She saw the look of disappointment in my face as I really love homemade corn, beef hash. For breakfast my husband had Timi Benedict, he thought the hollandaise sauce was a tad more lemony than he usually has but was very delicious that way with the bacon. Man, this was a quaint little cafe that we almost didn't go to but are glad we did. There was a bit of a wait for a table on a Saturday mid-morning (for 2) but in the end it was worth it. The wait staff was one of the most friendly in recent memory and they gave us free monkey bread to get us started (and that was a great start in my book). I got The Benny, corned beef hash and biscuits in gravy. I judge the place by their gravy. If the gravy is good, it's a legit place. The biscuits and gravy were to die for. Biscuit was unique, spongy and soaked up the gravy-. The corned beef hash was also very good. The Benny was solid but normally not my thing anyway. The banana bread French toast was sooo good. First off I apologize for no photos, I was halfway through lunch before I realized I didn't take them. The parking lot is small and the spaces are narrow, but we were able to find parking at the end of the lot our SUV could fit. Walking in we were greeted by the hostess and seated immediately. I noticed their sign in the front said the soup of the day was corn chowder and our waitress said it was really good, so I ordered that on the side of my open face Reuben sandwich. After we ordered, I was pleasantly surprised by the complimentary monkey bread they brought us. It was warm, gooey, and so good. The Reuben was tasty, although I do think it could have been a tad saucier. The corn chowder was amazing, though. It had really good flavor. It was smooth, with the exception of some corn and potatoes, and you could see and taste the bacon in it. I would have ordered a gallon to go if I thought I could. My husband and I just went here for the first time. We went because I read somewhere that if you're going to be in , Wichita Kansas, it's one of the restaurants you really need to go to. I got their biscuits with sausage gravy, Corned-beef hash, and Banana Nut French bread. My favorite hands-down was their sausage gravy with biscuits. My dad used to fix that when I was growing up and I am picky about it! I told my husband that it tasted like my dad's homemade sausage gravy and I loved it, I'd clearly give it a five 5! My next favorite was the Banana Nut French Bread, but I couldn't eat all that and brought half of it home. My least favorite was their corned beef hash, I just wasn't crazy about it! I'm not really a peppers person and so it really wasn't very delightful to me. But the whole experience as a whole was definitely a five 5 and our waiter was really good! He made us laugh, filled us in on a couple of menu favorites, and worked hard to keep my husband's coffee cup filled. He even gave him a to go cup without him asking.
