Efficient air was assigned to service 2 a/c units by my home warranty company. The technician Alex was very knowledgeable and helpful with all my questions. this summer seemed hotter than Norma and the systems were working overtime, at least that is how I felt. After Alex finished he even took pictures of the before and after and shared those with me. My a/c has not turned on nearly half as much that it has in the past to keep the house cool. This used to be a great HVAC business. No more. Here's why I say that, I bought a $5000 garage air conditioner for my raining business in garage. Two weeks later, it started blowing warm air. I called this company and it took them a week to come out and the technician said the Freon was low. It took them another 2 1/2 weeks to come out with the Freon and the technician told me no, the Freon is too high. Now it's not blowing cool at all and they're putting me on the back burner because the AC unit is in the garage, even though I just bought it, it's under warranty and the people I train haven't been able to work out for a month. My son called them to come out and replace a compressor on his AC unit. They came out, charged him $200 for the call and required a 10% deposit for the compressor. Technician said it would be in the next day. Four days later and counting.....silence Find someone else, please. read more

Horrible experience. I tried to give this company a chance as the people are wonderful but the expertise is not. I called for a regular service about 1.5 years ago and since that time I have had nothing but one issue after another and many $$ later my AC is still not working. I was told I had a leak, then needed coil replacement, faulty damper motor and on and on. Not working again this week and when I called I was charged an after hour service fee and they showed up at 2:30pm? Was told this is another new issue and need to pay another $500. I will pass and use someone different I have to stop the bleeding at this point. Efficient Air you need to stand behind your work and fix what you have created vs charging again and again. Note my unit was only 3 years old when this started - 4 years now, should not need this many repairs. Also the wait between visit and repairs has sometimes been many days waiting on parts and scheduling, after a 2 week wait for a part they showed up with the wrong part and had to order again. read more

First off, I had to follow up with efficient air to even get the quote back! There was NO proactivity here! Then looking over the quote, the pricing is off the charts, period! $4,248 for a simple 1-ton 115v mirage mini-split is bordering on daylight robbery! Just to show how bad this pricing is, I compared against my TWO prior mini-split purchases from EfficientAir. * 5.13.23 2-ton Mirage mini-split = $3,500.00 or $1,750/ton installed. * 8.22.24 1.5-ton Mirage mini-split = $3,950.00 or $2,633/ton installed. * 6.11.25 1-ton Mirage mini-split = $4,248.00 or $4,248/ton installed proposal. I had an HVAC tune-up done today. Jacob was very thorough and did his job really well. In my 20+ years living here in AZ, he is the best technician I've met. He explained what he will do and when he was done he explained about his findings and recommendations. He draws everything for you so it's easy to understand. From the first, this company has been professional, thorough and efficient - which can be tricky when going through a home warranty. We worked with Andrew, Jonathan, Miguel, Manuel, Renee, Andy and DJ. All of them were great and there was never a 'hard sell' for our new ac unit. They stuck with us after a tricky installation to make sure everything worked properly and gave us their word that they would take care of us for the life of our air conditioner. American Home Sheild assigned Efficient Air. Both companies are terrible - I filed a consumer complaint at * https://difi.az.gov/ * AZ Department of Insurance and Financial. This experience feels like Winston Garage Doors assigned by Choice about 6 months ago. Slow walk the repair while trying to sell a new system. Wondering if AHS is the new Choice Warranty now that Choice is under AZ Atty General lawsuit for fraud? They even use the same department names 'Resolutions Dept' if you want to cancel contract. Efficient took 5 days to come out to diagnose in June. Tech could not find the problem but tightened and cleaned things and got it going, yet said he was going to 'condemn the compressor'. He did not think it would continue to run consistently. We told him that compressor was only 5 years old! 24 hours later Efficient still had not even submitted report to AHS! When we called to tell them to do that, Oscar pitched replacing our Trane 2.5 ton for some off brand for $9k after their 'special discount'. (9K is retail) He pitched again after AHS denied any fix because 'tech says pre-existing condition h/o would have known'. The entire ordeal took 10 days. We had just serviced both Dad's units April 12, 2024, got a good report. So preexisting condition is a lie and insult. Oscar spoke with us twice trying to sell a new unit, never asked how Dad was dealing with heat, never asked if the unit was still running or cooling (it is), never called to discuss other options or ask what WE wanted to do. He just wanted to sell a new system. Whatever the tech had done to tighten or clean connections seemed to have worked, for now. I have actually had an AC unit fixed by Choice warranty in 2021, diagnosed, approved and repaired in an hour. Still running fine. My dad had the compressor replaced by One Guard 5 years ago. Running fine. His Trane units are 19 yr old. My Trane is 32 yr old, still works great. low electric bills. Keep them maintained and they can last longer than some AC companies want you to believe. ** revised from 1 to 2 star because they did get the system going... 1st week Aug 6th (Temp @109*) Efficient Air Technician came to my house and diagnose my problem. Compressor blew up and blew the capacitor- 2 items needs to be replaced. He said my unit is old and the compressor Part number is washed up so it might be a little delay in getting the part. I was ok with it and patiently waited. 2nd week Aug 13(Temp@106*) heard nothing so I called the Efficient air in the middle of the week, turns my insurance company never ordered the Part, because they had no updates. My insurance fault, ok I was upset but maybe miscommunication or something but they had the part come in finally the end of the week and schedule to come the 3rd week Aug 20 (Temp@111*). Now 3rd week Aug 20 (Temp@111*) comes by and they replace the compressor and the capacitor & turns out my coil in the attic is bad, so now I need new coils. I couldn't run the unit until they replace the coil in the attic. This is Arizona and we are having Heat Warnings and I have two elderly retired family member that live with me and I told Efficient Air and my Insurance but they didn't care. Now 4th week Aug 28(Temp@104*) they get the coils and come back and says the new compressor is defected and they won't install the new coils until they get a new compressor replaced. OMG, I feel this Efficient Air company is screwing with me and my family!! my mother went in the emergency that weekend because of a heat stoke & dehydration from being in the house that has no AC working. The technician said he had customer who went 3 months without AC. I don't understand what he is getting with that story but I let them fool me for almost 5 weeks. It would have been officially 5 weeks on Sept 6. I had a long letter written to BBB & the attorney general office and I was going to email it to whoever can help me resolve this issue. It's not fair!! And if you are wondering yes, we do have a little portable unit in the bedrooms but still does not help much, especially when we live in Arizona. Week 5 Sept 5 (Temp@115*) finally after talking to my insurance and telling them my mom just got discharge from the hospital and it was Labor Day weekend also so Efficient Air is only open Tuesday-Friday 8am-4pm.My AC is finally fixed! They came on Sept 5. My AC went out on August 2, 2024 @ around 4PM. I'm am happy it finally got fixed but I feel like they could have gotten it done sooner. I don't recommend this place & leaving my horror experience for others to read & be cautious. I learned a valuable lesson My insurance is American Home Shield. The communication with them was a horrible experience. I called them every week and multiple family members also helped but it still took me 5 weeks to get it done. I did call other places but could not afford to just replace the unit, since it was summer the prices are expensive. I did not Want to make bad choices when my ac is out because it was hard to focus and yes it did affect me at work and especially at home. Yes I did have my ac inspected before the summer hit but I don't have control of when my AC dies. read more

I recently had 2 separate AC unit service appointments with Efficient Air and both technicians assigned, Lazurus Wright and Marco (LNU) were professional and very knowledgeable on all things HVAC. They arrived on time, worked quickly and kept me informed of all necessary repairs/upgrades needed, for my AC unit to perform efficiently. Lazurus and Marco answered all my questions, offered suggestions to keep my AC unit (a 22 year old unit) not only working, but providing the coolest temperatures possible, here in the AZ desert. They took in consideration the age of the unit, and provided valuable information on maintenance and possible replacement units. I have a home warranty and the technician refused service unless I paid for a cleaning that is not covered by the warranty. I would not recommend this company to anyone. After talking to management, they agreed to complete the repair after I had someone else clean the unit. read more

Had our AC serviced and inspected by Lee. Great Technician, explained everything as he was going through the system. Even went into the attic to check the air handlers and heating portion of the system. It was 110 degrees on the ground. It had to be 130 plus in the attic. I live in California and I have a second property in Arizona and doing Buisness with this company has been so easy from last year when they were sent out by my home warranty company so I decided to replace my unit since my compressor was out and was an older unit . I contacted them and the very next day they sent out a technician and they provided me with a quote for the unit without trying to upsell and work was performed as promised. If you live in Arizona call this company if your looking for great customer service and professional technicians , And at a reasonable price with some additional perks like maintenance on the unit with a 10 year warranty! Like many other people that have posted reviews, my home warranty company is American Home Shield. Efficient was the company AHS used to repair my upstairs unit that wouldn't cool below 80 during the day. My window was set for 10am - 2pm. Lee called a little after 11am to let me know he'd be there in 30 minutes, which he was. In about an hour, Lee had my upstairs cooling and comfortable. Lee was a pleasure to work with and would recommend asking for him if Efficient is flexible like that. No complaints and would use Efficient again. read more

My AC went out after a power surge. Called efficient air and they sent out Dj to trouble shoot the issue. Came out to be the zone board. Dj didn't leave us hanging without AC. He bypassed the system to use one thermostat and have AC until the board arrived. When it arrived he installed it and made sure everything was functioning correctly. My AC was not getting my home under 85 degrees (it's 100 outside) so I called American Home Shield and they assigned my case to Efficient Air. A tech came out 2 days later and was not very knowledgeable. Upon the tech's arrival we put our Rottweiler in our office. Our unit was frozen so we had to turn on the heater to help thaw it out (the tech was on the phone with someone walking him thru what to do almost the entire time). He finally said he needed a part and would return the next day to install it. As he was leaving we told him when he closed the gate that we were going to let our dog out of the office so he could be in his yard. The next day I get a call from Oscar saying that the part was under warranty and that it could take 3-4 days to get approval for them to replace the part and then they would schedule the return visit for the install. Moments later I get a call from American Home Shield that Efficient air is not willing to come back to our home because we threatened the tech with letting out the dog (WHAT - Really). And that we were mad that our unit was frozen - not true (frustrated cuz we've already been hot for 3 days maybe). Why did Oscar not tell me the truth I guess he doesn't care about the customers at all - I did call Oscar back and told him he might want to watch the tech because he was not being truthful (trying to be nice)... So end result I call another company (Liberty AC) and the tech comes out the same day and within an hour I have COLD AIR and a house cooling down and by evening it was 70 degrees. Hmmm if the 1st tech would have been knowledgeable maybe it could have happened when he was there. Thanks Liberty Air you are fantastic and Efficient Air you could take some lessons. Gwen read more

(continued from below) In our conversations, Oscar initially states that we were only upset because the other HVAC company was trying to start trouble. He admitted that he knew there was a mistake made with the warranty info but avoided taking responsibility for it and wanting to make things right for us. He even laughed at us when we told him what our expectations were and then proceeded to threaten to come after us legally for defamation if we shared our experience which is pretty radical considering we have every right to inform others so that others aren't left in a similar situation. He was rude, condescending, and arrogant the entire time we spoke with him with NO regard for customer satisfaction. All he could do was claim he was a God fearing man and good person. Oscar, if you were a good person, you wouldn't need to tell us that. You would simply do the right thing and not screw people over.  At the end of that conversation, we were left with another promise to consider meeting in the middle for a resolution within a few days. Yes, all of this content IS on the recording. After waiting an additional 3 weeks without any word from Oscar, we decided to call again for the resolution we were promised. We were told that he was no longer willing to consider a resolution and that we made the decision we did and had to accept that.  We filed a claim with the Arizona Registrar of Contractors per our legal counsel. The case manager from AROC agreed with the sliminess of the situation and stated that this company most likely knew the hoops to jump through to avoid legal prosecution, but couldn't proceed unless we could show that the new AC unit wasn't up to par. Something he said would be best to explore during the summer months. He also let me know I could reopen the case anytime once that's done. This of course pertains to the current unit and not the manipulation leading up to the purchase.  Please heed my warning and don't get scammed! There are many companies (we later found out) who can offer a decent rebate through APS-up to $1200. There's a reason this company isn't partnered with APS to offer customers a large rebate-their ethics and morals aren't acceptable and up to code. I hope this review helps people make an informative decision about which company to work with. read more

Super responsive, professional, and customer focused beyond expectations. I have had an intermittent noise coming from my AC Compressor. Of course, every time the service tech comes, then the unit works normally. When trouble shooting, the tech called the owner while I was there and had me speak with him. Oscar (the owner) told me that no matter how many times he had to send someone to find my problem that he would do it. He immediately scheduled his top technician to essentially tear down my unit to uncover the noise. Again, the noise did not occur during his visit. However, I had a video on my phone which he listened to and acknowledged that there was an unusually loud noise. He literally waited for over an hour in the hot sun waiting for the noise to reoccur. It didn't and I insisted he leave until the noise came back. Lee (the senior specialist) told me to call anytime if the noise happens and he will come. Unbelievable thoughtfulness. This business is horrible. My downstairs ac unit has been struggling to keep up. It will not get below 80 during the day. I called my home warranty company and they dispatched these idiots. The tech didnt have a clue was he was doing. He had to make 4 phone calls to his "shop expert" to run the numbers by him. He said the freon level was good and there was nothing he could do after about 10 minutes of troubleshooting. I told him needed to look again because there was something wrong. After another phone a expert session and 10 more minutes of scratching his head he said they he thinks he found a problem. He said the compressor was drawing to many amps and that indicated a compressor defect but it was out of limits so they couldnt replace it yet. DO NOT USETHIS COMPANY! Update: I called american home shield and expressed my displeasure in this horrible comapany and they were disappointed in my service so they are attempting to make it right by assigning another company. We shall see how this plays out. Here's a piece of advice for you. If you have a homewarranty and they assign you this company to handle your ac issues you need to demand that they reassign you a different company cause efficient air is horrible. read more

The Service Technician changed a fuse and a capacitor on my Trane AC unit. The unit started up and the technician left without checking to see if it was cooling. It was not cooling and stopped working about 2 hours later. I called the office to have the technician returned and they refused to have him come without me paying another service call. The Owner made a series of excuses and complained that he would need to pay his technician overtime. Unwilling to finish the job and make it right. Not happy with their service and would not recommend. I am now calling another company to get the job done right. read more

We wanted our HVAC serviced prior to the hot summer months. We contacted our home warranty company for service. American Home Shield dispatched Efficient Air to service our HVAC units on 05/11/20. The technician took a reading on only one of two units, created a service request that he said he'd submit to AHS and he left. He marked the service as complete two days later. He NEVER submitted this work order to the home warranty company! He collected his service fee and left. Not only did Efficient Air not service both HVAC units, but I've now contacted AHS to send another company to do the job that Efficient Air was hired to do. read more

Our AC went out during some of the hottest days this summer & we were dreading the outcome of a service call. Luckily, Armando arrived right at the time when he was scheduled, worked quickly & efficiently. He found the problem & had it fixed in less than 20 minutes!! No one especially in Arizona wants to have issues with the AC. A recent transplant in July, I wanted to get ahead of our AC needs. Home depot was supposed to send someone to check on it but got the 'ol switch n bait' so I looked elsewhere. Spoke to several other companies with great disappointment. Efficient air was different right off the bat. Great CSR, and the tech Armando was such a blessing. A household of women & children it's scary to blindly trust an unknown company. Wow, what excellent service, response time and professionalism! I had many a company come work on my old dinosaur unit and it kept breaking down. Then Efficient air came out, figured out that it just wasn't salvageable and that I'd put as much into it, suffered through weeks of no a/c in 120 degree heat waves and now no heating in this winter. It's been a tough road, so the assisted me in getting a new Goodman unit. They handled everything smoothly and kept in touch as to what was happening. Have to say, great customer service from upper management to every level on down! They went above and Beyond in professionalism, courteousness and being quick. Worked on our a/c unit on 5/27/18. "Fixed the issue". Said it was low on Freon and had a slow leak. Fast forward to Friday night (last night!) and it sounded like my air conditioning unit was giving birth to rocks. A noise it was not making before! Called immediately like I was advised to do "should something go wrong anytime in the next 30 days" Left a voicemail. No return call. Called again, just now, still closed. Even though the Yelp page says open today. Who runs an air conditioning company in Arizona without an emergency number or at least one person checking the voicemail on a weekend??? I submitted a claim to my home warranty who is American Home shield on 6/1/2020 and I got assigned to this company and they gave me the time window from 12 PM to 4:00 PM. 5:00 and tech showed up to work on my unit he said it was the capacitor he changed the capacitor and said problem would be fixed assumes he replaces the part. I turned on my AC unit and I keep waiting for my AC to cool down the upstairs part of the house and unit did not cooled down the house issue was never fixed. Hours later I called a friend and recommenced me another company who's tech knew what he was doing. The other tech changed the motor for the unit and booom issue was fixed without me having to call again and wait days to get back at me. they changed the capacitor but did not fixed the problem the other competitor did. Now im down 340 for a brand new AC motor and my AC is back to normal cooling. read more

I have American HOME Shield they sent out Efficient AIR. The tech was Lee to check it out and the diagnosis he found a leak in the evaporator coil. He was great and did a great job. When the part came in Bobby and Dennis were sent out to install it again great service a/c and heat are great. The office staff I spoke with Andrew was friendly and answered all my questions and one of the ladies I spoke with was also very polite. I would highly recommend this company. read more

Worst company ever! Lying employees that don't do their job! Incompetence with Oscar the owner who wants to make excuses for the lying employee and blame the customer and say the customer isn't as honest as the employee who lied to customer. Not willing to go above and beyond to make things right! I had Efficient air sent to my home to do my AC tune up by my home warranty company. They checked all connections and informed that we were low on coolant probably related to a blockage. My tune up includes toping off the coolant if it's low. They could have done that but didn't. They related it to another issue in order to submit another work order and have the need to come back for another call. I called them and left a message, 3 days later no call back. I had to have another company come check my unit. My coolant in fact is not low and there is no blockage or issue with it either. I had a coworkers son (HVAC tech) come triple check to be sure this was right. Confirmed again no issue, no low coolant. Efficient air tried to indicate issues with my machine and immediately went to giving me pricing for a new unit, financed by them of course. I wouldn't trust them and definitely wouldn't recommend. read more
