I wanted to check out a breakfast joint I have never been before for Easter Sunday, and found out about Eggstatic in Ajax! This is a franchise that has definitely blown up recently for their amazing Middle Eastern influenced dishes so I really wanted to check it out. Considering it was Easter Sunday we did have to wait about 25 minutes to be seated, but they were taking reservations as well! The staff greeted us immediately and were very kind. This shop has the cutest decor and the vibe feels like you're in a house having brunch! Keep in mind the prices are quite expensive in comparison to other breakfast joints I have been to. The portion sizes are quite big which compensate for the pricing of the food. When it came to the food, we got quite a few dishes to try out! We ordered the Pulled Beef Benedict (9.5/10 was delicious), Canadian Breakfast (7/10 was alright not the greatest), Chicken & Waffles (6/10 waffles were quite stale and lacked flavour), Biscoff Pancakes (10/10 this was amazing and highly recommend), Mango Strawberry Lemonade (7/10 was alright quite sweet), Spiced Vanilla Latte (5/10 did not taste that great) and the Oreo Milkshake (6/10 was very watery)! Overall the food was alright, I would definitely come back for the Biscoff Pancakes and understand why it went viral online! Came here on a weekend and had to wait half hour for the table. The wait was worth it. I tried pulled beef and mushroom omelette, spicy Nashville Benedict, and pistachio pancakes! Everything was so delicious. My favorite was the pulled beef omelette. The service was a bit slow but it was likely because they were so busy. Would highly recommend it. read more

A modern breakfast spot serving classic middle-eastern dishes alongside some brunch staples. Good service, and solid food. Spicy Nashville Benedict: Egg was poached well. The chicken was juicy, although the fry was meh. Also the "cajun hollondaise" sauce was too much. The homestyle potatoes were disappointing. But overall a pretty good dish. Classic Middle Eastern Breakfast: While everything tasted fresh and clean, nothing stood out. The beef sausage was dry and had a grainy texture. The arugula salad wasn't my favorite, as the dressing was light, and the inclusion of raw onions made it quite harsh. The omelette was solid though. read more

is a fantastic spot for brunch, but it's usually packed--make sure to reserve a table a day or two in advance. We highly recommend their Cilbir & Spicy Potato, and the Biscoffee Frappuccino. Their pita is freshly baked so do give it a try. We also tried the Foul, but it was a bit too runny and bland for our taste. The mini falafels were nice but felt slightly dry without the tahini. On our next visit, we're planning to try their waffles--they looked tempting, and a lot of diners seemed to be enjoying them. Dropped by here for a late Lunch and throughly disappointed. From the person greetings us at the door ( who was at a table with his laptop open and his phone which was more important than greetings us). Told us to take a seat anywhere. Next our waitress took forever to show up and tapped her finger this QR code- that's the menu. She walked away without taking our drink order??? After 15 minutes she showed up...annoyed.. my husband ordered two omelette and I am allergic to red peppers requesting for the red peppers to be removed. Waitress came back and told me no but could do onions. Both plates were well portioned. But for a place called EGGSTATIC. Only ONE omelette on the menu and very limited egg items on the menu. Went in for a late lunch with a reservation on a saturday. Was ignored by multiple wait staff upon being seated. Tried to get out servers attention for over 30 min. No water no drink nothing. After 30 mins a waitress by the name of Chantel came iver to us to apologize and ask if we've been helped and took our orders. Food was cold and medicore, coffee was cold. The rest of the staff continued to be rude and walk into us as i got up to use the bathroom eithout an excuse me. Only pleasant part was Chantel who apologized for our experience. Eggstatic - I am not sure what this is suppose to be for... maybe the price you will pay for what you DON'T get. I feel this place should be called 'Flabbergasted'. Food - Ordered a pull beef omelette + coffee (guest 1) and egg sandwich + coffee (guest 2). Both food meals were tasty but not worth the price ($28 & $18 respectively). But we had to ask for several missing things for our meals (sugar for coffee, stirring spoons, salt/pepper from table, bread for my meal after I explicitly ordered it, butter for my bread (and when they remembered they brought a tin of liquid butter in a tin !??!). Also, for the price we paid, they brought the sandwich in a serving tray (like something you would put in your oven... why not serve it on a nice plate with salad... I am paying for this ain't I?? Ambiance - was clean but over decorated. This is such a small area and lack of strategic sound barriers, that the areas echo everyone's conversations and one party can be absolutely deafening (as we had a party of 6 behind us). They have a requirement to check in with a concierge (at the front when you entered), but this service is more for window dressing as he just directed us to seat anywhere when we didn't have a reservation. I can only assume this 'feature' is an added cost to your meal along with over hyped decor. They do, however, have Nice pictures on the wall. Service - Very slow yet they have nearly 10 people (probably students) working in this one small location. Hard to get anyones attention. Menu is scan by QRcode on the table only, so I am not sure if you did not have a phone, would they give you a hardcopy menu. Would be nice for someone to inform you of this as soon as you are seated so you don't spend 10-15 mins waiting for your server to come by and tell you that to then start looking thru the menu. I only imagine elderly people coming to a modern place like this and not given the proper directions to how to start their order. Terrible start to any restaurant experience. Order take/Bill delivery is all done in a kiosk machine, which we hoped would expedite the order of our food, but that didn't seem to happen. Cost - For the meal, service, and ambiance this place is definitely not worth the price. If the service was faster and price was 30% less I would consider this place a reasonable breakfast restaurant. One reason I feel they are charging so much is they are catering to a niche middle eastern/muslim population, as all the meat is halal and no pork is served. If this is your style and don't mind paying $25 for a regular egg breakfast that is available everywhere else then you might like this place. For us, we will not be going back as there are far better cheaper options. read more
