We eat at Jimmy's Egg about once a month. They are always busy, especially on Sundays and the after church groups. Warning, DO NOT TRY TO GET IN ON MOTHER'S DAY. The coffee is always very good and your cup stays full, some places give you a refill and you never see them again. Not that I sit and drink the pot, but I appreciate that they will come back around and top off my cup, and keep it warm. The Food is OK, will never win gourmet' awards, wouldn't even impress grandma, but it's passable as there aren't many ways you can screw up a breakfast. The Omelets for some reason are dry, It think it's because they cook everything all together instead of the more traditional rolled omelet where the filling is inside the egg lining. The hash browns are crispy and hot, eggs are served perfectly when ordered with a very good ham steak. Pancakes are a mix, but ok. Prices are about standard. and the staff is always, busy, but upbeat and happy. If you want a sit down breakfast that is good, and good coffee. They don't do anything wrong. They again what can you do with a couple eggs and some bacon. They are OK, and we keep going back. For some reason, though, about the time we start going to a location on a regular basis, they shut it down. Pawnee, East Douglas. Don't get that one. We went to the Webb and central location this morning for brunch. An hour after we gave our order the servers started complaining that tables were walking out. We asked our server if at least the 2 kids orders were almost done and were told she had been told not to submit orders. We were sitting at our table for an hour after our order went placed and it was not allowed to be placed to the kitchen. We ask to just pay for the drinks we had so we could take our kids somewhere we actually feed them. The manager came out and said they would put our order in now and it would take 10-15 minutes for the food to be done. 40 minutes later we still had not gotten our food. Manager fled the establishment. And since we were sitting in front of the kitchen we heard they were prioritizing online orders over those of patrons actually in the restaurant to eat. Once the food started coming out we had to ask multiple times for food that was missed to the point we took two full orders to go as we had been there for over 2 hours by the time the last of the food had been brought out. Instead of a manager coming and talking to us, apologizing or even acknowledging the very poor experience we were given a ticket at full cost of $112 and hustled out the door. Not sure what the issue was, but the failure was on the entire staff management, cooks, servers all failed miserably. My sister and I came in for a late breakfast on a Monday. We were expecting it to be fairly empty around 10:30, but they were probably 3/4 full. We were seated in a comfortable booth and the service was quick and friendly. We both ordered omelettes and crispy hash browns. It came out hot and fast and those hash browns were in fact crispy! When being seated. We asked the waitress, To wipe the table off because it was wet, Not just a little wet a lot wet. The menu was even dripping water.. She said the table has already been wiped. We ask her to dry the table. Again she said the table has already been wiped. She asked us as soon as we sat down. What do we want to drink twice. Because we didn't answer right away she says you don't want anything to drink. Grabbing thec coffee cups walks away very rudley not nice at all. And we asked her twice to wipe off the table to make it dry. All she could say was the table has been wiped off. If this is the kind of service you get at Jimmy's egg will never go back. We usually share Caritas skillet with berry pancakes as side for extra $2. Always good and plenty of food for 2! But lately tried NEW Farmer skillet and also Meat skillet. This place was very busy when we arrived and still busy when we left. Our waitress was friendly and efficient but, did not give us here name. I had the chocolate chip pancakes and side of bacon, she had the blt with sunny side eggs. Our son had the bisquits and gravy with eggs and grits. My first visit to Jimmy's Egg and I chose the veggie Eggs Benedict. It was delicious! Fresh spinach, caramelized sweet onion and an excellent hollandaise sauce with perfectly cooked medium poached eggs combined for a flavor burst in every bite. Fresh decaf with a smiling Holly Clare keeping my the coffee warmed up as I enjoyed my meal. There will be more visits as I looked over the fresh salad offerings. read more

I once liked Jimmy's Egg. At one point my husband and I made it our Sunday ritual, and when I worked thirds with my son, we came in quite often after work. I don't know what happened, but all the locations I have been to lately seem to be falling the same hole down. Conversation seems to be more critical then serving food. This time, my hash browns looked as if they had barely touched a flat top and there was so much cheese in my omelet I couldn't taste the egg. The gravy was barely room temperature, and my biscuits had been hanging out for awhile. I left the restaurant still hungry, and that is a sure sign I won't be back. read more

The booths are spacious and not designed for people with stick figure bodies. The coffee was okay but not up to Village Inn or Charlie's (in Newton, KS). Their coffee is mellower, this was a bit on the bitter side. Still, it was decent coffee. The wife had a Belgian waffle with strawberries. Big, fluffy, and delicious. It was so much, she didn't eat the fried egg she got with it. I ordered one of their "pick one from each column" breakfasts. Eggs, ham, sausage (two meats is the standard option), cottage cheese, and biscuits with sausage gravy. I thought I'd get one sausage patty and one biscuit. Nope, got two of each. The ham was smoked and not sugar cured (that's a plus for me). The sausage was tasty and not overcooked. The eggs weren't greasy. This is the only place we've eaten where that has been the case. The biscuits were a bit heavy, but soft and tasty. The gravy was pretty good. Overall, service and the price were good, too. We'll be going back. read more

I was really impressed by the variety, as well as options for specific dieting needs - gluten-free, dairy-free, low calorie, sugar free, etc. I tried the sweet potato pancakes with two turkey sausage patties and one scrambled egg. My egg was a little dry - but I honestly didn't care. I was too fixated on those sweet potato pancakes! They were so moist and tasty! The man ordered his sweet potato pancakes with blueberries and after I saw how quickly they were devoured, I wished I had also added blackberries to my stack! The turkey sausage was also very good. It's hard to find a breakfast place that offers anything beyond pork or chicken fried steak, so this was a nice, healthful option. The service was great and the food was prepared in 10-15 minutes. The food was so good and they have a lot of options for kiddos and adults with dietary restrictions! My youngest is special needs and she inhaled her food! She really loved her eggs and pancakes!
