I've been coming down from Sacramento for shows here for a long time. I've seen some great…read moreshows.I've seen Marie Osmond, Johnny Mathis, Jay Leno, Bill Engvall, and others. I also saw the show "Jersey Boys" here. Every year they do a Broadway series of around five or six shows, and then they have other entertainers come in as well. It's definitely an asset to the community. It's a great venue. They have two theaters. The larger theater holds about 1200 people, all of the seats are good, they are comfortable, with a great sound system. I haven't been into the smaller theater, but that holds about 450 people. The theater is well kept, and all of the employees are friendly. Street parking is limited, but there is a big garage only about a block and a half away, and the best thing is, they only charge five bucks for parking. They don't check your tickets when you first walk into the building , because they have a ticket office and a will call desk in the lobby.. They check your tickets. Once you head into the theater. Prices are typical for what you would pay at other venues. Of course, it depends on how close you are sitting to the stage one thing. Be sure that you buy tickets from the official Gallo center webpage. Several ticket brokers. Make it look like they are the official page, but they are not, and you will pay a pretty penny more They have a decent concession area, with beer, wine, soft drinks, and snacks., the only thing is, if you want to take your drink into the theater, , and you don't have one, you have to buy one of their "souvenir cups" with a lid for an additional three bucks. Just keep it and you won't have to pay that again. The show I saw this time around, was "Mrs. Doubtfire, the musical." as strange as that sounds, it's a wonderful show. No, you are not getting Sally Field or Robin Williams, but the people who played the roles were absolutely fantastic. The kids were really cute too. I had seen the show on Broadway, and when I saw it was coming to Modesto, I just had to see it again. Just an overall great evening, well worth the drive down. Thank you

Besides the over-eager fan yelling at Keanu to talk to her for a good thirty minutes straight, the crowd was actually tame. We talked to the guy sitting alone after the yelling fan left. He said he didn't know her, and we all shared a laugh. After that, back to an unusually quiet crowd. The staff was very friendly and personable. Parking is close, and the location feels safe.

I asked if I could still get popcorn and they told me no they were closed and there was still popcorn in the machine which really didn't make sense since they just helped the people in front of me. Not once did anybody tell me hey I'm sorry ma'am, but we're closing and that the people in front of you were the last ones we were going to help, no communication , lack of communication and customer service. I spend a lot of money at this theater and that was the worst service I've had.

I had always wanted to stop in at the McHenry Museum, but I never took the opportunity to go, until…read morerecently. The museum hosted an event right before Graffiti Night to kind of kick it off. It was a free event to go inside the museum, and outside were lots of classic cars, trucks, and a few bicycles!! I included lots of photos inside and out!! Well, they had another event last Saturday night! "A night at the McHenry Museum!" What a cute and fun idea!! It was great for all ages. We received a night guard evidence log when we checked in at the front desk! Right before that, we were welcomed by a greeter who opened the door for us. They had nine exhibits with stamps from the people dressed in period or historical costumes. They each gave a little demo or speech about the exhibit they were in. They were all so friendly, and interactive. It really made the scenes come to life! One exhibit was trying to get gold out of the clay rocks, to turn into the cashier for play money, which in turn one could "buy" real candy. I had such a wonderful time. I hope they do this activity again, sometime soon. It would be fun to know about it way in advance, so I could dress up too. That would be really fun! I did not find out about it until a few days before. However, I am so glad I went!

This afternoon they had Mexican folkloric dancers and a lotería game through out the game. Nuts or whatever their new mane is lost against the ports but it was a competitive game and lots of fun. This is a family friendly, vibing spot, lots of people enjoying the variety of snacks and other items sold by local vendors. If all the games used to be like this then this was very cool so I am hoping they will find something else for this venue. The baseball was pretty good and like I said earlier quite competitive. Parking was congested but prices were cheap and I had a great time. Seats are a little close to each other but nice venue all around.
