Of course there's gas here too, plus electric charging stations. Inside the rest area, you'll find the bathrooms, plus a rack full of tourism brochures and the ATM. It has added so much depth and feeling to my life. One thing that it has not improved, however, is long car rides. I don't think I need to explain more, but children (and babies in particular) are logistical nightmares. Thank God for Smyrna rest stop. Conventiently close to the highway, it offers fairly clean bathrooms, gardens, trees and a full playground. The only thing it lacks is a decent lunch option. (I think this is a state issue, DE doesn't allow fast food at state rest areas) Realistically then, this may be the best legally, most legally compliant rest area in all of Delaware, and a welcome oasis for road weary parents and babies.

The rest area appears to have originally been built to serve US-13, before DE-1 was constructed. When traveling southbound on DE-1, finding the entrance can be a little confusing. Fortunately, there is a direct ramp from the parking area back onto southbound DE-1. The grounds include gardens, picnic areas, plenty of parking, and numerous other amenities. Depending on where you park, however, it can be a fairly long walk to the restrooms. Like the somewhat confusing access from DE-1, the walk is only a minor inconvenience at an otherwise outstanding public rest area.

This South-Central NJ rest stop, located on the Northbound side of the NJT, is well-equipped and…read morevery convenient. The ladies' restroom stood out to me--it has 24 stalls, which is far more than most other rest stops I've been to across the U.S. Definitely helpful when it's busy. (And yes, I said restroom--not bathroom. So many Americans say the word "bathroom" when there isn't a bathtub in sight!) Food choices are solid, with Burger King, Popeye's, Auntie Anne's, and Starbucks all on site. There's also an Applegreen convenience store that sells snacks, drinks, postcards, New Jersey T-shirts and sweatshirts, and a variety of souvenirs. The seating area has around 25 tables, so there's plenty of space to sit down and enjoy your food. Lastly, the Sunoco gas station makes it easy to fill up before getting back on the road, which adds to the convenience of stopping here.

I stopped there with my friends, coincidentally the same friends as last year and this year. Last year, we stopped for food for my friend. He went to Burger King. We were bored and wanted to hang out for a while there, and we found the wall about Celia Cruz's life very interesting. I loved reading about her early years and seeing her famous outfit, which they had on display. We played around with the screen that showed many of the famous people from NJ and pulled up their selfies. We took a picture with Danny DeVito, which was actually a real-life-sized selfie of him. The rest stop also has a row of massage chairs that you can pay for to use for a few minutes. We didn't use those, but that is a great idea to offer at a rest stop. We ended our time trying to win stuffed animals in the claw machine, and on my turn, the claw accidentally picked up three animals together. So we each took one and took a picture with it. This time, we found out that the Dunkin' Donuts stays open 24 hours, to my surprise, and I got a matcha latte. My friend got a meal from Burger King again, and to carry on the tradition, we took a picture with Danny DeVito again! The bathrooms were also very clean. This is a really nice rest stop, and to me it stands out from some of the others.

This round --- I only stayed for about 15-20 minutes, and decided to try the new "Applegreen Tap&Go" Coffee Stations. One is located at the very entrance of the building, and one towards the back (near the food court). I ordered an "Iced White Mocha", and was pleasantly surprised by the quality. It did what I want coffee to do, taste good and have caffeine! In any case, if you're in Delaware, make it a point to stop-by!

Everything is pretty modern in the rooms, downfall, you can hear all the noises from the other apartments. I was on a floor with kids above me and day and night could hear them running, playing and screaming like if they were in my room. The staff was just ok, didn't feel welcoming when checking in but glad that besides check in I didn't have to interact with them. Housekeeping staff are very personable and helpful. Centrally located with access to many things to do around. Will aim for a higher floor next time.

Only 15 minutes from AC, great location for doing activities in and outside of AC. As much as we enjoyed our stay, the villa had few issues. They are deteriorating, as doors in our rooms would open with a push, even though they are locked, so no privacy. Bathroom door at the entrance wouldn't even close. There were spider in the curtains and some doors with broken knobs. I hope the hotel manages to keep up the quality of these villas as the years pass by.
