Updating this review as I had the opportunity again to spend a few months here recently in rehabilitating my lower back pain - the experience with my therapist, Mike, was truly exceptional. All in all, I ended up with close to 20 sessions by the time I was done, over a period of 4 months or so, with a break in between. The first session was about measuring range of motion and identifying weak spots and areas that needed improvement and more flexibility Mike was able to quickly diagnose and identify the best course of treatment. He also spent a lot time working on the mobility of my back and lower body, being very methodical about it and drawing from his vast experience and training to customize it appropriately. Here I should add he does not hesitate to encourage you to push yourself further to the limits of what is possible, while at the same time being very mindful of any associated pain and fine tunes and adjusts accordingly. I was also given a printout as a home exercise menu for me to practice in my free time. My pain that was close to 8/9 on a scale of 1 - 10, had improved to between 0 and 1 by the time I was close to finishing my program here Scheduling is very easy with Tommy at the reception and they deal with your insurance, making the whole process very convenient and seamless. As before, I highly recommend giving them a call if you ever need physical therapy. read more

I've been going here for occupational therapy. This place has the most caring people. I have a few challenges which makes it a little difficult for the OT. What a great place. Nice facility. Tommy is do efficient in setting up the billing with insurance . Dr. Christ was the therapist I met today. I'm going there for lung issues and no other place I called offered any airway clearance techniques or ANY type of techniques to help with my condition. Dr. Christ assessed my condition and taught me breathing and huffing exercises, postural drainage techniques. I am confident I will improve with his expertise and knowledge. Best PT I've ever gone to & I've gone too ALOT. My mom post stroke works w/Michael on the HAL & everyone who works here always go above & beyond. Tommy at front desk is super helpful w/scheduling & anything you need. You always have at the minimum 1 physical therapist working with you at a time. Sometimes more as they have students helping too. Only improvement I would suggest is maybe a monitor for patients to look at when on the HAL machine & treadmill vs looking at a blank wall. We have worked with Mariah for two babies with torticollis now! She was fantastic the first time with our now healthy, happy, active two year old - always letting "baby be the boss" but pushing just enough to get results. When our second baby was showing signs of torticollis early on, I reached out to Mariah again. We started PT at 2 months and have graduated to less frequent check ins! She also helped us through a lip & tongue tie revision with this baby. Mariah is so warm & caring with the babies and so easy to talk to through the appointment! She is great at giving feedback and stretches to do at home as well, and is always very responsive on emails between sessions. We have now been to three SCE locations across the years and love them all! All of the staff we have interacted with or even just said hello to have been friendly and professional. Can't say enough really great things about this clinic and Johnny Nguyen DPT. I've seen him three different times, one for my elbow, once for a back issue, and once for a knee issue. Notable he's been able to treat each area without missing a beat. For reference I'm a weekend warrior triathlete/runner and I'm pushing 40. Sometimes your body just hurts and he can help you get it back in order for the long haul. Each time I've seen him he's been knowledgeable, kind, and compassionate. And that would be enough, those are the big three right? But he also does an exemplary job of explaining why he's prescribing the movements and exercises. And he is just generally a nice guy! I have found that my times being treated by him feel very low stress even when you don't feel your best. He listens. Always checks in. I've been doing OT with SoCal Elite in Tustin with Kenzie and it has been a wonderful experience! After fracturing my wrist I was worried that I was not able to get my full range of motion back, but now I am able to do pretty much all activities that I did before my injury and continue to get stronger thanks to Kenzie and the team at SoCal elite. Kenzie is a very knowledgeable therapist and knew when to push me and when to take it easy. She guided me through many exercises that helped my recovery tremendously. TLDR: Amazing center, saves lives! I'm writing this review to express my heartfelt gratitude to SoCal Elite Physical Therapy for saving me from surgery. My neck and arm were tingling painfully and also became partially immobile. I had findings that led me to an orthopedic surgeon. I was considering surgery, but I was hesitant because of the risks and so he recommended this center. I decided to give SoCal Elite Physical Therapy a try. I was immediately impressed with the staff. They were all so friendly and knowledgeable. My lead physical therapist, Leo, was amazing. He took the time to understand my pain and create a personalized treatment plan. He was also very patient, encouraging and detail oriented. He knows how to progress in the right direction at the perfect pace for healing. I worked with Leo and two interns, Jake and Hend. Jake and Hend were specialized in cupping and isolating muscles. They were both very skilled and gentle. They helped me to relieve my pain and improve my range of motion. They also provided excellent feedback throughout my treatment. After 7 weeks of treatment, I am almost fully healed and back to my old self. I don't doubt I will make a full recovery soon! I had a very positive experience here. Ilene was my therapist who was very comprehensive in assessing my care and crafting a perfect splint for my mallet finger. She is methodical, patient and thoughtful in her approach. She took her time to not only explain how to wear the splint, but also taught me methods to protect my finger during this critical time of repair. I will say this - NOT all custom splints are the same. The one I had made for me before I came to SoCal elite was an absolute joke, and my finger would not have healed properly. I called SoCal Elite Physical Therapy because I had right shoulder and right hip pain. I do a lot of hot yoga and I'm very active but I couldn't figure out how to make the pain better. I've been struggling with this pain for two years and I've been to one other physical therapist but I didn't get the help I needed. I had a consultation with Leo in May of 2024 and he gave me some great direction in our consultation. Then, I had a one hour session with him the following week and he gave me exercises to add to my routine. I began to do the exercises regularly and the pain in my right shoulder and hip has decreased immensely. I'm able to practice yoga without pain (some days, no pain at all!). I had my second session today and have new exercises to add to continue to strengthen some of the muscles that need strengthening to keep my body balanced. I am so happy I found them. I came to Socal Elite for multiple injuries related to an active lifestyle and a strenuous work load. I have had the fortune of working with Johnny for PT and Dawn for OT (Irvine campus). First off, the staff at SoCal are all very welcoming, friendly, and professional. The state-of-the-art facility is very clean and possesses all the newest rehab equipment that would make professional sports teams blush. I will preface this with the fact, I am also a rehab professional and knowledgeable of the therapy world. Some outpatient clinics, patients will only get to work with their PT or OT for 15 minutes at a time and be passed on to a rehab aide for the remainder of a visit. This place is truly patient centered, where you get to spend the whole treatment session with your therapist. We've been coming to the Tustin facility for several months. We are so happy to have found SoCal Elite for our physical therapy. Using the HAL device (we call the Robot !) has been amazing and fun. Progress has been apparent almost from the beginning of our time here. The improvement in balance and getting back to walking is very apparent, with improvements almost every visit. We were referred by a former patient and contacted Mariah who set up our first visit and worked with us to set a schedule and helped us coordinate with our other therapy to get the maximum benefit from our efforts. Michelle and Ivan have continued to work with us. The sessions are challenging but they are so positive and encouraging that the time goes by quickly. I met Johnny at my shop and he had mentioned he was a PT while we were chatting. I told him I had this pain in my shoulder for whatever reason and hadn't gone away for a couple months. He invited me in for a consultation and within minutes he was able to tell me what was causing some of the pain I was experiencing! The way I was working at my shop was causing a lot of the discomfort in shoulder so we worked on different techniques and ways to reduce a lot of the stress I was putting on it.
