The flowers I ordered and what was sent for my uncle's funeral were two different things. I was out of the country so I phoned in the order. My cousins sent me a pic and video of the arrangement and it was horrible, like a child arranged it. It's so disappointing not to be present at the funeral and then to see how terrible the standing floral arrangement they did really made it so much worse. Don't use this place, it's not good. No accountability either, just excuses. Not dependable! read more

I spoke to Carl. He was very very nice. This was a special occasion, it was for my sister's 75th birthday. She had never received flowers from a florist before. Not that I know of anyway. She was shocked when they were delivered. She even weld up with tears. She said it was the biggest flower arrangement she has ever had. I highly recommend Raquel's Florist if you're shopping around. Proving that he's a manipulator and a liar. I highly recommend that you read the negative reviews before placing an order. Original post: I rarely leave reviews, but my experience with Raquel the Florist was so frustrating I felt compelled to warn others. The customer service here is shockingly bad. The person running the shop seems to operate entirely on their own schedule, with no regard for client needs, time sensitivity, or even basic communication. I tried working with them on a time-sensitive order, and not only were they unresponsive, but they also showed a complete lack of urgency or professionalism. It honestly felt like they were doing me a favor just by answering the phone -- when they did bother to answer. Deadlines were missed, follow-ups were ignored, and I was left scrambling at the last minute because they couldn't be bothered to do the bare minimum. The laziness and disregard for clients is astounding. If you value your time, your event, or just basic courtesy, look elsewhere. There are plenty of florists who actually respect their clients and take pride in their work -- Raquel is clearly not one of them. read more

My daughter had a destination wedding at a vineyard outside of Sacramento. Not knowing the area, I interviewed several florists and chose Raquel's. After speaking with them on the phone about color palette and flowers, I felt very comfortable with their understanding of our requirements and pricing. We met Carl and Edgard in May and were extremely happy with their helpfulness and professionalism. My daughter was nervous not seeing the actual colors or a sample arrangement, but when they brought the arrangements and bouquets the morning of the wedding, we were blown away with how beautiful everything was. Randomly selecting a florist for the most important day of my daughter's life could have been risky, but I would absolutely recommend Raquel's to anyone looking for stunning, gorgeous floral arrangements. A few months before our small wedding (~35 people), my fiance and I had emailed Raquel's Florist and had been in communication with Edgar. We emailed back and forth quite a bit about photos and what we wanted, and then had a consultation over the phone. Right off the bat Edgar was extremely rude on the phone and was 30 minutes late to our consultation. It was hard for me to convey what I wanted without him cutting me off with his own opinions and telling us what we wanted as opposed to the other way around. My fiance and I were on the phone consultation with him for about 40 minutes or so, and went through colors, flowers, and budgets. He promised to send us an invoice that night or the next day. A few days passed and we hadn't heard from him. This was a couple of months before our wedding and we needed to be 100% sure we'd have flowers for the big day. A week passed and we decided to call, no answer. My fiance sent Edgar an email to check in and to follow up on the consultation and invoice- nothing. 2 weeks later we decided to go with another florist that had much better reviews and one that didn't have a track record of screwing people's orders over (I should have been more thorough in reading previous reviews of Raquel's Florist but figured they had 4 stars so they must be good, right?). We sent Edgar one last email after choosing another florist to tell him that we won't be needing flowers from Raquel's anymore. Still nothing. SO, if you need flowers or an arrangement for an important day, DO NOT GET IT FROM EDGAR OR RAQUEL'S. It's stress you probably don't want to take on. read more

After my friend's family member died, I called up Raquel's to put together an arrangement and delivery. We spoke on a Thursday morning and they were available for same day delivery! I ended up scheduling it for "lunch hours" the next day, and they delivered at 11:30am. Just perfect! I requested a "pretty, seasonal bouquet" and informed them it was for a death in the family. They put together the most gorgeous all white bouquet. When my friend sent a photo I was so happy. She loves the flowers. Carl talked me through the options for the flowers I selected (Halcyon), and he was incredibly kind and compassionate while helping me every step of the way. I had to write this review before I forget. My parents had asked me to have a wreath delivered for their friend's mother for today. I called Edgard on Tuesday based on the reviews I found on here. He was very prompt and professional. He walked me through the website to select the wreath we wanted, processed the order and even told me that the message could be in Vietnamese as long as I send it to him via email. The flowers needed to be delivered by 9AM, I was told it was there by 9. He sent me a photo as well. There was a bit of misunderstanding because being from Southern CA in a heavy Vietnamese community where I grew up when one sends a wreath there would be a giant ribbon with the deceased's name and who it's from across the entire wreath. I took for granted that all wreaths looked like this. However, this was not communicated to Edgard and his team so only a card with our condolences and to the deceased family accompanied the wreath. The receiving family didn't know the wreath was for their mother because they didn't see a giant ribbon with their mother's name. My family flipped out when they thought that the flowers were not delivered, Edgard immediately explained the situation and sent me the photos which I forwarded to the family and everything was cleared up within a span of 10 minutes. Anyway, Edgard is great and he does great work! I would use him again if I ever need to send flowers to anyone in the Sacramento area in the future! I would suggest getting him on the phone and ordering the flowers that you see on the website, directly with him and cut out the middle man managing the website because I honestly think you'll get better flowers and service via the phone versus the web.
