I had a leak in the drain from the washer and dryer in the kitchen so it was gray water. It's not a…read morebig leak, but it was a leak and was starting to smell under the house so I called one plumbing company and they were real busy for at least a week and I called Ray Lusk and they could be there in 30 minutes and they were and he looked at it. He took pictures. He took a video. I knew exactly what they were gonna do he said OK let me make a phone call. See how much they wanna charge you came back. This is not a big deal. It was cutting out cast-iron and putting in PVC in place so at the most maybe a two hour job at the most he came back with almost a $2000 bill which was outrageous. I couldn't believe it. I said well you know I can't afford that. I guess I'll just have to put up with it so he left. He came back with a $1200 bill and I said no I'm not doing that either. He finally came back one more time with $1000 at the most they should've called $600. It was a $15 stick. It was a 10 foot stick of 3 inch PVC I looked it up no excuse me 2 inch PVC I looked it up. It cost $15. I did it because I didn't have any choice. I needed it done that day because I was going back to work and I didn't know if there would be another plumber available. Someone had paid the money, but that is outrageous. That is outrageous that is thievery that they would even think that I would be that stupid to believe that it cost that much it's outrageous and I'll never call them back again. If I have time to get somebody else, I will not the job was top quality you ain't gonna have to worry about they did. He did a great job. He showed me pictures, but to me that was just an insult. I called 3 or 4 plumbers, including 2 who I had used before (I called about 8:30am). S&K was the only one who could come out today. The guy I talked to said they would come out, look at the problem and give me an estimate. At 11:45 the plumber called to say he was on his way (the clock is running). He arrived a couple of minutes before noon (the clock is running). He looked under the house, came out and said he had to go get some parts because he didn't have what he needed on his truck.(the clock is still running) He left about 12:15 and returned at 12:30. He crawled under the house, worked for about 10 minutes, came out and went to his truck.(the clock is running) At 12:45 he handed me a bill for almost $200.00. He had billed me for 2 hours labor @ 87.50 per hour. I asked why he hadn't given me an estimate like the guy on the phone said he would, he said he didn't know anything about that. I called S&K and talked to the same guy I had talked to in the morning. He said he would look into it. He called back about an hour later. He said that the GPS on the plumbers truck showed that the plumber was on my street 20 minutes earlier than I said, that I must be wrong. I said that my street is only 50 yards long (if that) and a dead end and that I was on my porch watching for him. We argued for at least 15 minutes, during which time the plumber finished whatever he was doing, (probably calling the next customer to start the clock rolling on the labor charge; they start charging labor from the time that they begin driving toward your house) and drove away. Finally, the guy on the phone said OK, we will only charge 1 hour labor. 3 weeks later I get an invoice for the full amount. Apparently lying about company policy, lying about time on the job and lying to customers is company policy for S&K Plumbing. 2 stars only because they fixed the leak, 0 stars for honesty and integrity.
