I recently brought my Jeep Grand Cherokee to EG I had a check engine light on an I was due for an inspection. They repaired my car with my permission after a diagnosis it needed 4 fuel sensors. I went to EG after going to 2 locations in 130 and a AAA location. All told me I needed a catalytic converter and the sensor and some said even more. So beware there are those that will try to take significant advantage of you. Peter was really excellent to deal with and has defiantly gained my trust in him and EG. read more

i would give this place 0 stars if i could for being scammers and unhelpful. my car broke down and i got it to this shop, they said they needed to get the job done by 5pm. they got parts in around 4:30 and then rushed through the entire job to finish at 5pm exactly. after telling me everything was good and the code cleared on my car they all left and i drove down the road about 15 mins before my car was in worse con than when i brought it in, completely died and left me stranded on the highway for 5 hours. do NOT let these people work on your car, they charged me 1,400$ for horrible mechanic work. save yourselves the hastle. on top of that they refuse to make it right in any way saying that i should have brought the car back.... it doesnt run! so im exepcted to get a tow to this place from an hour away without the guarentee itll even be covered on top of the 150$ tow they costed me lastnight. read more

Rudest people. Driving to Canada a tire blew out on my boat's trailer. They could get me the tire but refused to help me. They wouldn't let me use one of their tool because of liability. They even asked me to leave their parking lot to fix the tire, also because of liability. Avoid this place. read more

We were on vacation traveling on the NJ Turnpike when our car experienced transmission problems. We were traveling from VA to upstate NY and were in a real bind. We came across EG Auto while trying to find a Subaru dealership. Joe and Peter could not have been more helpful or understanding of our predicament. They kept the car safely in the shop overnight since we had kayaks up top and gear on a hitch carrier. We rented a car and ultimately had our car towed to VA. Joe and Peter went above and beyond the call of duty and treated us like we were their regular customers. We were unlucky with the transmission but very lucky to find EG Auto. I was in town and needed an oil change. I asked how long it would take and the rep said 45-hour. It took an hour. I can look past that. What i can't look past is that i brought my car here with all of my tires air pressure being 33 psi and higher. Why do they give me the car back with the tire light on? And one of the tires psi at 14 which is half of what it came in with. I call back to see if they were aware of this and the rep insist that the tire may have picked up a nail while in the shop. Unless you want your tires to grow hands and pick up nails and stab themselves do not go here. read more

Recently I had a flat on a BMW at 5:15 on a weeknight while on a business road trip, I stopped by here just taking a chance that to find out what was the problem and maybe get the tire fixed. Joe promptly had the car on the rack and diagnosed a cracked wheel. Trying getting a wheel for a BMW at 5:15 at night in Cranbury, NJ. With no way to fix it that night he came up with a great solution and was on the road in short order. Additionally he had the original wheel repaired and on my way home a few days later it was put back on the car. I cannot recommend these guys enough, the worked hard, found a solution and acted on it. Very professional and courteous. If I'm ever in the area again and have car problems I will only go to them. I've taken my car here for years, and the guys at EG never let me down, Repairs and routine maintenance are always done promptly and well. Unlike other car repair places, including the dealership where I bought my Mercedes, they never overcharge or make up fake things like replacing the transverse disinhibitor flanges that needs to be done RIGHT AWAY for the tune of several thousand dollars or else my car is liable to spontaneously combust. The EG guys are courteous and helpful. I don't mind forgoing the "free" croissants and espresso at the swanky dealership in order to have a cup of Keurig coffee in their little waiting area, since it means I won't be overcharged. I'm not sure if this is because of the ownership change, but it is a place of absolute rip off now!!!!. I went in for a basic tire patch, the guy tried to convince me the entire rear brakes had failed and it was absolutely unsafe to drive. The estimated price to fix was about $900. What a fast one that would have been. I quietly declined and took it to Toyota and it was nothing but a regular brake serivce which cost me less than $300. I have been to EG Tire and Auto Center three times and every time someone touches my car the average bill is $400 which I believe is pretty high. However, I am fine about it because unless I go for the same work some place I am not in a position judge whether price is high or not. I think the people are really nice and courteous, but I would not say the same thing for the service. One of the services that I opted for was tire rotation and next time when I went to a different place for tire rotation, I was informed that struts were not coming out because it was hard bolted or were not fixed properly. Now this could have led to a major accident but I was fortunate enough that nothing happened. I had to pay too high price this time for tire rotation service because struts were replaced. Also you get 10% off every time you go there which I find is not true because if you look at the details then you find that labor duration as 2.2 hours or 1.1 hours and then you get 10% off. So in way you he is not giving you any discount but you get the feeling which makes you go there again because you falsely believe that you are getting a discount and owner is really generous. Another thing that I find annoying is that every time I go there, I am being charged for something which is not necessary. Owner informs me about the parts before hand over the phone and if I try to resist I am being informed that I cannot drive my car without this, it could be brake related thing or battery related thing. A simple battery replacement job costed me $400. I have decided to go some place else now because I find this place is also like any other place where they are trying to sell me something which I do not need. read more
