At first, they were going to set a chair out for me, but then the tone shifted. They started asking what I needed, and shortly after, told me they wouldn't be able to take me--despite it being over an hour before closing. I have very low hair, no longer than a #2 guard, so I was surprised they turned me away for something so simple. For a barber school, I was shocked there was only one student working and no sense of professionalism--especially from the instructor. I honestly feel sorry for that student. I even called ahead of time to avoid this exact situation, and I don't appreciate having my time wasted and leaving without a haircut. If you're looking for a better experience, I highly recommend the Mastery Academy off of Orange. They're half the price, have a full staff, and the environment is friendly and welcoming. Total night and day difference.

Unfortunately my visits here have not been very good. Most of the students are using a lot of profanity and having inappropriate conversations . Not only did I feel like I had to cover my son's ears the whole time , but the students were also eating chips while cutting hair. I'm all for a fun learning environment but this place lacked any type of professionalism. You'll also be waiting for an extremely long time . Took 1.5 hrs to complete a simple kids haircut :( Came twice, but today will probably be my last visit here.

A wash and press would normally cost me about $55 + Tip at my normal hair salon. The only down side is at John Wesley it takes them a little longer to do the job (about 2.5 hours) for a press and curl when my normal shop takes about 1.5 hours. But they are students so I totally get it and I don't mind spending the extra hour. I am going to make it a point to go back every 2 weeks. Oh and FYI street parking only so bring lots of quarters to feed the meeter.

I see, I have to at least give him one star.I don't even want to do that, so here you go. Oh, one more thing. When you send these students out to get a job at a salon I pray for the salon, you have to teach them how to be a professional..
