I started going to Belris because I recently moved nearby and was looking for a new go-to spot. I've had a lash lift and tint here twice, and unfortunately both times the results did not last more than about 4 days. I'm not new to lash lifts, I've had many over the years at different places, and they've always held for at least 5 weeks so this was disappointing. The girls working there were very nice, and the space is convenient, but for the price you pay, I expected much better and longer-lasting results. I have given this place 2 chances now and both have been very bad. First time I went, I told the woman (Bel) to not use tint because I am allergic and to just be gentle with the skin around my eyes . She left residue on my eyelid (last photo) that i noticed after i left. Came back in to have her remove whatever was left over and i still ended up getting a bad reaction that caused me to have swollen and red eyelids. Second appointment (book Jackie this time hoping for a different outcome) i tell her what happened last time, she assures me she will be more careful. I did not get residue left over or a bad reaction, but my lashes are now super over processed, damaged, and brittle. They are so thin and sparse now I'm devastated. (This did not happen the first time) It was a noticeable difference. The brow lamination also caused my brows to feel very dry. Other than ... I noticed the hair she plucked out !! Why would she take a giant chunk of hair from the inner corner of my brow ?? It was not like that before my appointment and it was immediately like that after. I booked a 6am nanoblading appointment today at Belris Art and was genuinely excited after seeing so many positive reviews. Unfortunately, my experience was extremely uncomfortable from the start. I don't usually write reviews, but I felt compelled to share this because of how unwelcome I felt. The owner's demeanor felt dismissive as soon as I arrived. When I filled out the medical form and listed a medication I take, she made an unnecessary comment about it. She also pointed out that I hadn't eaten in nine hours and might get dizzy (at 6am...), which felt unreasonable and added to the sense that she wanted me to leave before the appointment even began. When we sat down to discuss my goals, I simply said I wanted a natural look and hoped to make my brows more even -- a very standard request. She spent nearly 30 minutes lecturing me how the service wasn't going to be perfect, instead of walking through options. At one point she asked if I was Asian, and then later stated that she "doesn't do Asian brows," which came across as discriminatory and unprofessional. She also referenced past clients who were unhappy and made another strange remark that "maybe they were on medication," which felt inappropriate and unnecessary. She ultimately told me she couldn't deliver the look I wanted and refunded my deposit (minus a $50 consultation fee). Very rude and unprofessional staff: I went to Belris this morning at a 9am appointment for lash lift and color and as soon as I seat down for the session another woman arrived and also had a 9am app. The artist told the woman to sit down and she would be with her shortly. -I keep reading about dismissive demeanor from plenty other clients on this app, that's exactly how I felt. She acted like she did not want to work on me but rather take the other client that was also booked at 9am. When she was about to start on me I explained to her how I have never done lash lift before and she looked at my lashes and said "your lashes are burnt", "or you cut your lashes" "I cannot work on it". Mind you I have really long and thick lashes that are great for this particular treatment. I was very confused on how she just decided she couldn't do my lashes and don't know what she was talking about, my lashes are virgin from any treatment. But since she's the professional I was trying to listen to her, but she kept saying it wouldn't look good with a very rude atitude in front of the other client. I explained that I have never burn or cut my lashes, not even lash lift or extension. But she kept insisting that I needed to leave bc she refused working on my lashes bc to her they looked "damaged" The worst thing is that she did not give me a solution or told me what she think I should do next she just invited me to leave and said I also should not look for another studio because I wasn't a good candidate for lash lift. Even if she was right she didn't treat me well. She was saying all of those things about how dry my lashes were in front of the other client. It was embarrassing! Since this was the first place I've ever been to I did go for a second opinion and they were shocked that someone would not work on my lashes because of "damage" they did my lashes beautifully and I'm very happy with the results. Ps.: I'm a public person I could have easily made a bigger deal on my social media. I got my lashes done here about three days ago. I'm not new to lash extensions, but I recently moved to the area and was looking for a new go-to spot. The studio is visually appealing and had great reviews, so I decided to give it a try. Unfortunately, I was really disappointed with the results. I paid $220 for hybrid lashes, and they were by far the thinnest set I've ever received especially considering the high price point. Even right after the appointment, they looked sparse, and now just a few days later, they look even thinner whereas normally my extensions can last 2-3 weeks max before a refill. I reached out via email to share my concerns, and the response I got was off-putting. I was told they reviewed the camera footage and saw that I looked happy and even left a cash tip--almost as if that invalidated my experience. I didn't realize that in order for a complaint to be taken seriously, I would've needed to act rude or not tip the esthetician. While they did offer to add more lashes, the tone of the response and the reliance on camera footage rather than client satisfaction left a bad impression. At this price point, the quality of both the lashes and the customer service should reflect a premium experience. The one positive thing I can say is that my eyes weren't irritated from whatever product they used, so that's a good plus for anyone with sensitive eyes. read more

Bel is an incredible lash technician with immense knowledge of lash health. the establishment is spotless, well-decorated, and extremely comfortable, making for a very professional experience. the set i got from her was great. that said, i don't think i'm the ideal clientele for this business, so i won't be returning. i'll admit my aftercare routine isn't the most consistent, which was pointed out to me, and i had on a set from a friend who's learning to be a lash technician. during our conversation, i got the sense that Bel wasn't too thrilled about that, haha. when i was leaving, she told me, "when you find a lash technician you like, make sure you go to them regularly and practice good aftercare," which i took as a gentle nudge that i might be a better fit elsewhere. i'm totally fine with businesses that self-select their clients, and i respect that this studio is best suited for those who are very dedicated to their lash care. if you're someone who takes their lash routine seriously, you'll probably love it here! but if you're more casual about your lashes, this might not be the best fit. read more

Just booked an appt last night here at 10:00am today for a classic set, I did not see a section to add removal so I included it in the notes. I called around 9:30am no one answered I left a voicemail stating I would be there closer to 10:15 am. When I booked the appt there was availability all day. When I arrived they had already charged my cc the full $195 for the no show fee. And told me they would only be able to apply a certain amount of lashes when I told them I needed the removal as well they said I would have had to add that separately ( even though I explained I didn't see it as an option ) and included it in the notes of the appt. (How could they accept an appt. w out reading the notes? ) so regardless of me running 15 min late they wouldn't have been able to take me regardless bc they never accounted for the removal. When I tried to mitigate this misunderstanding and asked to reschedule she said they don't accommodate reschedules. Aside from this the woman working the front desk was rude/ dismissive and completely lacked a professional decorum. They only cared about collecting the money. I get my lashes done often in NYC, Miami other places in LA and have never experienced anything like this before. This place has a stereotypical judgmental LA feel where if you don't look the part they you are not considered worthy which is off putting bc I live in Los Angeles and have never experienced treatment like this before at any establishment. Perhaps they do a good job at lashes but I would never give a business w this mentality my money if I had known. I already disputed this charge w my cc company and am confident it won't go through based on the fact that they didn't allot time for the removal even though I included it in the notes. In response to owner- I just checked and I booked the service at 6:30pm last night not at 5am.. you called me one time after I left the voicemail at 10:18am I picked up and told you I was parking and would be there in one min. I did not see an option for the removal service when booking otherwise would have added it therefore put it in the notes to ensure technician was informed. And of course anticipated it would be an extra charge. You charged the no show cancellation fee prior to even calling me when I had tried calling and left a voicemail earlier that morning to let you know I would be running 15 min late to see if you could accommodate or rebook. I've NEVER in my entire life been KICKED OUT of a business before. She just said, "This is my business and I CAN DO WHATEVER I WANT!" I feel like this business owner is very CHAUVANISTIC in her business practices. If you're NOT MIDDLE EASTERN, you'll be treated and made to feel like the business owner is doing you some sort of FAVOR by handing over your $650 to her.
