Came here with a friend who knows the owner to celebrate their ninth year anniversary. The ambience alone deserves five stars but the service, beers on tap and free shots for the anniversary made it a special day to come here. All the food is epic. I had the mozzarella wedges and as a mozzarella stick connoisseur these are some of the best I've ever had with Panko breading and fresh cheese. The simple ham and cheese is one of the best I've also tasted considering it's smoked ham, sliced, thick and not deli sheets like you get at most places. Just down the street is Triple Play Park, I was in town for a softball tournament and both had time to kill, and stomachs to fill. We (the team, so about a group of 40+) popped in unannounced around noon on a Saturday. We were able to sit down, no problem. The waitress made short order of all of our drink orders, food orders and then individual bills. There was a wait, but that is to be expected. Shout out to her! She showed a lot of grace and didn't let the dozen hyperactive ten year olds goofing around fluster her. There were minimal issues will the individual checks, too. I ordered the fried buffalo sandwich. I will say that all the chicken (my order, sure, but the countless nugget orders as well) came out really, really dark. I am not sure if that was intentional or normal? I thought my sando was a burger, honestly. But alas! It was indeed a good sized, juicy chicken sandwich with all the fixins. I enjoyed the made fresh fries immensely. The coleslaw was creamy. My Summer Jam from Big Grove really hit the spot, too. Parking is a non-issue. ELBS&WD boasts a patio with plenty of seating, as well. There are daily specials -- the brisket grilled cheese they sling on Saturdays looked bomb dot com. Pricing is on point. This place has been on my list for awhile. We were playing in a softball tournament with my youngest daughter a half mile down the road so we decided to stop in for lunch. My daughter had the chicken fingers, and I had a buffalo chicken sandwich w/pepper jack and candied bacon. I also had fries and french onion soup. Everything was delicious. An excellent little hole in the wall. Disguised as a dive bar, the kitcy, decorated dining room has records and dollar bills covering the ceiling. There was a good lunch crowd but you could talk comfortably across the table. The food was quite good and plentiful. The lunch special was a Prime Rib sandwich reasonably priced. I was not a big fan of the fries. They were home style fries but they were limp and a little oily. The prime rib was good not dried out and smothered in swiss cheese. My friend had the prime rib salad. It was basically a salad bar on on plate. Cheese, bacon, beets you name it it was on this beast. All in all a good experience. It makes it really hard to enjoy your meal and eat your food. I am not joking there's probably about 15 flies in this restaurant. The big potato soup was OK. Lastly the potato salad was decent at best. The food was very mediocre. However the sampler appetizers it was probably the best. The bacon wrapped jalapeños were really good, the mozzarella jumbo cheese sticks was actually quite good. Other than that I would say the food was very 2 to 3 star review worthy. Service: Now where they really shine is their service. Their service is top notch. I could give their service a five star review as our waitresses were really good. I love coming in here! Highly recommend the pulled pork sandwich although I haven't had anything bad here yet. Being from out of the state, we rely on reviews for finding the best food in town. For two years, we have chosen their takeout for large holiday gatherings. The food is solid barbecue garb with a kick up. The potato salad is uniquely seasoned. The meats are perfectly smoked. All sides were what you would expect from a good BBQ. We didn't all like everything but there was something for everyone to like. Our only downside was in ordering. We tried to order our dinner for 20 the day before but were told to just call the next day before we needed it so it would be made fresh. Ugh. At first glance, one would think that this restaurant was actually an auto salvage yard due to the fence around the outside and broken down car up on a hill. It looks like the kind of restaurant that is trying way too hard to be funky quirky but really only succeeds at looking like somebody just threw a bunch of junky old signs and lights and plates up on the wall. However, as long as the food is good, who cares what the restaurant looks like. Well.... in this case, the restaurants decoration is better than the food. One would think that when you have wing shack in your restaurants name, you would specialize in chicken wings. That is the sole reason we came here. Imagine the disappointment when upon looking at the menu there is only one chicken wing plate on it, and that is an appetizer. Even worse, that appetizer was practically inedible due to the wings not being cut and they're being nothing more than a butter knife in sight. When I say the wings aren't cut, I mean what is served to you is the thigh and the wing connected. Making it nearly impossible to pull a part or eat it. Why anyone would serve it like this, I have no idea. As previously stated, when the sharpest thing at your table is a butter knife, you don't stand a chance at the finishing this appetizer. I had the barbecue brisket sandwich with fries and baked beans. I am shaking my head, as I write this review thinking about how dry that brisket sandwich was. A brisket sandwich should be tender, fatty, and if you put barbecue sauce on it, juicy and tangy. The sandwich was the exact opposite of all of those. Look at my previous reviews...I LOOOOOVE BBQ. My girlfriend had the chicken skewers which were also very dry and not very flavorful. We should have had somewhat of a hint that the chicken was not going to be very flavorful when they serve it to you with four different dipping sauces. I mean, if you have to put four different sauces on your chicken in order to eat it, there is something wrong with your chicken. Finally, the service was also lacking. While the restaurant was not overly crowded, it was clear that they should have had at least one more waitress on duty. We barely saw ours and when we did, she did not really seem very happy to be helping us. All in all this was an extremely disappointing night out. Driving cross country I'm making exactly one stop and I take a chance on a pork tenderloin here. Firstly only half of the the staff are wearing masks. The menu isn't huge, but there a nice selection and good is a great value. I had the catfish sandwich. It came with 2 sides, I chose French Onion soup and fries. It was delicious. Perfectly cooked and mild tasting not overly fishy. My date had the corn dog thatvis made there at the restaurant. It was large and tasty. My mother was pleased to find fried green tomatoes and she had that with the potatoes soup which she said was delicious. My grand-daughter informed the waitress she needed to inform the cook that he got 2 thumbs up for excellent French fries, which at home made in the restaurant. A local bar is having a lunch special, my wife says. Locally owned, she says. Look at this picture, she says. Let's go, I said. Any restaurant with the word "bait" in the title causes me anxiety immediately. Seeing the outside did little to help. When Google maps announced "You have arrived" I thought Google, you're drunk. My next thought was yeah, I am going to get lockjaw. But we had already put in the order and had paid and luckily hospital visits are fairly inexpensive. I walk in with a hopeful feeling. Nope. It was dimly lit. I realize that dinning in is banned, but it looked like someone had cleared their shed and placed all the junk in the restaurant seats. As I walked towards the bar, a cheerful voice asked if I was Dwayne. I guess I don't look like a Katie. She handed me a bag with a very nice message written in the side. And the food? The fancy hamburger bun was toasted nicely. The patty was seasoned well and it was a good size. I skipped the fries and ate the onion rings. They were battered perfectly. Not super crunchy. The onions had a sweet flavor to them and the ranch is the good, thick ranch that sticks to the onion rings. I mean it's bar food, but I have had way worse. This is definitely worth the drive. Really 4.5 stars. So when you see Edith and Lucille's you may think you are about to enter a dive. I think this is by design. The place is very quaint. There are tables covered in bottle caps, a washtub sink and hose spigot in the "Dames" room, and a general rustic feel (think Green Acres rustic). We went for breakfast. The waitress was like everyone I met in this town- very friendly. My son ordered biscuits and gravy (not my thing, but I had a corner of a biscuit and it was very flakey). I ordered eggs over easy, hash browns, toast, and their restaurant made sausage patty. The cook accidentally misunderstood and made pancakes too. We took those home for the grandkids (they loved). My only food criticism was my over easy eggs were over medium to hard. The sausage was delicious (I took one of these home too). The bloody Mary was excellent. It was constantly out! The business model is correct. The food and atmosphere are unique one of a kind for C.R. Right down to the 125 gallon goldfish tank! The sttaff was all working hard but man nobody seemed to have any direction. This led to slow table turn over, large line ,and food,one item or another constantly running out at buffet. We stopped in at Edith Lucille's for a Saturday lunch. We were a little confused when we first walked in, as we were not greeted when we entered the restaurant. It took a little bit of searching before we found instructions, on a chalk board wall, to seat ourselves. The atmosphere is super fun and kitchy! With lots of interesting items everywhere you look, we made a circle around the place, taking it all in, before we seated ourselves at a booth. We were greeted by a very sweet server who quickly took our drink orders. The menu has been recently updated, with several new additions. There aren't any descriptions of items on the menu so we asked our server a few questions about a few interesting sounding menu items. Sadly, she didn't really describe the items with much more than a "those are amazing!" Or a "that's my favorite thing on the menu!" Which didn't really help when trying to decide on what to order. Maybe it was due to the menu update being very recent. But she did say the staff tried all the items on the menu so I would have expected a little more of a discription. We ended up ordering a diet soda and bloody Mary for drinks, the buffalo chicken sandwich and the hand dipped corn dog for our meals, and the coleslaw, baked beans, fries and the potato salad for our sides. While we waited for our food, we played trivia pursuit, which was already at our table. All the tables have a variety of board games already waiting to be played. Super fun and a great way to pass the time while you wait for your food. With so many kitchy things to look at, and plenty of games to play, It wasn't a long wait! Our food was hot but the sides were a little on the small size. The main items were large and made up for the cost of the meal. Now on to the important part... The food. The buffalo chicken sandwich was very good. It had a great mix of sweet with a little bit of heat. The sweet pickle that accompanied the sandwich was an unexpected delight with it's equally well paired combo of sweet and heat. Sadly, the rest of the meal didn't match up with these two items. The corn dogs batter was delightfully lightly sweetened. But the dog inside was very salty, which made it impossible to eat more than half the corn dog. The slaw was slightly sweet and creamy but that was it. It was a very mediocre slaw at best. The baked beans were nice, with a mix of smokey and sweet flavors. The potato salad was overwhelmingly dominated with onion. I did not try the bloody Mary, but it looked impressive with it's wide variety of garnishes on a stick, including a beef stick and half an egg. But I was told that it was, indeed, very good. As we left, we noticed a large outdoor area in the rear of the place, that appeared to be used for events. Another patron told us that they have outdoor events, serving brisket and beverages outside, with bands playing live music. In the winter there is rumored to be a ice skating rink back there. So here's my takeaway, this place is super fun and kitchy. The food seems about average with a few shinning stars here and there.
