Up until this morning, they would have gotten 4 stars. To start on a positive note, the crew did a beautiful job and most of the staff is extremely kind. That's where it ends. When the salesmen came out, I was very clear I wanted French doors. He advised me to get a sliding patio door and upgrade to French doors later which was just insane to me. He told me to consider it and wrote my estimate for sliding doors and said it would be another $1000 for French doors instead. When they came out to take measurements, I reinforced that I wanted French doors not sliding doors. Then when they were being ordered (5 months after I initially met with the salesman) I was told French doors were going to be a $2k+ upgrade and that they had no idea where the salesman got the $1k from. Paul was absolutely wonderful and worked really hard with me to reach a solution and have nothing but kind things to say about him. Now we're in January (this whole process started in June) and when I spoke to Brittany on the phone last week Tuesday to set up install date I asked her what my remaining balance was, she told me $4600 (rounded). But then this morning when I go to pay the remaining balance I'm told they forgot to add in an additional $1600. I've managed 2 offices in my career, a car lot and a flooring company. Never in my life would I ever tell someone one total and then send someone to collect payment and give them a higher total, extremely unethical. I have budgeted and saved and picked up overtime hours for the total I was given and now it's once again "I don't know where they got that number from." Whoever is running their office needs to be replaced. read more

We signed with Southern on September 14,2023. As of March 8th 2024 all we have to show for our screened in porch is a slab of concrete. Communication is non existent it was always us calling them. They use third party contractors. We were told that they it would be end of December then Jan now they haven't called us back yet again. read more

Only use if you don't care how long any of the process takes. Told and promised it would be done by Halloween, and it's not even started till December.. Having the back deck covered was not want we truly wanted but the prices SO high it's all we could afford and we didn't have the 'whole' thing covered. They made 'make shift ends for the frame they forgot the caps', we have a couple of broken shingles now from them shoving framing under them. read more

He came and did a great job and before he left he cleaned up and left the place looking neat. Also their customer service lady Tina is a real pleasure to deal with. 4 years ago we hired Southern Leisure Builders to put a new roof on and add a large (approx. 8 ft X 40 ft) covered, front porch to our home. We had issues during installation, but not bad enough to write a review. Fast forward 4 years, and our roof and porch are leaking! We paid for 'top of the line' shingles and materials, so we are left to assume the leak is due to poor craftsmanship. We spent a small fortune on the porch and roof, and it makes me sick to my stomach that we now have to pay to have it repaired just a few years later. My husband and I own several rental properties; and have dealt with our fair share of contractors. Don't get me wrong, there are definitely worse contractors out there, in Jacksonville, but so many more better ones. Never again! read more

Not only did they deliver an outstanding quality, but they also rushed it for us so that it would be ready for our daughters birthday party. This company went far above and beyond to deliver the most professional work and service possible. The day of installation they were clean, quick, and professional. The home of William and Bernice Purvis was devastated by Hurricane Florence in 2018. As you can imagine it was very hard to find an honest contractor/company to rebuild the home. I live in Northern Va and took on the role facilitating the rebuild of my parents' home remotely because they are both in their golden years. Southern Leisure Builders and more specifically employee, Paul Andryshak, were a true blessing. Paul Andryshak and his staff went out of their way to completely replace the patio covering on the home and they also went the extra step in referring us to a general contractor that could rebuild the parts of the home which were not in scope for what Southern Leisure Builders focused on. You truly have to respect a company that is going to give your 5-Star quality service and work while at the same time having the integrity to admit where they to do specialize and refer you out to another quality company. The patio on my parents' home is the area where the family gathers when we are all home for holiday occasions and we depend on it to provide comfort from the sun and shade. Based on all I had read, I thought they would be a excellent vendor to provide an enclosure solution for my patio. Although the "salesman" that visited us was a nice guy, I found his knowledge to be limited. My enclosure must of had requirement that was outside of there experience or capability. I ask that one of there installers or even management visit to look at the opportunity in order to see if a solution could be created. This is when the company showed their true character. They quickly blew me off and failed to return my phone calls. What a lack of professionalism. read more
