it a fifth star. But the chocolate itself? And the wonderful people? I can't possibly go under 4 stars total.

I've shopped here a few times over the years, moreso since moving into the area. They have a wide assortment of sweets, even stuff for people who don't like chocolate. Some of the items they have: - Fudge (obviously) - Chocolate covered fruit - Peanut brittle - Cordial cherries - Truffles - Licorice - Swedish Fish - Gummi bears and worms During my latest trip, I picked up some of their dark chocolate bourbon cherries that spend a week soaking in bourbon before being coated in a chocolate shell. I picked up some milk chocolate Oreos for my wife (she doesn't like dark chocolate). They have baskets and seasonal treats throughout the year (Valentine's, St. Patrick's, Easter, etc.) if you need to pick up a gift for someone. The inside may feel a little cramped during busier times of the year but that adds to the character and charm of a place that's been around since 1961!
