We were sent here by our insurance and discovered we were in the awesome graces of Dr. Grant Wood of the Wood Rigo Cheneau (WCR) brace! My daughters have really enjoyed the relaxed, innovative and high tech bedside manner of Dr. Wood & Dr. Paul Burnette at this clinic. In Europe and slowly here in the US, the WCR brace is showing to do more than hold if not correct some degrees of Scoliosis curves. So I was thrilled to happen to be sent here. People come from all over to get a brace made here. There are several clinics sprinkled all across America. I feel lucky they are here in the Bay Area. I am not one to wait for surgery to be needed so, if you are trying to find another way to do something for your back problems- a scoliosis diagnosis- etc. some Schroth exercises and a brilliant custom made brace from here is highly recommended. I'd give 6 stars if I could out of 5

I definitely recommend Align Clinic. My son age five has been going to them for a few years now and Steve has been great. My son can be fidgety but Steve is always so fun to be around that he's able to get my son to stay seated so that he can make the mold for the orthotics. So far we probably had three or four pairs of orthotics made by Steve. All of them did its job great. Thank you Steve and Align Clinic staff for everything you do and more.

Really horrible experience for a new adult patient. I am in the market seeking a second opinion on my scoliosis. When I first called for new patient consultation, I spoke to Jolene. I specifically told her I wanted a zoom meeting because of covid and she said no problem. 8/4 came by, the day of appointment. No zoom meeting link was ever sent. So I called on 8/4 asking to set up another appointment, again with Jolene, this time in person. She said okay to 8/13 at 10am. Even told me to look at their website for details on brace, reminded me to bring my xrays on day of appointment. Today was the appointment, or so i thought. I called now to see, surprise! No appointment for me at all. It was scheduled at 8/6 at 10am. The next available is 8/27. I wish there was some sort of appointment reminder text or email so at least an error like this can be communicated.

AFTER Helmet use (6 months later)

We are so grateful to Paul Burnette of Align Clinic for fixing the flat spot on my son's head. He had a pretty bad case of Plagiocephaly (aka flat spot on the back of his head). My older son wanted to be held all day when he was a baby, so I was so happy when my second baby slept so much and didn't need to be held. However, I didn't notice that he rarely moved his head when sleeping in the bassinet, swing or in the stroller. I didn't realize this could cause flat head syndrome that was diagnosed at his 2 month pediatric appointment. I wasted 2 months trying to fix this myself by moving his head while he was sleeping and buying every head shaping pillow on the market, but nothing worked to improve his flat spot. Once its formed, the flat spot is virtually impossible to fix without a helmet band. I wish I went to Align clinic as soon as it was diagnosed, because the earlier you address it, the better the results. A babies head grows the fastest during the first 6 months, then slows down pretty rapidly until it stops growing around 18-24 months. Paul did an amazing job! My son wore the helmet band from 5 to 11 months (6 months total). He could have stopped wearing the helmet at the 4 month mark, but because we wanted the best results we decided to keep it on for another 2 months. See BEFORE and AFTER pic. I was so nervous that our baby would hate the helmet and it would affect his sleep. The baby has to wear it for 23 hours a day (1 hour off for bath and helmet cleaning). I also worried he would be too hot in it. Paul was so nice to drill extra holes in the back of the helmet because I was so concerned about our son being too hot. Our son took to the helmet with no problems. Didn't shed one tear and adjusted so well in it right away. It didn't impact his sleep one bit. We started at the beginning of winter, so it was perfect timing. Our insurance covered most of the cost (copay less than $200) and all the follow-up appointments were free. I can't recommend Paul at Align Clinic enough! He really knows what he is doing and we are so happy with the results! Plus, he is a great guy and we never waited more than 5 minutes for any of our appointments. Friendly office. You will love working with him and won't regret it!

5/15/19 lower curve now 8 degrees (correction of over 10 degrees)

Took My daughter to see the scoliosis doctor this month and he said that her out of brace correction for her scoliosis went from 27 to 8 degrees and if she looks this good in September she may only have to wear her brace while at home! Both her doctor and her Physical therapist said they have rarely seen this kind of correction! The PT said that most people use the Boston back brace (because it's almost always covered by insurance) which only keeps things from progressing, while the WCR can actually correct. Schroth physical therapy and her WCR brace are making a difference. It took me 10 months to find a good scoliosis doctor that I felt comfortable with, the entire time, Grant, Paul, Jolene and the Clinic have been actively treating her scoliosis, answering all my questions, and addressing my concerns. Their incredible work is really paying off with these results. I'm so thankful we found this fantastic clinic! If your scoliosis doctor says it doesn't matter whether you use the Boston or WCR because they're not allowed to give you guidance on what company to use, it does matter!

I witnessed this employee treat an elderly woman with complete disrespect. The woman was having difficulty locating her Kaiser member ID and was clearly struggling, yet the employee responded with a rude, impatient, and dismissive attitude. There was absolutely no compassion, empathy, or willingness to help. Instead of assisting a vulnerable patient, she made the interaction unnecessarily uncomfortable and embarrassing. This behavior is unacceptable for anyone working in a patient-facing role. Healthcare employees, especially those at the front desk, should treat every patient with dignity, patience, and respect. An elderly patient should never be made to feel like an inconvenience for needing a little extra time. Based on what I witnessed, I believe this employee's conduct should be reviewed by management. If this is how she treats patients in public, I am concerned about how many others may have experienced similar treatment but chose not to speak up. I hope Kaiser investigates this incident and takes appropriate corrective action to ensure all patients are treated with the professionalism and compassion they deserve.

A long overdue review. I will need to make it short, but would like to praise Peninsula Hospital…read morefor the very attentive care I received in 2011 for a major surgery. Fast forward to 2022 when I came down with covid - I had a horrendous experience in the emergency room - I could hear staff chatting away as though they were junior high kids at a party in another room. The ER doctor at that time told me I had "severe covid" and needed medication - a medication that had been understood would destroy a person's kidneys in a short amount of time. I refused the medication. I could mention many other concerning things about my treatment in the emergency room that night, but honestly, this review would end up being much too long. The good news is when I was admitted to a room on the 4th floor it was a different staff and they were great. I asked the doctor who came to see me if I had "severe" covid (as the emergency room doc said) and she said, "no, it's mild, but you are dehydrated and your electrolytes are off." Wow, how could one doctor say "It's severe and you need to have medication" (that will cause harm to my kidneys) and the other have a completely different diagnosis? The 4th floor staff took good care of me the remaining days I was there. Then in 2023, I ended up needing emergency room care again, and an xray tech walked in and said he needed a scan of my heart; I reminded him that due to my health situation (from a previous diagnosis) recommends for me to be careful about having too many xrays, and he said in a gruff tone, "Well, I need to do this anyway," and acted like he could care less. It is my understanding that all over our country, the best nurses and medical staff left their jobs because they knew the vaccines were not fully tested and they were being required to get the covid vaccine in order to keep their jobs. It seems the smart ones left and, unfortuantely, I get the impression that they've had to hire less-than-competent staff since then. I'm hope there have been some improvements to staff and training since 2022 and 2023.

Despite this: * Substandard Technique: The technician, Mark, failed to examine both arms for viable veins before attempting to prick me. * Physical Harm: Mark made 3 unsuccessful attempts. When I requested he stop after the third painful prick, he was dismissive of my concerns, stating, "I've been doing this for 24 years." This resulted in significant bruising on my left arm. They finally brought in a PICC nurse after that. * Procedure Failure: During the scan, the contrast administration was extremely painful because of contrast flow not being adjusted properly. Furthermore, the contrast did not appear in the initial images. Because of this technical failure, I was forced to return for a second MRI.
