While rides were pleasant enough, there were two instances where drivers were exceptionally rude either to me, other passengers onboard or even people passing by. My first experience was taking the free Jitney from the AC train station. After letting some people off at Resorts, a passerby, possibly homeless started becoming aggressive towards the driver as he thought the Jitney was moving too closely to him as it backed up. The driver responded by driving quickly back towards this guy, like he was using the vehicle as a weapon. Then both the driver and the guy both exchanged several curse words, both yelling at the top of their lungs. What made matters worse is that the driver did not take me to my hotel, since it wasn't a casino. Instead, I had to walk with my luggage from near the Absecon Lighthouse to my hotel - the Wyndham Skyline Tower - a distance of almost a mile! My second experience was after The Who show at the Boardwalk Hall. After getting onboard, I tried to use the Jitney app and the extremely rude driver kept yelling at me to show me that I paid for the ride. I ended up paying for two rides as I was unfamiliar how to scan the ticket. While I would like to believe that most AC Jitney drivers are good workers, these two really were among the worst I've ever experienced. That's says something, since I use public transit alot and worked in the public transportation industry for nearly 25 years.

They don't allow people to stand so if the small bus is full you have to wait for the next bus. We saw a lot of different buses throughout our stay in Atlantic city. I thought it would be mostly tourists utilizing the buses but there were a lot of locals which is great for the community. The jitney was cheaper than uber and Lyft and we took advantage of this mode of transportation and would use it again when we're in the area.

They say 24hr advance notice for a shuttle, but then will say 48hr advance notice when you call. They are rude. Zero customer service. I called 48hrs in advance and the person told me to call the next day and talk to someone else about my reservation. Stay away from Tropiano.

And by file, I'm sure he meant a post-it. Their operation does not seem to be computerized, no email or text confirmations and receipts unlike legit car services. When I needed a receipt for a ride to submit for business travel the driver took a scrap of paper and scribbled one. Just look up the reviews for Tropiano in the Philly area - most are very bad. Also, look at the 'not currently recommended' reviews for Tropiano in Philly. Many stories of no-shows, general rudeness and broken down vehicles.

My Dad was scheduled for a pretty significant medical procedure and had no method of transportation to get him to and from the hospital. I live on the other side of the US, so I couldn't provide much help, other than to coordinate service. My Mom found SJL and, though we had no previous familiarity with them, decided to go with them for our needs. Ashley, who coordinated our SJL reservation was so helpful. She was easy to talk to, and was accommodating to our requests, which fluctuated because of the hospital's scheduling process. We initially coordinated a 9 am pickup and later - the night prior to the reservation - had to reschedule to a pickup around 4 am, and SJL had no problem adjusting. The entire service was perfect. Ashley took great notes of everything that I explained to her about our situation, and the notification emails provided by the service reflected all the details that I had shared with Ashley - confirming that communication was flowing from me to Ashley and, ultimately, to the driver. The SJL web portal worked well. The driver, John, was on time and my Dad appreciated John's friendliness and good company.
