My carpet never seamed well. This was not mentioned when I bought it. When installed I was told that's just how it is. After less than 3 years, the very visible seam started to fray to make it even worse so I assumed this could be a warranty issue. Mr Ehlen came out and was very nice. He said they won't sell this carpet to anyone who needs a seam and that my sales person was let go for reasons such as this. He said he would contact the manufacturer and at the very least they would stretch it better and trim the fraying. After 3 follow up calls to them and over a month later the receptionist said there is nothing they can do. It appears Mr Ehlen was all talk and no action. I will go elsewhere to replace this. I thought after admitting that this is a known issue they would do something but they did nothing. read more

We experienced a flood in our condo due to a toilet mishap and our carpet and padding was saturated. Ehlen was the original installer for our carpet and they did an excellent job! Since the padding had to be replaced they were able to do that on a one day notice and we were back to normal, able to leave Florida with no worries! I was insulted today with a salesperson actually saying "take your business somewhere else" and proceeded to hang up on me. I was calling to ask about tile I had picked out and "thought" was ordered. I was made to understand that Ehlen's doesn't want to order tile if they do not install it - that information would have been useful upon the first contact. Recently had they do tile work and carpet three rooms. The price was less then the two other quotes for the carpeting I received and the tile quote was almost half price from my other quote. The finished work looks great. So a great price with good quality and believe it or not they were the most friendly and professional of all the companies I spoke with. We have dealt with Ehlen Floor Coverings since 2003. We originally did a whole house remodel with Ehlen installing carpeting and tile throughout. Their work was excellent then and it is just as amazing today. Our tile installation was difficult but it was absolutely perfect. We had it set on the diagonal with 2 intersecting hallways. It just doesn't matter what angle you view it from...it is all perfect and balanced. Ed Ehlen also helped us pick carpeting for heavy traffic areas...it still looks good! Just recently we had a huge aquarium break soaking a wide swath of carpeting. We pulled it up to get it drying immediately. We just had Ehlen come out to re-install the pulled up carpet....it looks like a brand new installation! We had to cut the closet carpeting to lift it..the seam is imperceptible where they have repaired it today. We also had them patch a large square of carpet with original installation remnants...I literally cannot even see the seams of the replaced square! We truly cannot say enough good things about Ehlen. We recommend them wholeheartedly and without reservation. The staff is helpful, knowledgable. A number of staff have been there since we first met them in 2002...they absolutely know their products and make the whole process easy and successful. Debbie oversaw our repair with professionalism and worked with my schedules to get this done ASAP. By the way, their installers are amazing! My wife and I have used and recommended Ehlen for the many years we have lived on Marco Island. Our last experience with Ehlen, however, is less than complimentary. We totally renovated our condo at The Marbelle three years ago and used Ehlen for the entire flooring; tile and carpeting. First, after the contract was let, Ed Ehlen requested a meeting with us to inform us that he neglected to include part of our flooring requirement in his price. A $6,000.00 mistake. He asked for our help. As a business owner I responded by telling Ed that when our company makes this kind of error, we eat the loss. I however, agreed to split the loss and pay $3,000.00 of the difference. He agreed and thanked us. Now the rest of the story. After three years we started to notice several (8-10) tiles installed in our family room have become loose. Ed agreed to take care of the problem by replacing the loose tiles. After this repair and a few months later ,however, we have now found many more loose tiles in the same room. I don't know Elens position on this new problem, but my concern is the quality of the workmanship used to install our floor. Ehlen has always been considered the BEST in the area, but this problem has me wondering if this is true. If they come and fix the new loose tiles I am concerned about what will happen in future months or years. Not sure how to handle this issue. Anyone have a suggestion!! We came here to pick out tile for our bathrooms project assuming this was a showroom that you could buy tile from. They only allow you to choose tile from them if you are going to use their installers. We have a contractor already, which they asked about right up front, and were then informed rudely that we could not do business there. It was stunningly rude and extremely embarrassing since we had dragged my parents there to choose tile as well. Save yourself the time and go to Marco Island Floor Coverings, which has a much nicer showroom and great customer service. Have used Ehoen several times and have found their work to be excellent. Their pricing however is suspect and I would encourage you to get at least one other proposal. We were quoted a 40% increase in imported Italian tile from two years ago, while the dollar has gained in value over the Euro dramatically. read more

Ehlen is a big Rip Off....Dont waste your time shopping on Marco Island go directly to Naples or even better, go to Fort Myers. Their pricing is dependent, not on product and labor, but on what they think you can pay. They put the stone floor and carpet in my condo and at the same I put in the same size marble floor into our home in New York, with another flooring company. The cost of doing the same floor in New York was 20% of the cost of floor in Marco Island. Twenty Percent in New York..... In addition, the marble floor, which was supposed to be top quality, in Marco that was put in by Ehlen now looks like the Surface of the Moon. Stay Away!!! read more

Never contact this company. Debbie is rude and loud mouthed. We were referred to them by another company to replace twenty tiles. From the start, Debbie complained that we were wasting her time, asking too many questions, and were fussy. As any consumer, we asked legit questions like what color is tile, is it going to match, and what is grout color. They refused to pick up our tile sample, said that we asked annoying questions, and weren't making enough money from us to irritate her. We agreed for work to be done, asked for a simple photo to be sent do us the let us know they were done. We checked back a week later, and Debbie said she was done with us, was dumping us and we could go find another company because we were irritating and fussy. How do you want business if you speak to a legit consumer like this? We asked our building manager to help, and Debbie bad mouthed us and now the building manager says that no company will help us. This character Debbie is singlehandedly ruining her company with her attitude and rudeness. Never use this company. Incompetent, rude, disturbing. read more
