Great little restaurant located in czech village. The ambiance is local small town cafe cozy with a very friendly staff and clientele. If you're looking fir fancy, this isn't the place. If you're looking for great food, you found it. They have a full bar with lots of drink specials including mimosa flights I'm a big fan of their Benedicts. Today we had the shrimp, crab and lobster one.. it came with broccoli, tomatoes and potatoes. Delicious. Great place for a filling meal at reasonable prices read more

I am a fan of this place for several reasons. First off a FREE DRINK the whole month of your birthday! Any drink, soda to beer to a mixed drink. Second, BREAKFAST! It is really good here! I have tried a few things. One of my favorites is the eggs Benedict, they have a few kinds for different tastes. If you can, try and make reservations online, they get busy on the weekends. Third, service. Always pleasant, always friendly. Food comes out pretty quickly also, usually any time of the day. I can go on and on about this place, clean, roomy, comfortable atmosphere, they don't rush you out the door, friendly patrons at the bar. I have never had a bad experience here. You need to try this place and you will not be disappointed. read more

Lucky's in The Czech Village here in Cedar Rapids, IA is a good choice for food when you are in the mood to build your own meal!! I had a burger that I got to pick all my toppings to make a unique and delicious perfect burger! Plus coleslaw. They always have a friendly staff and the ambience is welcoming and comfortable. It was about 11 AM when we got here and we both wanted breakfast. No problem; they serve breakfast all day. It's a small place and some tables seat separate groups. We took a smaller table with no wait. Our server came over right away with coffee, Yay!! DH ordered pancakes with basted eggs and bacon. WOW, they didn't say pancakes are platter-sized and he had 2. They were light and fluffy and delicious. I ordered the traditional eggs benedict snd it was also delicious. The English muffins they use are wonderful. They are thick without many nooks and crannies. I should have ordered some of those to take home...1000% better than what's in the grocery store! read more

Delayed for our flight, so we had time to catch breakfast and after searching Yelp for a place with mimosas-we stumbled upon Luckys. Soooo happy we did. My husband had the mimosa flight-it was HUGE!! I had a normal mimosa and the ratio was PERFECT! Just a splash of OJ. And now to the food, delicious! Service was spot on, I wish I could remember our servers name, but it was a long morning. Decided to try Lucky's today. I'm a pretty picky eater and nearly all the lunch menu had onions or olives so i went with that which can't fail; all day breakfast. I got a 1 egg meal with fried mashed potatoes that are similar to tater tots but a more creamy texture. The staff wasn't the most attentive but I blame my timing as I seemed to be in the lull so they were busy with dinner prep and always came when called. They were very nice. Love the decor but it's rather dark within. One wall is covered with this old relic they call "records" which apparently are the grandparents of the CD and used to hold music. The other wall had canvas photos of their food which I find novel. And I'm happy to see every thing from floor to table to bathroom was very clean All in all I see why Lucky's on 16th is a local favorite. read more

The service was excellent, we ended up waiting about 10-15 minutes for a table (as we didn't know they had call ahead seating). Our server was nice and friendly! The food is phenomenal, my three year old loved the mini pancakes and devoured the fresh fruit! I was beyond impressed with the Florentine eggs Benedict. Although the establishment is rather small with not much room to squeeze in between the people sitting, it still felt very cozy and inviting. You can tell from the crowds of people eating and waiting in line to be seated that this place is an absolute hit! (We also went on a Saturday morning, i would recommend calling ahead if you are wanting to be seated rather quickly!) They also had gluten free bread options which we appreciated! If you're in the area or looking for a down-home type of breakfast/brunch spot - this is the place to go! read more

Our waitress Heather was phenomenal!!! Even made sure that if someone had a birthday in July, that they were getting their "birthday drink" for free right off the bat. Had about a 20 minute wait on a Sunday morning and it was well worth it. As you can see from the pictures, the bloody Mary's were fantastic and the food was amazing. Reason again, four stars as opposed to five, was that the biscuits & gravy needed a little bit more "something". A little more sausage, salt or whatever but it was still really good, but the hashbrowns were freaking to die for!!!! GO FOR THE CHEESE SAUCE!!!! !!!!!!!!! my parents, both from the Des Moines area, we're totally impressed with the entire atmosphere. Found this place via Yelp. Location is great, right near the Czech Village so parking is plentiful. We ordered French toast with bacon and eggs and crabs Benedict. The French toast was great but bacon was tough instead of crunchy and crispy. The crab Benedict was quite fishy although it did include crab meat. Overall, convenient place to eat but nothing impressive. read more

I love lucky's. My bloody mary and half order of chicken and biscuits (country fried chicken with egg on biscuit with gravy and hash browns) was awesome. Only downside was service was not great (it was not busy) and we had brought people who had not been there before. Food won the day, though. read more

After weekly visits for dinner and participating in their Wednesday nights Bingo nights for over a year now we've decided to NEVER darken their door stoop again. Their "general manager" made a special visit to tell us we could no longer donate $20 donations to the cause of the week in one payment at the start of the game. Without all if the deets, our $60 donations will not be given here. We are retired women and not rebel-rousers. read more

We great food, great service, and the greatest bloody. Mary's definitely will be back when we are in that area again.

My daughter recommended Lucky's to us and to be honest, I thought "How good could breakfast be at a bar?" But now that I have had the Lucky's Breakfast Experience I would recommend it to everyone. The French Toast is out of this world. I had the Chicken n Biscuits and it was a Huge meal that was delicious. I'm a big eater and I have enough left overs for a great second breakfast tomorrow. Our server (Laura), said she was new, but she took wonderful care of us and was attentive and friendly. They have a great staff and we met the delightful owner as well. My only caution would be if during these times of Covid, if your nervous to be around a lot of people, I would hold off on eating at Lucky's until Covid is over, as they are very full/busy for breakfast on weekends.
