The doctor I was seeing for sciatica and scoliosis recommended this business. I have tried other PT offices and this is the winner. First, they are punctual. Second, with regard to my personal safety, they loaned me a walker for stability over my cane. I was walked to my car by the doctor assisting me. He showed me a quick maneuver to move easily into the car. Then reminding me to purchase a walker, he kindly closed my door and took the walker back into the building. In between arriving and leaving, I felt respected for what I was able to do and not frowned on for what I could not do. Last, and certainly to be recognized, in one month I have seen and felt improvement and progress. The pain is down from eight to two. I pray you don't need physical therapy, but if you do, go in with confidence! read more

Ive been coming here for the past 6 months and all the therapists here are good and some are beyond wonderful. Even the office staff are so knowledgeable and professional. Thank you, Southland Physical Therapy, for once again helping me recover from my injuries. Second strike at getting injured, and when my primary care told me I needed physical therapy, I knew where to turn to. Dr. Myers helped me to overcome my knee and ankle injuries from taking one too many bad falls during a running race. He incorporated massages, stretch techniques, and strengthening exercises to help me recover. I love their new app, where we can do exercises at home and make appointments easily. This time around, I learned how important balance, coordination, and diet are if you want to train hard for running. I am grateful to the entire staff for always being so helpful and positive. Dr. Jonathon Myers is by far the best physical therapist I have ever had the pleasure to work with! I had given up on my low back pain that had progressed to bilateral sciatica, but Dr. Jon turned things around for me. He tailors exercises to meet my goals and is incredibly encouraging (today, when he saw me struggling with an exercise, he yelled from across the room: "Great job, Will. Triceps are looking awesome)!" It sounds silly, but these little things add up and honestly help me stay motivated. I was referred to him by my pain management physician who had personally worked with him after she broke her arm mountain biking. Honest to God, she told me she has changed how she practices medicine because of him. Instead of reaching first for medications/procedures, she now recommends high quality physical therapy. Very disappointing experience. I arrived for my appointment and was told to reschedule without any mention of a fee, yet I was later charged $40. Also, the person supervising the exercises was not the doctor listed on my file, but trainees who did not seem fully qualified. I did not experience any improvement in my back pain I never saw the doctor listed on my file J.C.at any point during my visits. Instead, my sessions were handled by trainees who have not completed their physical therapy training. read more

I'm very happy to have found Southland Physical Therapy. Unlike some PT practices, Southland treats you like a person, not just another case file. The entire staff is friendly, professional, and enthusiastic. They encourage me to do what I can and never make me feel ashamed if I can't push through the pain. I truly feel a sense of team spirit when I'm there, as if everyone is rooting for my success, which really lifts my spirits. The waiting area is a bit small and can fill up quickly, but the wait time is generally very short. The open gym can get congested when it's busy, but the assistants are attentive and ensure that everyone exercises properly and safely. The building is conveniently located, and there is plenty of free parking available. I'm currently a patient due to a recent elbow issue, but I look forward to returning to address my chronic back problem. read more

The people there helping you with your Physical Therapy were cool. It's the office staff. I called to cancel the appointment and the next day. I have them calling me saying I owe them $40 and I told them I called to cancel. I'm not paying $40 for a missed appointment when I called and the way they checked that box for you saying you agreed to Pay for any missed appointments holding the iPad 3 feet back as they check the box's for you on the from you and then have you sign at the bottom just seems really overpriced and a sneaky practice. Other than that the quality of care was good not fair to the rest of the staff. read more

I wanted to reach out regarding my recent physical therapy evaluation and session. During my visit, I clearly disclosed my chronic medical condition, ongoing daily pain, and history of fainting with physical exertion or lifting. Despite this, I was given high-resistance exercises that were not appropriate for my condition. During the session, I experienced chest pain and nearly passed out twice. Since that day, I have been in significant pain and experiencing a flare-up that has not improved. This has made it even more difficult for me to manage daily activities. My referral was specifically for low-impact physical therapy to accommodate my condition, and I'm concerned that my limitations were not adequately considered during the evaluation and exercise plan. I would strongly suggest that future treatment plans take patients' medical disclosures and limitations more carefully into account. Listening to patients and tailoring therapy accordingly is essential to ensuring both safety and effective care. Thank you for your attention to this matter. Hands down the best Physical Therapy place I've ever been to. Dr. John Myers is awesome, extremely knowlegable and helpful. I came in to be treated for Gluteal Tendinitis with a partial tear, that kept me from engaging in any sports or activities. Dr. John got me up and playing pickleball and hiking in no time at all. He also healed my groin pain I had in the other leg, that I had suffered painfully with for 2 yrs. Neither my Ortho or Pain Specialist had ever been able to help me with it. I'm finally pain free in that area after all these years, thanks to Dr. John. Highly recommend the Santa Ana office. All of the staff there are helpful and welcoming. After 6 weeks of PT for my hip they seemed to get bored. You see the physical therapist for the first 15 minutes of your appointmen, mainly to manipulate that area that hurts. After the 15 minutes are up your turned over to a student or aid. You do your exercises in an open gym, basically on your own since the aid or student has 2-4 other patients they are overseeing. Don't waste your time or money on this place. read more

I had previously broken my leg and I was experiencing pain so I went to Southland Physical Therapy. While John was messaging my leg, he was screaming across the room to other Therapists talking about movies and comparing notes on which ones they liked. He was very unprofessional. He asked me if I had ever used the leg compressor and I said no. I thought it would be beneficial so I decided to try it. They wrapped it around both legs and started the machine and walked away. I finally was able to flag someone down. They never should have used this machine on anyone my size which is extremely small in statue and especially unsupervised. I wound up with nerve damage in both feet. I was unable to do any of my normal activities for two months. It was a struggle to walk and because of the damaged to my nerves I kept falling. I came out of there a cripple. I went to a nerve specialist and numerous doctors. Fortunately, my doctors assured me that nerves will repair them selves and I am back to my normal activities. To add insult to injury, they charged me a $40 cancellation fee because I cancelled the next appointment that I had already made in advance. I cancelled within the 48 hour time frame that they require so they charged me. I told the receptionist what happened and I had an excellent reason to cancel but they demanded I pay and I did. I did not want them to ruin my credit. I have been to other Physical Therapy places and they were excellent but my insurance doesn't contract with them anymore. However, I have decided to pay out of pocket for the one I was going to C & B. Southland is horrible read more

My recent experience with Southland PT (Santa Ana/Tustin) for both of my hands has been nothing short of exceptional. From the moment I walked in and met Dr. Jon, Dr. Katie and the entire staff, I knew I was in good hands ;) The therapy is individualized and tailored to your specific needs. The positive energy and camaraderie in the clinic was infectious. You can tell they love what they do and the patients are making progress and enjoying themselves. I do have to say it's nothing like Disneyland. The 1 star is for me having to fight tooth and nail for a very simple medical note that I still haven't received. I'm pretty frustrated because the Dr. keeps saying she will provide it to me, but then never does. Mind you, I've been waiting patiently since last week giving them plenty of time. Even worst, she sends me my whole entire PT medical report instead, which is so unnecessary and goes against my privacy under HIPAA. At this point, I'm not sure why I keep being misled and am conflicted whether they genuinely care about their patients. Just be mindful, that if you're not in there solely for a session, for them to take even a min out of their day to help you is too much of a burden. read more

I came to this location for the first time for an injured ankle. In the beginning everyone was SO nice and friendly and I LOVED going, until one appointment. There was ONE appointment I totally forgot, so the receptionist called and asked where I was. I apologized and explained I forgot, and I felt SO bad because that's not something I do. Well, they charged me $40 for missing the appointment, so I paid the $40 over the phone and all was good. I didn't go back in for an appointment for about 3-4 weeks due to traveling for work. The next time I went in, they treated me like they didn't even know me, and as if they were mad at me. Jon was the one who was TOTALLY different. He was rude, and answered only one question I asked, and was snippy when answered and kept walking. He also gave me this look like, "why are you here?" The receptionists and other PT's and aides weren't as friendly and talkative as usual either. All because of what? So being treated like that, I stopped going. Just be aware, don't accidentally miss an appointment or go too long without making an appointment, you'll get treated like I did. read more

I tore my right shoulder in three places and needed rotator cuff surgery. As a softball player that throws right handed I was devastated and nervous I wouldn't be able to throw again like I did. I sought out a Physical Therapist that was an expert in throwing athletes and came across Dr. Jonathan Meyers. I had my surgery in early December 2021 and had my first session 4 weeks later. I loved that Dr. Jon got me in as soon as possible and started working on my shoulder to get me back playing again. Dr. Jon listened to what my goal was and told me how we were going to get there. He is hands down the best Physical Therapist that I have ever been to. He cares so much about his patients and pushes you to get to your goal. By July 2022, I was playing softball again (throwing and hitting) and even got All Tournament Team. I would not be where I am today without these people helping me get there.
