Second, with regard to my personal safety, they loaned me a walker for stability over my cane. I was walked to my car by the doctor assisting me. He showed me a quick maneuver to move easily into the car. Then reminding me to purchase a walker, he kindly closed my door and took the walker back into the building. In between arriving and leaving, I felt respected for what I was able to do and not frowned on for what I could not do. Last, and certainly to be recognized, in one month I have seen and felt improvement and progress. The pain is down from eight to two. I pray you don't need physical therapy, but if you do, go in with confidence!

He tailors exercises to meet my goals and is incredibly encouraging (today, when he saw me struggling with an exercise, he yelled from across the room: "Great job, Will. Triceps are looking awesome)!" It sounds silly, but these little things add up and honestly help me stay motivated. I was referred to him by my pain management physician who had personally worked with him after she broke her arm mountain biking. Honest to God, she told me she has changed how she practices medicine because of him. Instead of reaching first for medications/procedures, she now recommends high quality physical therapy. All in all, I ended up with close to 20 sessions by the time I was done, over a period of 4 months or so, with a break in between. The first session was about measuring range of motion and identifying weak spots and areas that needed improvement and more flexibility Mike was able to quickly diagnose and identify the best course of treatment. He also spent a lot time working on the mobility of my back and lower body, being very methodical about it and drawing from his vast experience and training to customize it appropriately. Here I should add he does not hesitate to encourage you to push yourself further to the limits of what is possible, while at the same time being very mindful of any associated pain and fine tunes and adjusts accordingly. I was also given a printout as a home exercise menu for me to practice in my free time. My pain that was close to 8/9 on a scale of 1 - 10, had improved to between 0 and 1 by the time I was close to finishing my program here Scheduling is very easy with Tommy at the reception and they deal with your insurance, making the whole process very convenient and seamless. As before, I highly recommend giving them a call if you ever need physical therapy.

I'm so glad I found a Doctor of Physical Therapy who's exceptionally skilled at customizing treatment for daily discomfort and unresolved postpartum pain. I came to Joey about a year after having my first baby, when I realized my pelvic girdle and symphysis pain weren't going away on their own. We developed a plan to strengthen my back and core, and once the pain subsided, I felt stress-free and light -- I hadn't realized how much discomfort I was actually living with every day until then. I also can't believe I had waited so long to do something about it! They confirmed that they did. Everything was hunky dory in the end of December 2024 because I had already reached my maximum out of pocket. Now in January 2025, on the 16th, they are pressing me and brought in who I think is the Office Manager to confront me when I came out of the bathroom to pay my bill before I receive my Statement from the VA. My insurance is old style true insurance where I pay a percentage after other VA codes are confirmed. It's not a Co-Pay which is due at the time of service. For instance, often the amount is adjusted based on the contract with the VA. I sometimes need to phone the VA to get the final adjusted amount. I have not yet received a statement from the VA since this is from 13 days ago. I canceled all my remaining appointments. Obviously, once I receive my statement from the VA confirming my final amount, I'll pay it. NOTE: Unlike other medical offices, they charge 3% to pay with a card. While the PT has helped, I could buy a Massage Gun for less than I'll be paying here and have done what is helpful myself at home. Save your money and buy a good Massage Gun at Amazon. If I'd known how I would be treated and their accepting my insurance so misrepresented, 1. I would have known, and 2.
