The entire process was very straight forward no hidden surprises and were extremely efficient getting the job done once things got going. Even though I had done A LOT of research on both the technology and several companies they took time to thoroughly explain the whole process from installation to working with utilities company, which can be a real chore depending on who your power company is, they handled everything. We got a 6.4k system that has been putting out around 750 kw a month since installation in June, thanks to several cloudy days, but this is right on target for the production point I was looking for. A couple things to keep in mind is the North Carolina killed the state solar incentive so there is no longer a state tax credit for instalation costs, but the 30% federal tax credit is still there for a limited time, it helps take the bit out of the upfront cost and there are several options to help reduce the out of pocket costs. Also Cape fear solar offers several options for rebates, one of which is for providing testimonials on thier site, others include posting lawn signs and have a ribbon cutting ceremony. I have not done the testimonial on their site yet so as of writing this have not received any money for posting a review for them, but something to keep in mind when reading customer testimonials. As I mentioned in the beginning compared to other contractors that I have dealt with so far in the area Cape Fear Solar has been the best to deal with. If solar is something you are thinking about it is at least worth it to have a free on site evaluation done, they were very quick to point out ways to save money doing the install without making any shady cuts, just a few extra panels and batteries that for our situation didn't make sense in the long run. Do your own due diligence, but in the end if you are in the Carolinas definitely consider these guys, even though they are based in Wilmington gton their crews travel all over to handle a very large service area and they do it quickly and professionally.

I had a works solar system that consistently produced 6.3KW peak power, but needed to set up zero export to comply with my insurance. Cape fear sold me a dual battery (EnPhase 5p) with special EnPhase controllers over a year and a half ago and it still doesn't work. We get maybe 3 kw peak production and it's very uneven and unpredictable. One of the two batteries stopped working 6 weeks ago and nobody has even looked at it yet. The salesperson and install teams were very nice, but the support team has said the problem is with the manufacturer and has taken the '10 foot pole approach' they are going nothing to progress the resolution, things keep getting worse So buyer beware on all the talk about service and warranty, I'm not seeing it. My big mistake was paying (in good faith) before everything worked correctly

The uncertified installer was not going to take town permit and said will use 50A breaker compared to 60A tesla suggests to take full advantage of their chargers. So it was no brainer to go with Yes Solar. They are very professional and meticulous in their work. Firs they will come and inspect the location and gives an estimate. Once you approve it they will start with town permit and procuring the 60A breaker which was a special order and took some time to arrive due to supply constraints. The permit took more than a week, but it was worth the wait and gives me confidence that I followed the NEC code. I dont want to take chances with electrical work. On the installation day 2 installers came on time and did a wonderful job, everything according to the code. My car now charges at full 48A Tesla rated 80% of 60A breaker. Getting 43 miles per hour charge. Very happy with the work and suggest Yes Solar for anyone looking for quality Tesla Charger installation

Covenant overcharges and under delivers. A year ago, we signed with Covenant Solar based on their slick sales pitch. Just 3 months in, we were already not seeing the "savings" we expected. Convenant said that the ROI needed a good year to manifest based on seasonal production and usage fluctuations. This month we are now a year with their system, and we are paying $150 MORE PER MONTH in utility expenses than we were before solar! Every time I talk to Convenant (which is difficult now, sine they already have my money), they "confirm" that our system is producing as designed. That may be true, but the amount they charged for the system, we've since learned, is outrageous! I highly recommend that you stay FAR AWAY from Covenant Solar. I get it that this review could be written by a competitor, so don't take my word for it. Shop around. And choose any company OTHER than Covenant.

I really loved working with Micha, and his expertise was the reason I ended up picking Sun Dollar. The job took only a few days to complete installation. Everyone on the staff was very polite and respectful to our house. They even came back out to paint a conduit black to match my roof. I ended up getting a 9K system, and I'm already producing very close to that in the winter. We'll see how things go in the summer, but so far they've delivered on what they promised. Overall, I had a wonderful experience. I would highly suggest Sun Dollar Energy to anyone who wants quality work and outstanding customer service.
