Yummy! My favorite place in Wichita! Was located right across the street from our hotel. Small, cozy and cute. Just opened 3 years ago and business is great. I went twice during my 3 day stay. The first morning I ordered the eggs Benedict with a juice and Pepsi. My companion got the Belgian waffle with pecan butter. The waffle was light and fluffy and the pecan butter made it utterly unbelievable. He also had a coffee, juice and water for a grand total of $20. The next afternoon (after a very late wedding reception) I ordered the biscuits and gravy only to be informed that there were none left because they had thrown them away. (The rather rude waiter said that if I wanted biscuits I had to get up earlier and not wait so long to come in.) Instead I got the huevos rancheros which were eggcellent while my companion ordered the eggs Benedict and we shared a french toast (which also came with pecan butter.) The french toast wasn't as good as the waffle, but still tasty. We had the same waiter, Timothy, whom we weren't very happy with. He informed us that because we came in he couldn't leave and he was pretty pissed. Then when more customers arrived he proceeded to slam things around and huff and puff. However, both mornings we met a wonderful waitress named Marla who was so friendly and actually pulled up a chair and sat and talked with us. She was the epitome of good old mid-western hospitality. This place has a great atmosphere and reasonable prices. There are very few places where I always order the same thig as I love to try new foods. However, this is one of them. I always get the Salmon Eggs Benedict. It's ooey, gooey and mops up perfectly with an english muffin...just like it should be. read more

Farmer's omelet was great. House potatoes very tasty. The coffee was good and served in a MAN SIZED cup (Thank you! ) Staff was friendly and efficient. I do not know what has happened to one of my favorite breakfast spots this year?? My daughter and I used to love a lazy Sunday breakfast here, but ever since the summer when the air conditioning was out, and not repaired ALLL summer, it has been a disappointment.( I cannot imagine making employees suffer thru 100+ temps working in those conditions, let alone having customers so uncomfortable) Since the weather has turned cooler we decided to try again last weekend. We both ordered the Ham & Eggs...UGH...1/2 a slice of ham, 1 pc of toast and MAYBE 5-8 potatoes on our plate, eggs were over hard instead of medium :(, we asked for coffee refills TWICE....finally refills came as we were preparing to leave. I might ad we came in early before the "late risers" started to form a line so they were not crowded at all. Sadly I think daughter and I will be searching out a new spot for breakfast. read more

Service on my 1st visit was terrible but food was ok. I gave it a 2nd chance and that would be my last chance. Service was the worst and I noticed this with 2 other tables. I was praying that at least the food would be good, so disappointed. You would nt pay me enough to eat there again. I love to cook and eat alot of different places. To be fair, I only tried the American style breakfast. The cheese in my omelette wasn't melted - the inside was barely warm, like it had been sitting for a while. The coffee wasn't hot either. They did get my bacon crispy and my potatoes were tasty. The lunches sounded good, so maybe I'll give them another try, but not for breakfast. read more

This place is great! The food is delicious and the service was great. I ordered huevos rancheros but asked for no meat. Without hesitation she offered avocado as a substitute. And when they offer a side pancake (for a small upcharge) as an option instead of toast or whatever, say yes! Perfect pancakes, totally worth it! read more

Service was really bad. Three staff members ignored is for 5 min to seat us. We should have left. Then service was slow, only one of the three wait staff did any work. The two others were always MIA. While we were there only half the tables were full, but at least 10 groups walked out after not being seated. Three tables waited more than 10 minutes for water or for their order to be taken and just left. The staff didn't even notice. The food was ok, a pretty standard breakfast joint. read more

The place is growing on me. I've had three breakfast meals here now, since one can only eat at a hotel nearby so many times..... The Quiche Lorraine is not worth getting in my opinion. It had that "just microwaved" look and soggy feel, coupled with a bland flavor that makes it a great candidate for dropping from the menu or revising the ingredients and cooking plan. I have been coming to this restaurant with my boyfriend David for over 3 years. The food has always been very good and the service excellent. The omelettes are the best in town. Jessie the owner always would come over and visit with us because we were regulars. However, today was a different story. I am very disappointed. They mixed up my food order, waitress was incompetent, was at table 45 minutes and finished with meal before she even came over to refill my coffee. They charge extra any little thing that you request more of, like a little cup of salsa to finish out your meal. This has always been my favorite breakfast establishment but it will probably be a good long time before I come back. They opened up a new restaurant on 21st and Arkansas with a different name. When ask for more cream, she took off, we waited and she was on her phone. When she came back she had forgotten that we had asked for cream... Went here for breakfast around 7:30am on a Monday. It was FREEZING inside, waitress was bitchy, nobody else was there and she greeted us like we were inconveniencing her (were the ONLY ones in the place). Got an omelet, it was cold by the time I got it, piece of cheese was just placed onto of it & started looking rubbery bc they didn't let it melt before taking if off the flat top, not appetizing. Home fries tasted like they didn't cut the bad parts off they're potatoes bc i kept getting that nasty bad potato taste under the way too much seasoning they put on them (eww!). Ordered a tea, waitress didn't ask if I wanted milk or cream with it, waited 10 min for her to come back to order my milk & when I poured it in my tea it separated, so didn't even drink it... Waitress again, never asked how our food was & never came back so I could get a new tea.. If they had a pleasant waitress and my food wasn't freezing cold it probably would've been better & I would've been back (and she would've gotten more than $1 tip!), but I don't plan on going back.. It is clean and has a nice atmosphere. Props to having real estate in old town. Food came out luke warm. Poor quality ingredients made for low quality food. Biscuit was kinda chewy and hard to cut. The house potatoes were definitely the best part of the meal, however, it was an extremely small quantity of them. I got the eggs Benedict for my main meal. It was not too warm and by the time I was ready to eat the second one, it was cold. It was not very easy to cut through with a butter knife because the English muffin was not very crunchy. We only got one refill on our coffee. They cleaned all the tables off from 5 parties before bringing us the check. I had to ask for a box twice. One thing I will say is that we didn't realize it was a chain restaurant until we looked at the menu. Go somewhere else and support small business. Cute little homey brunch place in old town. Ordered the Denver omelet. Very tasty. Also tried the omelet with andouille sausage. Nice spice to the food. The quiche Lorraine was also delicious. Very eggy but yummy crust. It came with a waldorf salad which is yogurt with apples, walnuts, raisins, and grapes. It's a good mix of flavor with the savory and light. It was unfortunate that the two times I went there I got the same waitress. She's horrible! Completely ditzy and took forever with everything! She basically forgot she has a job. I went to Egg Cetera and was not impressed. I ordered the rueben and the waldorf salad. My daughter ordered Quiche and waldorf salad. My rueben was ok and my daughter's Quiche was ok but the waldorf salad was a poor excuse. The apples appeared to be granny smith and were too tart (sour) and the whole thing just was not that tasty. We went for lunch which was about 12:45 p.m. and when I walked in the door the first thing I noticed was the faint odor of rancid oil. I may try them again but it is doubtful. read more
