Dr. Eibschutz misdiagnosed Raynaud's sores on my fingers, and as a result, I had 3 fingers of my dominant hand partially amputated.

This is in response to Cynthia P. Dr. Eibschutz has so many patients because he cares! There are so many people in our county with auto immune diseases he tries to treat as many as possible. I don't think it has anything to do with money! My husband has gone to Dr. Eibschutz for years and he has been wonderful and so helpful. We are lucky to have him. We had to go to Stanford originally because Dr. Eibschutz wasn't taking new patients. My husband was misdiagnosed there so then we traveled to UCLA. Kendal is by far the rudest person I've spoken to in health care yet. She made me cry after I asked her ONE simple question. I don't care how busy you are, you treat people with respect. Her attitude is so very unprofessional. This office gave me the run around for four months after I was promised an appointment. I cannot walk on my bad days but that didn't seem to be enough to even talk to the doctor. Even if he doesn't see anything, HE needs to tell me that. They knew they didn't want to make an appointment with me and didn't tell me, completely wasting my time. How disrespectful. It's not hard to pick up the phone and update someone. Now I have to start the process over. Do better. 0/10 care. read more

If you have RA or autoimmune issues this is the man you want to see. He gives the best care and takes the time to hear and answer all your questions. The waiting area is always quiet and his staff has always been pleasant. I am very thankful to have him as my doctor. read more

The worst office. They told me the wrong appointment time. I was what I thought was 14 minutes early and the Dr refused to see me. His cut off time is 15 minutes late I was 16 minutes. I canceled work for nothing and the office had no compassion. The Dr could care less he would rather sit in his office doing nothing than see me since I was there. read more

I have to agree with the other reviewers. I never got in to see the doctor because I couldn't get past Zuul, the Gatekeeper of Gozer. It took weeks of repeatedly calling and leaving messages before that horrible woman finally got back to me. Then I was told I needed labs done before I could make an appt. This meant I had to go back to my PCP, which took weeks. After I got the referral I had to start over again w/ the weeks of not being able to even speak with Zuul. I'm serious. This woman is RUDE for no reason. After I finally reached her, I was told it would be months before my 1st visit. When the date finally arrived, I had trouble finding the office and parking, etc. So I called them and said, I'm here but it's probably going to be 5 minutes after my appt time before I get into the office. The front desk woman immediately said, "no, you'll need to reschedule. He doesn't see patients that are 5 minutes late." Click. I wasn't even technically late at that point I just predicted that I might be. Is she the AH? Or is she just doing what the AH doctor tells her to do? I suspect both. That really told me a lot about the deep disrespect this doctor has for his patients. So I went thru the nightmare of weeks of calls before hearing from Zuul, who then tells me that my next opportunity won't be for several more months. But as my appointment neared, my anxiety built because everything had been so hostile and confrontational thru every single communication and I ended up not showing up at all because I just didn't even want to meet these people. I've been going to Dr. Eibschultz since 2020. I had spasms in my back and my doctor said it was just my arthritis, which I knew it was not. The doctor looked at my bone density tests etc. and sent me for a new blood test CRP. Normal is 0.3 to 1.0 and mine was 2.5. This indicated inflammation in my body. So he started me on Taltz and within 2-3 weeks I was feeing like my old self. I have AS, Ankylosing Spondylitis and have found others who also have this. Plus the CRP number went to normal. His staff is friendly and Nikki his assistant is good but doesn't always get back to you when you leave a message. read more

Gave him numerous chances. Put up with rude office staff, long waits for appointments. Updating my review from three to one stars - AVOID this doctor if you can. He does not care, plain and simple. He'll do the basics and order tests but does absolutely nothing to help you explore or understand your pain, its causes, or related concerns. He will literally shrug, with that awful "What do you want me to do about it?" expression, each and every visit. Absolutely useless, and a waste of several years of my life. My new rheumatologist has done more for me in one appointment than Eibschutz did in half dozen. read more

I posted on Google, but wanted to post an expanded version of that review here as well: After we were referred to this office, my elderly mother was seen by Dr. Eibschutz immediately. He turned out to be kind, patient, and one of the nicest doctors I've encountered in a long time. My mother's case is quite severe, and she has other health conditions that made her wary of taking any medications. I'm impressed with how Dr. Eibschutz has been willing to work with her, address her concerns, and find the best course of treatment in her case. He even took the time to research the answer to one of my mother's questions, and printed off some pertinent journal articles and studies for us. I can't say enough good things about the staff, and their expertise in navigating Medicare. Everyone has been wonderful about answering my mother's endless questions! I'm so thankful we were referred to this office. read more

I have been fighting them for probably two months now and originally being told my appointment would be set four months out. The worst scheduler in the world, even my Dr. office called me and said they would no longer deal with her. I am wondering if all this is even worth it. Zero stars for new patients. My husband has been trying to get an appointment for about a week and a half. After the 3rd voicemail he finally got a call back. They wouldn't book him an appointment until after a referral and blood work were done. He was also told the next available appointment is in 4 months! Clearly they are understaffed (no call back for over a week) and unable to take the amount of referrals they are getting (next appt in 4 months). Dr. Eibschutz is pretty great. Never mind that he's one of only 2 rheumatologists in all of SLO. After months of being misdiagnosed elsewhere, I finally got a referral to see him. Unfortunately his biatch receptionist (there are several, only one is a major dog, the others are nice and helpful) scheduled me for nearly 3 months later, at a time when was condition wasn't afflicting me. He at least still took the time to hear about my medical history, but without seeing my disease in action is was a pretty wasted visit. Explaining to him that it was the receptionists fault, he bumped me up to his VIP list so that in the future I could be seen in shorter notice, when I actually needed to be. Upon returning while ailing, he was easily able to assess my condition and screen for other possible related problems. This wasn't very clearly communicated to me though as the doc has a large volume of patients and tries to get through them quickly. He is still caring and thorough though so I won't discredit him for that, but you need to be assertive in your care and ask questions and for clarification. I'm not sure the prednisone treatment option was the best, as it still didn't full reduce swelling (and of course did nothing for the pain). I also opted out of trying the potassium iodide drops as he once suggested after reading out their negative side effects. We tried adjusting some other things and I have now very happily been in remission 8 months. To Erythema Nodosum (and that one receptionist): you are a bitch. To Dr. Eibschutz: you rock! read more

My rating is very good for the doctor, but horrible for the support staff. After being given a diagnosis over the phone by a nurse (after blood work and visit), I was told I would be given a Rx. Also told that there would probablyl be negative side effects. After a few months of not feeling much better I called mulptiple times and left messages. No one responded. I was left wondering if I should keep taking the the meds and hope I feel better or what. I was also told by the pharmacy that my Rx was denied by the doctor -- what is going on? Eventually I got through and was told there was problems with messages because of turnover and sick staff. Then I was told thay my Rx was not refilled because the office was waiting for my bloodwork. What bloodwork? Never told about that -- no orders. read more

I enjoy seeing Dr. Eibschutz! He is such a sweet and attentive doctor. I am 33 and have suffered from an autoimmune disease for 3 years and have been seeing Dr. E since 2014. He does a THOROUGH exam during your first visit which I thought was excellent! He really cares about his patients and gets to know them personally and medically. He spends as much time with you as you need and doesn't rush or make you feel like you aren't important. I really appreciate how knowledgable he is and intelligent regarding various diseases, treatments, and medical procedures. I trust him and his medical advice and honestly wish all doctors were like him - he is excellent! read more

My doctor sent a referral to see Dr. Eibschutz. After 2 weeks of calling to try to make an appointment I was told that he could not help me.

I've been seeing this doctor for about a year. Great "bedside manner", genuinely cares about his patients. When I initially saw him at the CHC in SLO, he talked with me for the entire 45 minutes that was allotted, whereas many other doctors will "chew you up and spit you out" so as to move on to the next patient(s) quickly. His infusion nurses are friendly and accommodating. I don't get the negative reviews at all. read more

I like Dr Ebschutz but he doesn't know very much about anything that is not common. In other words, if you have RA or Lupus, then go to him. But if you have anything remotely rare, don't! The last time I saw him, he took notes for another patient and offered me know advice. He even asked me questions so that he could use that knowledge for another patient. Now, I like that he wants to learn more, but do research, talk to other doctors, go to training, etc. He does have a great bedside manner which I appreciate. But I just don't trust his knowledge. read more

I don't think I have ever been treated so professionally, so graciously, so respectfully - he was just wonderful and I am so appreciative of my time spent with him. I'm only giving a 4 and not a 5 because I had to wait for ever. But I am so glad I did. I kept being told it was Fibromyalgia or that it was in my head, but nope. Bechets disease! Super rare and not at all what I imagined. But he didn't send me away and tell me I was crazy like the last rhuematologist did. I'm very very very very thankful I waited to see him. read more

He is indeed hard to get an appointment with, but when you do, he is WORTH IT. Don't be even 10 minutes, as he is in HIGH demand. The best diagnostician in SLO. Unfortunately, his practice is limited to rheumatology. You'll need a referral from your primary care doctor so that Dr E can hit the ground running with the correct lab tests in hand at the first visit. He's teaching hospital sharp and thorough as Dan L says. Luckily he chooses to live in SLO. Downside, be prepared to wait 3 months for your first appointment. He's in a solo practice....only one guy - so don't expect miracles the day you call for your first appointment. read more

I am new to the area and finding a new physician can be a daunting task, especially to find one that I feel comfortable with and trust with my health. Then to find a specialist that I trust to prescribe drug therapy to make the difference in my quality of life... Dr Eibschutz is like a super hero to me. He and his wonderful office staff took the time and made the effort to get me assistance with the huge deductible I now have and stand up for me with the insurance company. Dr. Eibschutz is the best doctor in town perhaps the state. Not only does he care about his patients, his knowledge base is unprecedented. Dr. Eibschutz found the diagnosis that both my internist and UCLA medical center missed. He doesn't over prescribe medications and has the patients long term health care in mind. The only downside to Dr. Eibschutz is that he has TOO many patients that love him and it takes some patience to get in. read more
