They charged me $275 for gutter cleaning ( kind of high , but ok since I couldn't do it myself) and then another $75 for repair, that was never done . Tried contacting them numerous times to get a refund of $75. No luck .

In my mind, there were only a few possibilities: the lines needed to be re-pitched, the ditch connection needed to be lowered, or the whole system was somehow hydraulically inadequate. I had this drainage system installed just last fall, so the idea that it could already be clogged seemed impossible. Enter A+ Gutters & Drains. They came out the very same day I called. After I walked them through my highly sophisticated theory of grades, elevations, pitch, and drainage design, we headed to the discharge point at the street ditch. The technician took one look and smiled. "There really shouldn't be a glued-on end cap with a tight grill on it. These tend to back up and clog." "No way. Not already," I replied. "Would you like me to check?" he asked. A few minutes later, after attempting to pry it off with a screwdriver, the cap ultimately had to be cut off with a Sawzall. What was waiting inside? Inches of roof shingle granules, debris, and enough gunk to completely prove my engineering theory wrong. In about five minutes, A+ solved the mystery that I had mentally escalated into a full-scale drainage reconstruction project. To their credit, they graciously cut off the other problematic caps as well and explained why they were destined to clog. No upsell. No unnecessary work. Just an honest diagnosis and a simple fix. As I stood there processing the fact that my "catastrophic drainage failure" was really just a blocked outlet, the technician smiled and said, "Bring on the rain." And with that, he was off. Some more than 5K for a 100 foot drain line. When I contacted A+ for an estimate, they beat the nearest estimate by almost $1500 dollars. That's a big savings. What's the difference? The other companies who bid the job showed up in fancy jumpsuits and vinyl laminate work vans with computers inside. The guys from A+ showed up in tshirts and a red station wagon. They were polite, worked very hard, and had the job completed in two days which is what I was estimated. They also showed up to start the job within 1 business days of OUPS flagging the utilities on our property before the dig. I would recommend A+ for anyone looking for quality work at a great price. Before he started we chatted briefly about what my goals were and why I was interested in the audit. We came up with three goals and went from there. He tested the air quality of my home and did a blower door test. We found some surprising areas that was losing heat and were inefficient. He was helpful in ideas for quick home fixes to making a list of problem areas to focus on. I was pleased with the whole experience. I wouldn't have realized energy audits were a thing until I spoke with a co-worker who recently had one conducted. I am glad I got one done on my home. Ace discovered that the prior roofer(2017) had failed to seal a gap between the shingles and the edge of the chimney. The roof that was replaced was two layers, and when it was replaced with one layer, that left an inch or so gap between the shingles and and chimney, which they failed to seal and also failed to install proper flashing so that water would drain away from the chimney. Ace repaired the issue and their price was very reasonable. Recently, I noticed paint cracking and dampness in a ceiling. I called the company that installed the roof-as it is nearing the end of the warranty. They sent someone who said he saw nothing wrong, and claimed they might need better ventilation. He said someone would call. No one did. I called Ace, he went up and saw the source of the problem, a bullet hole-likely there from someone's errant New Year's celebration. He fixed the issue within 15 minutes. Ace is responsive, and most important, he acts with integrity and his assessments are credible. Irrespective of 'warranties,' I trust him and will always call him first.

Also, while completing the project, I called in numerous times to complain, I would have people come out at the end, but after several services calls and nothing accomplished, I finally stopped fighting and said I would leave a review. My initial Research into radon companies on Google leaned me towards clean air so I set up the free consult. Seems to be a small family outfit and my first appointment had to get cancelled because of a sick child which is perfectly understandable. The next day was a blizzard but my evaluator Kathleen was a super trooper and made it out anyways despite the snow. She had the assessment wrapped up in under 20 minutes and I was able to get a estimate in hand less than an hour later through email. She was also able to recommend me a great plumbing service g&m which I used to voluntarily replace my sump pump prior to sealing the sump pump system off. Since my concrete basement slab did not have any major cracks or fissures exposing gravel beneath the system would only require ceiling off the sump well and installation of an exhaust system. Quoted price came in around $900. Installation of the mitigation system was painless on my end. Installer was on site maybe 2 hours. He did track some mud in the house so if it is a wet day I'd keep a keen eye on shoe removal or ask them to use booties if they have them. Work was good however with snug fit and everything looked clean and professional inside and outside of the home. After clean air did their installation they left behind a electronic sampling station. Within the first 13 hours my radon level had dropped from 8 to .8 which seemed unrealistic to me. On further investigation I found that this is an obtainable goal through a combination of the large gauge pipe that they used to exhaust and the short half-life of radon. I also conducted my own post mitigation testing with another round of first alert carbon traps 2 weeks later and confirmed the level at .8 All in all total cost came in under my expected budget oh, and I'm very satisfied with the results and knowledge that my kids aren't rolling the dice on lung cancer when playing in my basement. I enjoy working with small family businesses and would recommend these guys.
