I have been going to this location for health care now for maybe 2 1/2 years or so. I just turned…read more65 in December and in hindsight, foolishly signed up for Medicare through Kaiser. I sincerely regret that decision and will be making a switch come October. The last 2 1/2 years have easily been the WORST HEALTHCARE I have received in my entire lifetime. I have heard the complaint many times of healthcare in America of DENY, DENY, DENY! But now I know how that came about. Had to be Kaiser? This report is going to the Kaiser complaint desk...AGAIN? I had given a verbal phone complaint back in January and was told I would get a follow up phone interview but no...even the phone call was This one is in writing so it cannot get lost. I will also be copying and lodging a BBB Complaint with this letter as evidence. I will also be copying this doc to any Government Agency that might have interest in seeing the scam that is Kaiser Healthcare. I will also be copying this to any relevant health care review sources online that may reach people before they waste their money on Kaiser. It will also be copied to my lawyer. Michelle Torres MD - She was the one Denier up until Mid April after I got rid of her. She is responsible for the bulk of the complaints. Daniel Yuwan Teng MD - I had one meeting? Seemed to be an improvement but have already received a phlebotomy denial and crickets on a requested appointment he said he would set up with a referral. (I believe that the refusal to do any referrals to a specialist loses these doctors bonus money. San Mateo seems to be catering to the illegal immigrant trade, and damn those paying us every month for their health care!) Here are just a handful of issues: 1.) I had been given a prescription for a Glp-1 shot in Januari from Michelle Torres, no co-pay. When I went back to renew the next refill, I was refused by the Pharmacist! Said I didn't qualify anymore and my cost would be $695.00. After questioning the doctor she said she could move the prescription to Costco? Why on earth is a pharmacist making medical decisions for a patient rather the doctor? Follow the money is all I can say. Anyway, no reply by the doc....crickets, which seems to be the MO here. 2.) I have Hereditary Hemochromatosis. A rare blood disease, where the body does not rid itself of iron, which can damage organs and kill you if left untreated. I was diagnosed about seven years ago and have had several experts on the subject helping me. I have a good idea of what I need. I have requested a specialist on hemochromatosis several times with no success. This is a habit you will see many tomes. Neither of the above-mentioned doctors knew what it was, I had to tell them. I know that I lived with a huge ferritin level in the 1,00 range for most of my life, which is very dangerous and no doubt, there has been organ damage inflicted. Those that know say to keep my ferritin level under 100. Both the above-mentioned doctors came back with a 300 number prior to doing a phlebotomy. It had been established that I need 3 phlebotomies a year to control my iron level. It has been a year since my last one. This after multiple requests to schedule me for one or two to catch up. Not a surprise, that is the number that pops up on Google and is there for those people that don't have the blood disease. Google doctors for sure. Guess I will have to wait for this until October and then I will be needing several over a short period of time to eliminate the risk that I will be under. 3.) Dermatologist. I am bald. For 25 years I have seen a dermatologist to care for any skin issues, pre-cancerous issues that may arise and to freeze off any issues that have been found on my head. I have had one test in the past and proved to be pre-cancerous. Not so much concern with these 2 doctors though? Dr. Torres refused me a referral no less than a half dozen times. Said not needed, I'll take a picture? Then she gives me a prescription for a cream? Google doctor. Dr. Teng went one step further? Said seeing a Dermatologist would be a waste of money? He said he could freeze the issues on my head, I said fine go ahead. He grabbed a freezing can and froze some things on my head but there was no inspection, no discussion on pre-cancerous issues at all. Google doctor with a spray can. 4.) Stage 1 kidney disease - This I was diagnosed with maybe 6 years ago. Before Kaiser I had an expert Kidney specialist, with every health plan that would closely monitor me physically on the ankles, Urine tests for protein loss, along with blood tests along with monitoring my blood pressure and diet. Now I get a blood test, that is it. No discussion whatsoever. I have requested many times to Kaiser, at least a half dozen to be referred to a kidney specialist, always with a no....not needed. 5.) There is more trust me...no more room here.

Yesterday I spent a good half hour pushing this digit on the phone keyboard and that digit only to be met with a human person who insisted could not hear me and hung up on me. Went through the same gates of hell procedure all over again to finally connect with a human who gave completely different information than they had to my husband that any and all requests by phone take 48 hours to 72 hours to process. So...you don't call in the lab orders like you said you would and confirmed a month before the lab appointment, we get to the appointment only to find out the orders were never called in and then spend half a day trying to get expedited lab orders for an upcoming appointment only to speak to six different people, all of whom (except for the last call where they FINALLY informed us of the 48 to 72 hour policy) listened, said they'd get this taken care of and then did....nothing, leaving husband to attend his appointment to go over the lab results with no lab results at all to review.

And generally just wasted my time with unprofessional front desk, experience and lengthy paperwork that I did not receive a copy of. I don't think I would recommend remedy medical group to anyone based on how they treated a new patient. It just wasn't ideal, and I felt dismissed as a patient. I was told the wrong time to be there, acted as patiently as I could, but ultimately, I was unable to receive any meaningful care from their facility. Luckily the doctor squeezed me in for a 10 minute intake, before really making sure that she made it to her next appointment on time. It didn't feel thorough nor did it feel like my issues were actually of concern..... I was referred here to take pain management consultation. Which turned out to be nonexistent, because I was scheduled with the wrong doctor after triple checking with the staff. This was not a good use of my time, but the place was very clean and looked nice from the outside as well as the inside. Great interior lighting. But that's really not what you're looking for in a medical office. The furniture is sort of irrelevant, just like a backdrop to what is actually the purpose of the business. The scheduling staff here needs better training so that patients don't waste their time like I did. 2/5 adding a star just for the furniture.
