We were on our way to the Aldi nearby and noticed the restaurant. So after shopping, we stopped by for some breakfast. We were quickly greeted and seated. I got the Farm Style Omelet with wheat toast. My friend got the Egg House Favorite with wheat toast. Both were really good. The only issue we had was that the toast was barely toast, so it was difficult to get jelly on the slices. Having let them go for another 30 seconds to a minute would have made perfect toast. The portions are generous and they do a really good job with hashbrowns. We both took half of our meals home to eat later. Service was ok, with a man taking over for whatever reason. We started out with the young lady working there. He refilled our coffee and brought out our food. He was friendly and quick. We do plan on returning again. Our visit was the Wednesday before Thanksgiving, so it could have factored into the place not being busy. read more

Hubby and I stopped here for breakfast during our "staycation." Charming Cafe with booths as well as counter seats. Our server was lovely. Hubby enjoyed his eggs, bacon and crispy (requested) hash Brown's. I enjoyed the Polish sausage scrambler. Sourdough toast was my choice, and they actually buttered each entire piece, not just half a dab on one section only that many restaurants do. Food was served hot - another plus. The food wasn't ready when I ordered it 15 minutes before I came and waited 15 more minutes for them to cook it. I ordered a seafood omelette made with imitation crab and eggs. I finally stopped into this little café in Crystal, and I'm glad that I did. My breakfast was delicious with generous portions, so I brought some of my pancakes home for the next day. I have tried a Egg House Cafe on three occasions over the past year, and sadly each visit disappointed. I desperately want a serviceable breakfast joint in the Robbinsdale/Crystal area and still miss the always packed Birdtown Cafe, but Egg House Cafe isn't it. Today's breakfast was a simple before school stop. My young son ordered a bagel wIth cream cheese and a glass of milk. He asked me to order the Eggs Benedict, a favorite of his. For his order not much could go wrong. The bagel seemed Costco quality vs fresh, but was passable and expected. His glass of milk though came in a oversized stemware glass that he couldn't navigate and had a few small chunks of milk in it. I tasted it and while not sour, the chunks weren't appreciated. My Eggs Benedict were largely inedible, mostly because of the separated and off tasting hollandaise sauce. Even the best of hollandaise sauces, once separated are awful and this one likely wouldn't have been very good even if that had not occurred. On the somewhat positive side, I asked for my eggs poached medium. Not sure the eggs were specifically poached (they seemed cooked in molds and didn't have the light poached texture), they were indeed cooked medium. So my son and I both scraped off the sauce and ate just the eggs leaving the ham, sauce and muffin. read more

AWFUL! Oh what a disappointment. It's such a CUTE café too! Unfortunately the only good thing about this place is the coffee... Which I was really impressed, when the waitress brought it out... She said they ground their coffee here at the restaurant. BUT what followed afterwards...was A BIG DISAPPOINTMENT. My mom got the pancakes...and it was rock hard! She let me take a bite.. and I couldn't believe it...it was inedible I got the Popcorn Chicken Salad...which appeared to be a bunch of lettuce...basically, rabbit food... with some bits of breaded chicken..also inedible. Then we got the bill which came to be $20.00....which came to $25.00 with a tip .. umm so if you don't want to throw your money away... don't come here. You've been warned! Listen friend, it's not my place to judge your life choices (you gotta do you boo boo) but you really are missing out. Great food and even better people. If you go on the weekend, bring your patience with you (it can get pretty busy). Weekdays is a great time to go for breakfast as it is slightly less busy. Recommend the French Toast or the Ehh House Favorite with Hollandaise. Now, stop reading reviews, go put some pants on and head over to the Egg House. read more

My wife brought us here for brunch after having an amazing lunch experience earlier in the week. It's an olde-timey mom 'n pop type of cafe nestled in a strip mall. It was pretty busy when we came in at 10:30 on a Sunday. The hostess/waitress greeted us with a warm hello, a big smile and seated us quickly in a booth near the back. The place is a little funky--but not filthy--so it adds to the charm instead of detracting. Menu is typical for what you'd expect with little in the way of unique signature dishes. The food came out quickly and the plates were hot. Serving sizes are pretty generous so don't worry about ordering extra hash browns or an English muffin with your plate. This is located where the old Eggie's Cafe use to be however the inside has been remodeled to offer a more open environment and more seating! This breakfast joint serves up classic breakfast options along side EHC specialties such as the Fajita Omelet. One of my favorite things is that they actually have a breakfast option that allows for me to get eggs, hashbrowns and pancakes with no meat. So many places around town do not allow you to substitute or do not offer a meatless breakfast combo that has french toast/pancakes included. A bonus star should be given for this :) Pros/Cons: the syrup is a little on the bland side and could be served a little warmer. Hubby and I went here for brunch on Sunday. All the tables were full except for 1 booth. I had the Monterey omlete with pancakes and Hubby got a cheese omlete. It's great that they had no problems with substitutions since neither of us rarely get exactly what's on a menu. I like that everything is made with real food and not thing like "cheese sauce" which you never really know what's in it. It looks they have recently remodeled. Everything looks neat and clean. They have a TV by the counter if you want to watch the news with your breakfast which is nice. But it didn't bother us at all in the booth. Even though the place was full while we were there, we were still able to hear each other. The service was great. We were greeted as soon as we walked in, and they took our order as soon as we were ready. It didn't take long to make our food either. We'll definetly be going back. read more

Hubby and I visited there on a Sat morning. We were looking forward to trying this place because it's SUPER close to our house. All but 1 table was full....SCORE. It's a little on the smallish side. They have a long counter, booths on the side and tables in the back. This is place has the perfect hangover food (which we both were)...slightly greasy but good old yummy breakfast chow. I had a delicious skillet with eggs and REAL ham chunks over American fries, all smothered in yummy cheddar and a dollap of sour cream...just what the doctor ordered! Coffee was delish, too. A real plus! The only bad thing seemed to be the link sausage. Hubs said it tasted funny, and I had to agree. Was a funny spice or something. Probably just a personal preference for us. My coworkers and I eat here so much we have a frequent diners card. Huge portions, fair prices, breakfast and lunch options have something for everyone. The service here is fantastic when you get the Rhonda. She takes care of our group everytime we dine and is so appreciative for our business. I come here on the weekends and its still great. I recommend the chocolate chip pancakes, onion rings, and burgers. No matter what you order, it all comes to the table at the perfect temperature. read more

I went for breakfast and to do a little studying for class. I had the Chuckwagon which was a ton of food. I got my eggs scrambled since this option comes with french toast, the eggs were put on top of my hash browns and i am not sure if the hash browns or the eggs or both were extra greasy but i felt that there was an excess of oily-ness in that area. With that said they were great, the hash browns super crisp and tasty and the eggs were done just right not over done and rubbery but not under cooked and snotty. I ordered hot tea and they gave me a whole thermos of hot water to refill my cup. I am rather sensitive to the taste of coffee and I worried that the thermos would taint the water to taste like coffee but it didn't, It was Amazing! I will be back to try more, I like the small cafe feel and no one pushing me out the door in a hurry to flip a table, they let me sit and refilled the thermos with water. Great place read more

Quiet Thursday morning to find anywhere to sit. Waitress was super nice and not too chatty; which I like. I can't stand a chatty waiter/waitress. She refilled our drinks as needed. I had the Perfect Team ($6.99) of hashbrowns (crispy throughout every bite -yum), eggs (scrambled as I requested), toast, and sausage. It was a big portion and I didn't finish them.
