I had a very disappointing and upsetting experience with Dr. Sheidaei. During a very difficult time, when my father had just been discharged from the hospital in poor condition and I did not yet have a family doctor, I was referred to Dr. Sheidaei's office and was given an appointment. While on the way, I called to inform them I would be about 5 minutes late, but I was told I had no appointment and that the doctor was not accepting new patients, despite the fact that I had already been scheduled and selected under my insurance. I want to mention that the office itself was clean, quiet, and well organized. There were two receptionists present, and both of them were respectful, kind, and did their best to assist us professionally. After insisting, I was told to come in. My father was in a wheelchair, weak and confused, and needed care. Unfortunately, Dr. Sheidaei's behavior was very unprofessional. He appeared impatient, dismissive, and spoke to us in a disrespectful manner. He also stated that he does not accept Medi-Cal patients, which was confusing given the prior confirmation. What was most upsetting was the tone and attitude we received during such a vulnerable moment. Instead of compassion, we felt judged and unwelcome. When I asked if he could also see my mother in the future, he responded in a very inappropriate and humiliating way, saying in a threatening tone that I should "not push things" or he might refuse to see my father as well. This was extremely distressing and unacceptable, especially given my father's condition. I understand that medical offices are busy, but basic respect and professionalism should always be present, especially when dealing with patients in critical conditions. I am sharing this so others are aware of my experience and he could have treated this situation more professional instead of taking advantage of me being alone and weak read more

I love my general practitioner,Dr. Perry Sheidayi, DO in Irvine, CA , 949-650-5771. He's been taking really GREAT CARE of my overall care for a few years now since 2021, better than any other doctor has done for me over the past 45 years. My care is very complicated and constantly changing, but he manages to look out for my overall well-being no matter what that new challenge is. PLEASE NOTE: 1. I was diabetic for many years before meeting Dr. Perry Sheidayi, but my prior doctor had never diagnosed me for it properly. The labs were showing the numbers for years, and I was having lots of symptoms. Even a terrible sore/infection on my ankle. Dr. Sheidayi took the time and went over years of my labs from prior. I was diagnosed and put on treatment and adequate self testing, and He also provided me with the right diet support. My diabetes is now under control. 2. I've had high blood pressure for so many years also. Right away the doctor reviewed all the meds I was taking for years that were still not working well, he changed up my meds and discussed diet and exercise changes needed and my blood pressure went from as high as 210/110 in the past to my visit today was 148/78 and at times even as low as 120/75. There is much improvement again. 3. I have Lupus, Sjögren's syndrome, and Rheumatoid Arthristst. I've had a rheumatologist of more than 45 years but was still not managing my inflammatory and autoimmune diseases well. Dr. Sheidayi started in 2021, running labs on me to check the imflamation levels and checking my kidney and liver frequently. He also referred me to a NEW Rhematologist, and he communicates his concerns with my Rheumatologist as he sees them on my labs immediately. 4. In May of 2021, I was diagnosed with breast cancer and had to have a double mastectomy. This was shortly after I had started seeing Dr. Sheidayi. My kidney and level levels were not good to undergo surgery, so he started working in getting my numbers down, and within a month, I was able to have my surgery on June 24th, 2021. I had chemo and herceptin treatment for over a year, and Dr. Sheidayi made me feel like he cared about me the entire time. ANOTHER GREAT SUCESS WITH HIS SUPPORT. 5. Just last week, November 7th, he received back some blood work that indicated that I was losing blood in my stool and that my inflamation numbers for RA and Lupus were extremely high. I was in another lupus flairup. He called me immediately to advise me to get to the ER. I went in, and yes, I had a couple lesions and polyps in my intestine that were bleeding and causing my stool to be blood. My blood count was all so low and very anemic. I was close to needing transfusion, but once again, he was totally engaged, caring, and proactive about my care and well-being 6. While I was in the hospital for 5 days, Dr. Sheidayi called my son to check up on me. He called me to see how I was doing. He also interacted with all the specialists while I was in the hospital. This is the only doctor of all the specialists who actually take the time to call me as soon as he receives and of my results from and labs or test. All my other doctors DO NOT CALL. They wait until I have another scheduled apt, and they may or may not go over the reports at that time still. Thanks, Dr. Perry Sheidayi for being my champion for my care and wellbeing. You do make me and all 4 of my adult kids feel confident in my OVERALL CARE you provide me. This office was unreasonably difficult to get an appointment with. An appointment was scheduled a week in advance with them but then their desk staff canceled the appointment without notifying me because they claimed my insurance did not have them listed as the primary care physician. however when I reviewed my insurance information online immediately after speaking with them it did, so I called back but they claimed it was now too late to honor the appointment. Fast forward now to a week later, we got another appointment and again the staff here was unsure of whether or not we were covered even though I showed them that they were the listed PCP on my insurance website. Dr. Sheidayi was rude to not only us but also his staff, which after reading reviews online seems to be a common thing for him. He made my girlfriend feel very uncomfortable in the examination room and then spoke down to her because she didn't speak English well. Rather than offering medical facts when my girlfriend consulted with him about a private medical concern he addressed his personal dismay with her proposed solution and then continued to try and scare her by stating information that was later found to be completely false. My girlfriend was already unsure of whether she wanted to see a doctor about her concern because she felt uncomfortable talking about it and Dr. Sheidayi you did not help that at all. She now feels more uncomfortable speaking with medical professionals as a result of your low quality care. His arrogance will likely result in him posting a combative response but on the off chance that you read this with an ounce of regard for bettering your quality of care I would suggest that next time a patient comes to you with a personal concern you don't offer your opinion and instead stick to the medical facts and information being requested. Needless to say we will be switching Primary Care Physician and in the event that somebody in the future should be considering this place for care just be aware of the experience we had. read more

I have been going to Dr. Sheidayi for over 3 yrs.. I am very impressed with his care and his wisdom. He has great bedside manner, most of all. he truly gives a shit about you. I am a Vietnam, camp. Vet, senior over 67, I am physically, and mentally,challenged. I take 10 meds a day. With his guidance, I am finding other alternatives for treatment for my Prostrate Cancer. It's been a challenge finding a good doctor who truly listens, shows compassion and concern, and follows up. Dr. Sheidayi does that and a lot more. His staff is absolutely wonderful too. I was stunned when he called the day following my appointment to personally make sure everything was okay. I don't recall another doctor ever doing that. This is not a doctor's office. This is a circus. First of all, I had my blood pressure taken 3 times by the 'assistant under training' because she used the automatic machine to take my blood pressure, but the machine is saying that I had low pressure and she did it twice to confirm my 'low blood pressure'...not only was the machine incorrect, she did not roll up my sleeves and took my blood pressure with contact to clothing and not skin. So finally, I got my blood pressure taken by the doctor and he had to go to the manual pump to do my blood pressure and it was finally correct, with my sleeves rolled up. The doctor is an absurd conversationalist where he said he used to do IT to pay for college at $50 an hour but instead went to medical school...like, if you are trying to relive your glory days of college saying that you could have been in tech instead of medical, I really don't want to hear that, because it gives me second thoughts whether or not the doctor the doctor really likes what he does for a living. I told the doctor that I had a flight coming up and that my current symptoms are sore throat and coughing. I wanted to get better before my flight and I was trying to have him prescribe some medication, in addition to my Dayquil and Nyquil that I was currently taking, for my throat and chest congestion to go away so that I would be healthy enough for my trip. Unfortunately, the doctor said that the symptoms were not sever enough for further medication and he suggested that I do a follow up visit if my symptoms were worse. So, I had a follow up visit that only took 5 minutes and he prescribed me antibiotics that I would not have gotten over the counter and only then did I realized what I had was a bacteria because I would have had to cancel my trip had it been a harder hitting virus. When I made my second appointment, the person who received my call and the both the front office workers at Dr. Sheidayi's office told me that there was not going to be a copay if the doctor agreed that it was a follow up visitation - I made sure everybody at the office as well as the doctor that day knew that I was doing a follow up just to get a prescription that I would not have gotten otherwise. But then, the office a week later kept on calling me that I had to pay another $40 copay in addition to the $40 copay that I paid for during my first visitation at the office. He verbally told me to come for a follow up if things get worse and I made the due diligence with him and the front office that I was coming for a follow up, which they agreed not to charge me for a 5-minute visitation for me to get a prescription. However, the office reneged and are now looking for that second $40 copay. This is absurdity given that he filled out a form and charged UHC $80 for a 5 minute visit and I have to pay for half of that just because the doctor would not prescribe me medication for my first visit and then told me to come for a follow up, in which I had to pay another copay. This is a mix of conservative thoughts not being able to prescribe me medication my first visit, deception telling me to come back for a follow up, and then greed, where he filled out the UHC form in a way where I was unsuccessful at disputing that I should not be charged for a follow up visitation. This 'doctor' needs to stop thinking about money in his conversations because all he did was hire mediocre assistants who cannot even take a simple blood pressure without messing up twice, talking about his heyday at college making $50 an hour doing IT, and then aggressively charging me for my copay twice (and having his office assistants call me every single day that I was out of town for my flight with office and private numbers) for an completely unnecessary follow-up visitation simply because he failed to prescribe me medication for my first visit. Pure chaotic circus -- you will waste a bunch of time and energy disputing copays and claims, conversing about money nonsense, getting calls in the middle of the day, every single day, about your copay, and he gets off scotch free, because the UHC system can be manipulated where your copay disputes do not fall within the definition of being a 'followup' where the fee is waived. Rule of thumb: If you see a medical office assistant with tattoos that is not hidden by clothing, I would cancel the appointment and get another doctor -- it would save you so much time, energy, and money because she was approved by the doctor to work there, and that is a direct reflection of the doctor's lack of standards, both him and the facility. read more

Folks, you need to read this as it may happen to you sooner or later! Through a friend of mine I was encouraged to schedule a visit with Dr. Perry B. Sheidayi. Upon my arrival on my first office visit, extremely polite, friendly and confident staff providing their services with professionalism and care in a very calm and organized environment welcomed me. However, it was easy to see why Dr. Sheidayi's office representatives were so terrific - they most probably feed on the positiveness, which leads them. It was indeed a pleasure having a visit with Dr. Perry B. Sheidayi that day for a first time. I have enjoyed very much our introductory conversation, which was cordial and informative. It's always inspiring and stimulating to converse with a highly skilled and motivated professional. However, I must add that I not only benefited from Dr. Sheidayi's immense medical knowledge and experience but also greatly surprised by his kind personality and more importantly his genuine care. Few days ago I had a disturbing phone call alert from Dr. Sheidayi informing me about a major blood disorder segment with possible cancer outcome that showed on my resend blood test - I am sure you would appreciate how devastated and chocked I was. With his calm and friendly voice he assured me that, he will contact and follow-up with my appropriate specialist and update me soonest possible. I was so overwhelmed with the news that I couldn't do anything except waiting for his phone call. You know very well how busy medical offices and doctors are - I am sure you have experienced it many times! But to my surprise in less than ten minutes I have received a phone call from Dr. Sheidayi informing me about his findings; After his multiple phone calls and follow-ups with different medical interties he found out that it was a computer glitch on the blood test company which resulted in an incorrect readout - Calmly he said to me "Don't worry all is good". In my humble opinion, Dr. Sheidayi represents Hoag Medical Group and the Executive Management team as the best Ambassador that any medical establishment wishes to have. I have shared my experience with Dr. Sheidayi and his office representatives with many of my family members, friends and business colleagues. Finally, I would like to extend my sincere thanks and appreciation to Dr. Sheidayi and his wonderful "A Team"for providing such great and valuable medical services to our neighborhood and also to Hoag Medical Group President for selecting medical professionals so wisely. I picked this doctor due to fine reviews and the fact he accepted our insurance HMO. Yes he takes his time to go over your medical history, but he does not add anything to your knowledge! If you are looking for a doctor who thinks outside the box to help your situation. He is ultra careful to write a simple medication, such as Nystatin,Antifungal. He insist you see a specialist. He is more of the aspirin and pepto doctor. Yes, he will show you his family pictures and make you feel welcome, but I need a doctor who does not send me to 3 other doctors because he cant do simple prescription. It took 3 days for me to ba able to make an appointment, they dontpick up phones and you ned to leave messages. When their office call, you feel like you are talking to a high school, insecure kid who is supposedly manages the office..... What took the cake and the reason for this review and obviously dropping this doctor and primary is, I had an appointment today, left work and went to the office, as usual, no greetings from the front ladies. I realized I didnt have my wallet with me because I changed bags! I informed the receptionist and told her and asked if she could send me a bill or I will call he with my credit card, I jokingly offered my wedding ring until I get the $30 copay for her. She needed to get the doctor authorization, she came back and said, can someone call your credit card in to the office before the doctor see you? I got up and left and will never go back. I find it extremely unprofessional when your doctor (through insurance) is treating a patient in this manner. If I was a cash patient I could have justified it..... I have been a patient of Dr. Sheidayi for a year now & he never ceases to amaze me. He goes out of his way to coordinate my care with the endocrinologist & lung specialist. He goes to bat for you with the insurance company-he fights the denials for medications or referrals. He has called back personally to check on you. I have also worked in the medical field & I am amazed-no ego-very friendly & informative. His staff-Jennifer & Cynthia are also awesome-nice & professional. Unorganized, unsanitary, he was rude to his staff members in front of me. It was the most uncomfortable doctors visit I've ever had, I ended up leaving before my exam. He came off as very scatter brained, the type of doctor that doesn't listen to his client and will just do the minimum to get you out the door-also talked to me in such a way that was belittling as if I am ignorant and couldn't possibly know anything as he was the one with the degree. Reluctantly, he refunded me for the visit when I told him I preferred to not go through with the exam as I was uncomfortable. I also called my insurance to inquire why I was charged by him in the first place and they were as stumped as I was. I have NEVER had to pay any copays, not a single penny, for anything and I told his office this when I arrived and they asked for the payment. I've since found an amazing functional doctor that takes the time to listen to me, goes through your entire life medical history, and is open to gladly bouncing ideas of one another no problem. Dr Sheidayi is an Angel sent from Heavens. With one photograph sent to him, he was able to call all the symptoms. Ordered blood work at 4, completed lab work by 4:30; he called me at 11pm! had me call 911 to assist my mom to hospital for complete flushing of her blood system with high levels of potassium and magnesium which are usual with people in dialysis!!!! He administered all possible exams to realize: infections, liquid around heart and internal bleeding! I just cannot thank him enough. If it wasn't for him, I would have lost my mom. I am so impressed with his level of care. He truly loves his profession and it shows. I am lucky to have him as my mother's doctor. He's responsive. He's personable.
