It was a tough transition going from grandma to a new environment but the staff was amazing at helping our boy feel at home and to calm my nerves. The teachers are amazing Mrs. Ashley & Carolina are so caring and always keep us up to date on how our boy is doing. Our son has learned so much at school it's always amazing seeing the things he comes home to share. He barely had a chance to socialize before but I am so happy he now has made friends and he looks forward to seeing them everyday. KinderCare has an app that they update you on throughout the day about naps, meals and diaper changes. They also send you photos throughout the day so you can see what your kid is up to. We even got an update when a small earthquake happened letting us know how the kids were doing. My family and I had a such a great experience at the kindercare in Pennsylvania. Once we moved to Long Beach to get my daughter transitioned into her new classroom it was literally a mess. Their communication is horrible, and clearly disorganized. We received conflicting information on a start date, they only answer the phone 10% of the time and definitely does not return phone calls, even after messages were left to schedule a visit which never happened. This was very upsetting, since in our hearts we were set on this learning center, but after the first few months of trying to communicate and the red flags popping up it led me to not trust them. Love this place! My child has attended Belmont Shore KinderCare for the past two years, she loves it!!! Every morning when I take her to school she's all excited and it makes me feel happy and safe, she loves her teachers and her little school. The teachers are amazing and Monica Gonzalez the Director Rocks!!! My daughter started going here at 5 months and she's now over 2yrs old. It was during Covid so we would only drop her off and didn't see her classroom. But they give updates with activities, pictures and videos throughout the day. This made us feel better to know what she's been doing. She has grown to be a happy and confident toddler. Her teachers have been nurturing and address any concerns that I encounter. The center is very careful with any sign of sickness and update us right away. Another great factor is that they are NUT free. Meals served are arranged to be healthy but allergen free. I get it. There are very few daycares in Long Beach with hours for working parents. But if at all possible, don't send your little ones to Kindercare Belmont Shore, especially the toddler program. I sent my 1.5/2 year old to Kindercare for 6 months before I pulled her out. Ever since she moved in the twos room, I was dismayed by the constant teacher turnover. One teacher, who I complained about because she spoke to the kids inappropriately, got fired for physically abusing a toddler. The teachers in the toddler room didn't seem to care about the kids at all. They were always on their iPads during pick ups and drop offs. They could never tell me about my daughter's day. They seemed to have no training in child development. When I asked the head of school, Jennifer, what the hiring requirements were, she said it was the minimum 12 units in child development. That's it. When I would pick up my Daughter , she was just sitting at a table waiting for me. No playing, no music, no fun. Also, if you do a tour, play attention to the decoration in the toddler rooms. There is none. The rooms are bare. They told us it was because it was a new room. Six months later, almost no toys, no art, no books. It felt like I dropped off my daughter to baby prison. No yard time. They only allowed the toddlers 40 minutes of outdoor time in the morning and 40 minutes in the afternoon. I removed my daughter from the school when I picked her up at 5:15pm and she was in a poopy diaper. The poop was crusty on her bottom, indicating it had been there for hours. I checked their log and the last potty was at 11am. My daughter wasn't even supposed to be in a diaper. She is potty trained. I believe her teachers put her in a diaper so they wouldn't have to take her to the potty. I filed a complaint with DPSS and they sustained it against KinderCare because the evidence was so clearcut. I wish I had never sent my baby there and I hope you don't make the same mistake. I gave KinderCare two stars because the preschool program is adequate. It is not a good program. I don't recommend it. But my 4 year old enjoyed it and at least the hours are good. But if you have any other option, don't send your kids to Kindercare read more

Our son started in the infant room and will be transitioning to the toddler room soon at Belmont Shore KinderCare. We have been really happy with our experience with the staff at the center and feel like our son is getting the best care possible. He loves his teachers and you can tell that the teachers truly care for him and his well-being. We also appreciate the open communication and updates on the app to let us know how our son is doing on a daily basis. I wanted to wait until we had some experience at our new facility before writing a review, but now I'm even more livid about our time at KinderCare based on comparison. The building is nice and we appreciated the technology, but the care is not worth the high price tag. It's such an impersonal environment with a revolving door of staff. My child attended from 11 months to 15 months. Our experience included: Terrible hygiene: my child's hands and face were absolutely filthy every afternoon. Constant drool rash. Nose crusted with old snot. We spent every single weekend trying to cure a diaper rash. They were frequently so bad they formed blisters and bled. Many days I changed my child in the car before heading home. Found my child sucking on another baby's bottle upon pickup (grabbed from an unsecured diaper bag) Fed listed allergens twice. Didn't apply sunscreen and took the babies outside in 90+ heat. Unreliable reports of what had been eaten Constant rotation of strangers, we never knew the names of the caregivers No activities or structure. The babysitters considered waving around flashlights or turning on a bubble machine to be the activity of the day. We only received ONE piece of art made by our child the entire time we were enrolled. I could go on about the disorganization, poor communication (despite having the tools to easily communicate) and bare-bones approach to "learning", but I'd rather start to forget this awful chapter. It has been a month since we switched and my child has had ZERO diaper rashes, vocabulary (sounds and signs) has exploded and hasn't gotten sick. Our child's naps are two hours long, where at KinderCare they were typically 30-50mins. The staff is recognizable and I feel we are building a relationship and are part of a community. In sum, KinderCare is disappointing and unsafe and I wouldn't recommend sending your child here unless they are old enough to speak up for themselves. read more

I set up a tour via zoom and no one showed up. I then emailed regarding the no show and was told that I could set up another day. I provided days that I was available and once again no response. If there's no availability, they can kind of just say that instead of ghosting. It seems unorganized and disrespectful to not respond and not show up to meetings. read more

We had a terrible experience in this daycare program. I sent my son here when we moved to Long Beach because of the mostly positive reviews and at the time, the small amount of licensing issues. It was also one of the only daycares with openings for the next couple months. After 9 days I removed him. When he began, he was happy, outgoing, vivacious, loving, and open to activities. After 9 days, he cried before and after, would not remove his hood, refused to go to the bathroom in his diaper while in school, and was scared of returning. When I spoke with the director and asst director, they would not allow me to visit the classroom, meet the teachers, etc. I pulled him out immediately and am still sick that I had him there for 9 days. The very next week he started at a new center and immediately returned to his old self. It's been a year and a half now and he is loving preschool and so thrilled everyday to be in that environment. If you send your child here, I would advise keeping a very close eye on them and to check out the licensing information and the multiple complaints this facility has. read more

As a new mom, you can imagine how stressful and anxiety inducing picking daycare is, especially during a pandemic. But it was fate that we landed a spot here in their infant program! The teachers Miss Monica and Miss Ana are amazing and so patient. They always post pictures of the cutest activities that my son is participating in. I love how thorough they are with updating the app because my son has silent reflux so it was always a toss up of whether he would eat. The teachers have the magic touch with him and post at what time he finishes his bottles and solids. Miss Regina is the director and she is so efficient. My 19th month old daughter has been here since September 2017 and I could not be happier. I tried two other daycares prior to BSKC and both were very lacking. One of the the others is a home based care that is VERY highly rated here on Yelp, but I can say with all honestly it didnt even compare to what we receive here. My daughter loves it! She loves her teachers, she loves interacting with the other kids and she has blossomed. She is there from 8am-5pm so it's sooooo important to me that she's comfortable and feels loved. From the Directors and all the way down through the staff ranks, I have zero complaints. Sure, no daycare is PERFECT, and there's always something that you would do differently or can be improved. I am a firm believer in "don't fix it if it isn't broken." Prior to moving to Long Beach my son attended Kindercare from infancy until he became school age. They offered great structured curriculum, individualized care and amazing teachers. When I moved to Long Beach I decided to try a different child care closer to work. This was a nightmare. Within the time my daughter attended the center (2months) it was cited 4 times by the state board, and my daughter constantly had items missing (diapers,wipes, food). I switched to an in home child care which is highly recommended in the area. This was worse, the first day the director complained my baby cried too much. On day 2 she was already talking about finding a new place for her. By day 3 I put in my notice and was ready to quit working. I then received a call from Kindercare and was immediately relieved. With 3 months trying other places I finally realized I should have stuck with what I knew, Kindercare. Since day 1 my daughter has been comfortable. The treachers are attentive, loving and kind. The directors are helpful and personable. My family couldn't be happier with her attending Kindercare. Let me start by saying this definitely shouldn't be a 4 star childcare center, they deserve all 5 stars! My children have been going here for going on a year now & I have nothing but great things to say. The teachers & staff are so patient, so understanding, so kind, & treat the children like family. I'm going to be honest, my 1 year old is A LOT to deal with. I always ask "How's Calii?" & they always respond "She's great! We love her here, she's so funny!" My kids wake up happy every morning to go to school, half the time when I drop them off they don't even say bye lol. They immediately run to class without a care in the world that I'm leaving them. I feel like my kids have learned a lot while here & they've also learned how to socialize/play with other kids in an appropriate manner. They have little spirit weeks & activities planned for the kids throughout the week, they hold parent/teacher conferences, & everything else you'd want from a childcare that your children attend. I wrote this back in May of 2016 and I wasn't going to post it, but my wife encouraged me to do it after we noticed that the staff here has now screwed over a couple of other people as well: Don't be fooled. This place looks good, but if they guarantee you a spot for a deposit, you may have a problem. We were guaranteed an August spot for Infant Care by Lea, the assistant director, back in January of 2016 if we put down a $100 deposit, and we jumped at the chance. Now that it's May of 2016 and the baby is here, we're doing slightly paranoid due diligence and calling the places we're wait-listed for, and you can imagine my dismay when Bernice, the director, waffled on us and reneged on the guarantee, despite the deposit. I realize it's early to be checking in on this stuff, but if you require infant care, don't you think you'd check in early, too? Instead, I spoke to someone who seemed to be trying to cover a mistake that somebody made, where it was her or another administrator. To her credit, Bernice told us to call in July to check in again. However, we need to make sure we have guaranteed care as early as possible, not later when we might be screwed. Furthermore, we've called around to other Kindercare facilities. Pam, the director at the Cerritos branch, was quite surprised and shocked that Bernice and her staff took deposits without a cemented spot, and told us that it's against company policy without guaranteeing spots. I can't speak for the quality of the rest of the staff-- everything certainly looked okay when we toured earlier this year-- but I don't have a very good feeling about a place where the administration can't follow through and shakily provides excuses. read more

I absolutely love KinderCare. I have both my kids here and they love their teachers and all the fun activities. My daughter has been going here since she was 2 and my son started when he was 18 months. It was hard leaving them in the beginning but after a week they didn't even look back to say goodbye. The teachers and staff are amazing. There is an app that they use to send you pictures of what your child is doing that day and every meal, diaper change, nap and it is really gives the parents peace of mind. My daughter now 3 just started the phonics class to help with reading and I already see she is learning so much. She also started the cooking class and she comes home so excited to tell me about it. They always do fun parties for every holiday which gets the parents involved which is how I got to know the other parents. My kids have learned so much while being here and are so happy being here. I love KinderCare and so does my son! I looked at 5+ options of daycare when my husband and I made the decision for me to continue working. KinderCare Belmont Shore stood out to me for many reasons - the cleanliness, the organization, the friendly staff, and the willingness to let me hang around just observing both teachers and kids. At 22 months, our son attends part-time (2-days a week) and I feel such a sense of community and caring there every time I drop him off. Each class has monthly educational themes/lesson plans which it follows offering continuous learning. They do art projects all the time and constantly take and share pictures of your child drawing, painting, playing, etc which helps the parents feel connected to their children's classroom activities despite not being there. During the summer, they do special daily activities like "Thomas the Train Rides" and "Bouncy Houses" which gives the children a sense of that wonderful summer feeling! I feel very fortunate to have found such a wonderful daycare for our son and highly recommend parents to take a look at Kindercare when considering a full-time or part-time daycare in the Long Beach area. read more

I have been taking my son to Kindercare for 4 years now and I can say that it has been a blast. Bernice and Renee they make sure they greet the kids and the parents as you enter the room and they also make sure they get to know each parent. My son is in per-K now, his teacher is Ms. Christina and she has fun with the kids and teaches the at the same time. And i spoke to another parent and she was telling me that her son started kinder and he was more then prepare for it. My daughter just started in July and she loves it. I drop her off in the toddlers with Ms. Maria, Ms. Taina and Ms. Heyday they are always so welcoming. My daughter jumps out of my arms to get to Ms. Taina every morning. I also love that they take pictures because i know what they are doing all day. They also make sure the change there diaper every 2 hours. All in all Kindercare belmont shore is very clean and everyone is so kind and helpful. Disappointed. We were put on the wait list in January and paid $100 for our spot. We were told we would be in the program for sure in November. This caused us to make plans for that and stop looking elsewhere. Late June we get a phone call saying we no longer had a spot because they didn't have room anymore. All mothers are terrified of leaving their babies in the hands of a complete stranger on a daily basis...and I was one of them! I have had the most amazing experience at this Kinder Care. Not once did I feel it was a just another child care business trying to milk me for money...it felt rather like an extension of my family. The teachers in the toddlers classroom are so hands-on and excellent at giving you a daily report and your child's progress. Since my daughter started there, they have made me feel like she's their only child they are watching because they pay attention to each child so individually. Today is my daughters last day because we are relocating and I am so sad to see her go. She RUNS into kinder care now to see her friends and asks to go there on the weekend! My son has been going here about a year or so now, started around 9 months he is now going on 20mths ( 1 and a half yrs old). It's not cheap, but with all that they get out of it, the money is definitely worth it. It is very clean and professional environment, and all of the teachers have been very friendly. I value the corporate structure, and quality assurance that it provides. We also appreciate the regular feedback we get on the kids, whether it is the daily reports telling what they ate and discussed in class that day, or the semi-annual teacher conferences. My daughter started 5 1/2 months old (in March 2015), and we have been very happy here! She is happy and smiling each morning when we pull up and doesn't have any anxiety when it's time for me to say goodbye. It's such a comfort to know that she's content there. The staff is friendly and loving to my little one and always attentive to my needs. They follow all of our requests and ask us about changing up schedules, etc. based on what they see in her daily patterns. My daughter has learned so much here, from social interaction, to eating on her own, to artwork, etc. It's been great. We looked at several other options (there aren't many in LB that take infants), and this was really the only one that I was comfortable leaving my daughter at every day. She's thriving and having a great time. I'm a happy and content mommy knowing she's there. There's also a gate and then a security code-protected door, which is nice. As a bonus, the little projects they do (like for Mother's Day and Father's Day) will warm your heart! At the corporate level, they have a good (recently updated) online payment system which makes things easy. We are moving on now to a different preschool that our older daughter went to and we always planned on this one attending, but it's a very bittersweet goodbye.
