Let's start with the fact that I didn't even hire this company or need any tree service but yet I…read moream writing a review to voice my displeasure. That should indicate my feelings towards Trees Plus. My new neighbors hired this company to take down a few large trees in our shared alley. First, they never knocked on the door or anything to tell us they would be completely blocking our car in the garage for consecutive days in a row. Fine, thats whatever don't be considerate thats okay. BUT the reason I am writing this review is because they took down the huge trees, which left many large branches on our roofs and one of the branches ripped our extra room roofing causing a leak into ur laundry room. We have lived here many months and never had an issue with roof leaking, we called out a contractor too see why the roof was leaking and lone behold he showed us the rip. My wife contacted Trees Plus and they said that nothing came close to our house and that there was no they did anything wrong. Which is interesting seeing that if you just ignore that dozens of branches they left on our roof, the debris from cutting down the trees clogged our gutters on that side of the roof, they used our window seals as cup holders for their lunch drinks, and the main contractors son walked all over our flowers killing those too. So it really seems that not only were you close to our property, but you were clearly on it. A couple hundred dollar fix, and I didn't even need any tree service. Thanks Trees Plus for you lack of professionalism and for taking no responsibility. Needless to say, we wont be recommending this company to anyone.

I needed four ginormous trees in four different very awkward locations, removed. They were looming over buildings, adjacent to electrical wires, up hills, on edges. Every single one, large and so awkward. Knoll & Sons were incredibly pleasant, professional and great to work with... well, I didn't do any of the work, but they sure as heck did, and I did get a ring side show to some fascinating and intricately choreographed work. When they say 'you won't know they were there,' they mean it. Every evening for four days, the street, the alley, the yard, everything looked cleaner and better than when they arrived that morning. As to their note about treating your things like their own... my beloved one of a kind yard swing, hand created and welded by my grandfather for my grandmother, was gently moved even more in the clear than I had done, and put back in pride of place, at the end of the job. I have bought firewood for years and I have used most of the competing business in Chicago, so I speak from experience, often bitter experience. I buy a lot of wood (we make a lot of fires!), usually a full cord in late fall at the start of fireplace season, followed by two face cords later in the winter after we've made a big dent in that initial order. The wood is a good combination of small and big pieces, the small pieces are great to start fires and the big pieces are perfect once the fire starts. Other places I've used I've had to split the wood one or two times, which while fun, quickly becomes a chore. As long as Jim runs Chicago Firewood, he's my guy. Highly recommended.
