My review is for 230 Fuller Ave apartments. If you can avoid living here, DO THAT!!! There very little positives that I have to say about this rental company and this building. Staff are nice but they take time to take action when requesting thing to be fix. The only action they will immediately take is to get you to sign a lease. I am glad to be gone. So here are my pros and cons. Pro: - Plenty of parking and street parking. - It will stay warm during the winter (but like 80's+ degree warm) - Shannon is nice and does her job well. - Yer was our new complex manager is responsive and nice. It would have been nice to get an email introduction or posting in the lobby about this change. - They plow most times when snow comes. - When there was a flood, they supplemented rent because we lost time while working from home and cleaning on their behalf. - There is ac unit in the apartment. Cons: - When me and partner moved in, there were a handful of repairs that needed to be done. The fridge was not cleaned properly. Floor was a tripping hazard (took like 3 months for someone to look at it). Bathroom floor was warp from water damage. Blinds were not replaced. Missing boards for the closet. Like half of it got address because we address these things and were persistent. - Partners with a scummy tow company. - Lease is confusing to the point legal was confuse when wanting to break the lease sooner. - If you want to break the lease they will make you pay up to two months of rent and won't support getting an individual sooner. - Maintenance is overworked, so some issues can take time to be fix. Additionally it may not be fixed the first time. - Urine/poop have been found in the stairwell at times. - Urine in the entryway often at times. - Piping is old and so there is potential for floods the future. My apartment got hit 3 times. :( - Neighbors have dogs even though it was a no dog apartment. - Stays piping hot and there is no control with the heat. read more

these apar are not even available. they advertise on every apartment search platform that theses units are available but they really just want the nonrefundable deposit money. they will take forever to process the application just to tell you in the end that u can't move in yet. they haven't even been cleaned these people are money hungry con artist . stay away. read more

If I could give a negative star I would first I set up an appointment @ 3:40 pm next day their automated services text my phone while at work 3 times back to back so I get there 1422 26th Ave N to find out the scheduled 3 or more other people so I walk up open door and first thug that hit you in the face is the smell than the hallway was full of trash ok at the same time no one is there to great you after the extensive texts so I walk in the Apartment and realize the smell was coming from there I walked in about 9 inches in the doorway and behold my eyes it's was a NOT ready for showing I'm going to leave it as that AND there were a group of people there guessing they lived there so i exited stage left don't let me forget that I was only in the apartment for less than 2.3 seconds Never would I rent from this company despite what the reviews on here state read more

DO NOT RENT FROM EIG! I waited until I received my PARTIAL deposit back from EIG to write a review. Where do I start? On move in day, the apartment was filthy, the refrigerator did not work, there were bee hives in each window (could not install window AC unit), and they would not release me from my lease agreement. The front door had a gap. As a single woman, I was obviously concerned. After multiple calls/emails to Vanessa/Alex/EIG, I gave up. I called the St. Paul city inspector and they found multiple violations. I don't have enough space on this review to continue. The rent is CHEAP for a reason. DO NOT rent from these lying people. If the only thing you care about is having cheap rent, then this is probably the company to go with. However, in my stay with EIG I had a cockraoch infestation that caused me to have to throw away all of my kitchen electronics as they would hide inside of the machines, a leaking washing machine flooded my room and caused so much water damage to my desk I had to throw that away too, and homeless people pooping/urinating on the door that lead into my apartment. Additionally, when I signed on I was told the tenants pay for the utilities so that laundry can be free - only to have them put in coin operated laundry near the end of my stay. Honestly, I was not really bothered by much of this because the management company were very polite and kind with all the goings on that occurred. Unil I moved out and was no longer living under them. I was explicitly told by a member of staff leaving my sofa would cost no more than $75 only to have $212 taken out of my deposit. After several emails from Bonnie that basically just said "I'll ask the owner later" - with later never happening - nothing was ever resolved. If I wasn't leaving the state I would have absolutely filed a claim with small claims court. If any other company were to charge people 3x what they tell them they'd be out of business immediately, and I can't give a good review to any company willing to deceive people to swindle their money. They also bribe people with the potential to win gift cards to leave good reviews. So keep that in mind when reading 5 star reviews. read more

Rarely do I bother to go on review sites like these to warn people, but I felt that people deserve to know what to expect from this company. They will completely ignore your issues, their online payment system is faulty and when your payment doesn't go through, they will charge you a $30 returned check fee and a late fee on your rent. When you ask for documentation, you'll get nothing. They take section 8, which I have nothing bad to say about, we all have hard times, the problem is that this company will treat you like you are on section 8,(even if you are not) as though you are nothing and like you don't matter, if you know what I mean. I'll say if you are a drug user, raging alcoholic, or a 19 year old that likes to throw wild parties, this might just be your kinda place. If you like to know that whatever you may do in your apartment, you couldn't possibly make it worse than it already is, EIG might be for you. This is I quote from an email I received from EIG after inquiring about one of their fees... "Tenant is claiming EIG/Buildium made a mistake & that is why his payment was reversed. This tenant is being a jerk & I'm hoping to show him something to shut him up. Thank you for all you do!" Choose a different company if you can. read more

Not only was the house beyond filthy but there is mold growing in the basement! I alerted them to pages of issues, nothing has been fixed except the locks. I still do not have hot water. EIG has managed my townhome in New Hope for 2 years. I've had two property managers and I've been happy with the service thus far. They have provided excellent guidance when handling the more thorny tenant issues. Were quick to get my property rented when my last tenant moved out. Have handled all repair issues on my behalf and have charged me a reasonable rate to do so. My goal has always been to forget I even own this townhome (I'm an accidental landlord) until tax time every year. EIG has been successful in helping me accomplish that. read more

I am disgusted at the customer service provided by the property managers. I don't get any call backs even though i leave messages. The only way to get them to return calls is to pose a new perspective tenant. If you go there in person your treated even more rudely. Maintenance is very slow in responding to work orders if they even respond. Work is half assed or incomplete. Horrendous company. I rented from them for a year, and put in multiple requests that were never filled. I was not told prior to renting that the thermostat was controlled by another apartment. They provided menial services including a trash filled basement and garage which were not cleaned. There were 2 washers and 3 dryers. I put in a request to have the stairwell cleaned multiple times, and this never occured. The windows were very old and multiple ones did not latch. They ignored my requests for these as well. The maintenance people would always complain to me about their pay and how they hated to work for the company as well. Mold was growing in the countertops, and this was never even addressed. read more

I was a first-time landlord and with my first tenants I experienced the worst that could happen; NON-Payment, and very disrespectful of my property including mulitple noise violations, I first turned to Renters Warehouse which I here advertisements most mornings on my drive to work, only to find that they don't take over previously existing tenants that they did not place. A good friend of mine referred me to EIG since he has had nothing but a positive experience with them. EIG took my case, AND my tenants to court and got them evicted. They have been absolutely polite and professional, and also very flexible with allowing me to hire people I know to do some extensive updates while they look at new tenants for me, even though they have a multitude of contracting resources they could hire. And no, they do not skim off of the top of what the contractor charges the landlord. I highly recommend this management group as it has been my experience that they want what is best for both the landlord, and the tenants, a very happy home. read more

This company just does NOT have their stuff together. They hire people overseas to answer their phones, and they almost never answer the phone. Their property manager Vanessa is in Thailand! She doesn't answer her phone either and takes days to call you back when you leave a voice mail message for her. The owner himself, Alex Eaton, doesn't return phone calls or emails. Everyone in my building says they have had the same experiences. I'm told nobody ever stays after their lease is up because they are so frustrated with the management. Unfortunately I have to give them at least one star to make a review, they don't even deserve that. this is by far, hands-down, the worst management company I have ever worked with. my experience with them was the worst experience that I myself or anybody I have talked to have ever heard of. I lived at a property managed by eig management for a year. when I first moved into this property it was mouse infested there was mounds of mouse poop within the ventilation system and when I requested to have it professionally cleaned because it conflicted with my asthma and my two children that also have asthma, they told me that I should get a shop vac and clean it myself. It was even a task to get the crew to set the house with traps for the mice. Shortly after moving in when all the snow started to melt, the cracks in the foundation of the basement leaked water all over my property and it became molded. when I asked them to fix the cracks they did one of the worst jobs I've seen, which by the way did not fix the problem that I had complained about. my house smelled like mold and mildew for months I had to repeatedly ask for the problem to be fixed or to have a dehumidifier installed to pull the moisture out of everything in the basement, never mind the fact that it ruined half of everything I owned it and was storing in the basement. My family was without adequate heat for two winters when I made complaints about the heat instead of coming to fix it they made me keep a temperature log! While it was negative temperatures outside my children and I had to stay in the house that was 50 degrees or colder through one of the worst winters we've had. the management company decided to terminate my lease because the property owners did not pay their property tax and the bank was re-claiming the house, instead of terminating my lease they decided To evict me as if it was my fault as if I did something wrong. When I found out through tenants union that they were lying I tried to negotiate the terms of ending my lease or get the contact information for the bank so I could continue living there which they refused to give me. they refused to negotiate any terms and have refused to return my damage deposit and now they are spreading ill information regarding myself to where I am an able to get into a new household so basically myself and my three children are homeless there are so many things wrong with this management company and I advise anybody to stay as far away from this company as possible. The managers and the maintenance crew are very complacent issues are not handled in a timely manner they do not communicate very well between clients management and property owners or even the management in clients themselves I wish that I had read the reviews a bit further before applying with this company if I had time I would stand in front and it protest to save other people the grief and despair I have gone through that I And stuff right now because of EIG property management and Bonnie B. read more

All I can tell you is RUN, RUN, RUN. Rented from these folks about a year ago and had a hellish 3 months before we were allowed out of our lease. I'm writing this now because I see the same property is up for rent and I only hope I can save someone else the pain, time, and strife caused by this business. Why you ask? Aside from mold in the basement, water pouring out of light fixtures due to an overflowing toilet, a basement that floods, and a laundry list of repairs that were lacking attention- the manage is absolutely horrendous. A maintenance guy that swears at you because you flushed a toilet and need assistance because water is pouring out of your kitchen ceiling and light fixture??. INSANE. How bad was it renting from these guys? So bad we had to call the City of Minneapolis Housing Inspection Services. When they finally heard from us and the City of Minneapolis they only action they took was to allow us out of our lease. Maybe they've addressed the repair issues since then, but I doubt much about the lack of integrity of this business has changed. Do not rent from this company unless you want a headache. They are very unprofessional, they do not return calls, they do not care about the tenant, and they are extremely money hungry and will charge you $250 for blinds. They took over my lease towards the end of it with no 30 day notification and no human contact for the first month. It was a very confusing process switching from a landlord to this terrible company. I never felt like they were there for me, they barely return phone calls, they never did a walk through of the apartment but charged us an excessive amount of money when we moved out. Our kitchen sink broke, we called in to have it fixed, the guy called one time and never returned my phone call to come and fix the sink. We were charged for that as well. We were charged late fees when our rent was already in escrow due to a terrible landlord. This has been the worst rental experience of my life. If you can avoid this company please do so.
