In my opinion, having a wedding planner was a necessity and one I would advise other brides to have, even if it means scaling back on other costs for your wedding reception. For me personally, having a wedding planner was the difference between me just being able to "pull off" my reception and me being able to enjoy it. To save some money, I hired KWE for month of/day of coordination rather than full event planning (though they were available from the get-go for contract help, referrals and all-around advice). The month before my event, Kate swooped in and took care of all the details: designing the layout of the venue, coordinating with the vendors, etc. The week before, day before and the day of she took care of everything! She picked up supplies, was on hand to greet and coordinate with other vendors, did setup and cleanup, delivered items to my house after the reception, helped keep the party on track and so much more! I am not sure if there were any snafus (though I am sure there were, how couldn't there have been?) because if there were, she took care of them on the spot. She even jumped into action when I spilled red wine on my gown early in the evening. I really, really, really cannot emphasize enough how wonderful it was to have Kate and her team on board. I strongly advise you to consider hiring her for your event.

I called 1800flowers on Saturday 12/18 to ask where the delivery was and why it was delayed. The CSR put me on hold and called the florist to investigate. When she came back - I was told that it was due to 'bad weather' AND that they (the florist) are 2 hours away from the recipient's location. Uh, ok - granted the area (Elk Grove) was indeed socked in by fog for a couple of days especially in the mornings. At this point, I have no idea who the local florist or where they are located. The CSR apologizes for the delay and assures me that the delivery would be made the next day (Sunday). Come the next day, the delivery person finally came with the order. Wow, talk about disappointing and NOT MEETING EXPECTATIONS. The final product was simply sad AND droopy. In retrospect, I should have just refused delivery. It looked like a trainee had worked on the 'holiday tree'. It was pathetic and almost laughable. Attached pictures show what it's supposed to look like and the actual delivery ... not good. And the final kicker is that when I asked delivery guy the name of florist shop and where they're located - he says "Paradise Florals located in Elk Grove". This is the same city as the recipient's location - NOT 2 hours away. Just a really disappointing experience with 1800flowers AND Paradise Florals.

I wanted a floral garland as my altar decoration and she went above and beyond to bring it to life--even staying through cocktail hour to repurpose this garland as reception decoration. Macy creates a design board for you to access based on your input/Pinterest board/pictures and you can see each of the different flowers that will be in season & available for your big day and what you have ordered (bouquets, centerpieces, corsages, other decor, etc.) One of my bridesmaids has already reached out to book Macy for her own wedding this October because she's amazing--I truly can't say enough positive things about our experience with her.
