Representation of level of service and kindness received at this establishment.

Yesterday 5/28/2022 my Wife brought my youngest child in from the art festival to grab a bagel. It was my daughters birthday. She is 12 years old. My wife had one of our dogs with her, but wanted to escort our child in to make sure she was good to order, etc and to get a cup of water. We believe it was the manager who immediately got nasty and told my wife she can't have a dog in there and she needed to leave immediately, which my Wife did, as it was not her intention to vacillate in the establishment w the dog for obvious reasons. After my Wife left, my 12 year old was still inside the establishment when said manager (?) began sh!t talking my Wife loudly... loud enough that anyone (including my kid) could hear her. So just wanted to share the story and let the owner of this establishment know we won't ever patronize Einstein's in Barrington again (yes, we live in town). Great job! Keep up the excellent public relations! . Photo represents level of service delivered.

Bagles too thick and not soft. We paid for double bacon on three sandwiches and we were ripped off. Hardly a single portion. Interior is nasty looking.

An everything bagel, toasted w/butter. The star of the show: The hash brown side. Delicious!

I just stopped in here for a quick bite for breakfast. The everything bagel I ordered was just ok, but that hash brown side, OMG, is top three for sure in hash browns in Chicago. That little thing makes me wanna... "Shout" (recorded by The Isley Brothers)

Even though it's a chain, somehow it has a nice neighborhood or small town feel to it. The bagels are fresh and delicious here. Recommended by a friend, I tried the potato bagel. Seemed so sinful... two carbs packed into one yummy creation! And yes... it was so good oh my. Try it, close your eyes, and enjoy!

Second time at this location. The first time I ordered a bacon egg and cheese on an Asiago bagel and had another order for a sausage egg and cheese on a plain bagel. The did not execute the orders correctly. The wrong bagels were used on both sandwiches. Beyond that, the taste was okay. Typical breakfast sandwich. My second visit went way better. The accurately executed my order. I got a bacon egg and cheese on a spinach florentine bagel. It was delicious!

Rip off price on monday half off day.

Been in barrington 22 years. Every Single time we visit this location they are out of bagels. Only one or two of a few kinds on shelf the rest are empty. This day should be full. Then stipulations on half price day. Avoid this location like the plague.

Just the general manager taking expired spinach out of the trash.

Kari's Rating 9.9/10…read more TLDR: -Seriously my favorite bakery ever and I'm a bakery connoisseur -The flakiest most delicious pastries -Handcrafted sweets and made to order cakes This is my absolute favorite bakery to go to when I am home in Barrington. I've been coming to ambrosia for at least 20 years since my childhood, and this bakery never disappoints. The only reason it didn't get a 10 out of 10 was because sometimes they're closed on days when I need them open, and I find myself to be extremely disappointed I forgot to read the website! Of course error on my side! I remember coming here before I was tall enough to peep over the pastry case, and I've always been so fascinated by the little show window where they have cake decorating or someone demonstrating how to roll pastries-what an art! My number one pastry that I come here for is the ham and cheese croissant. Ambrosia's ham and cheese croissant is the flakiest most savory ham and cheese croissant I've ever had. They don't add any mustard or gimmicks and yet it is so flaky and savory that it doesn't need an extra dash of flavor. I know for a while they were making them smaller, but this time I came, I realized that the ham and cheese croissants are bigger than ever-which probably makes me think they've gone up in price, but I will happily pay the up charge for a little more. Now that I am older, and I have adult money, I find myself going in and trying one new item to add to my repertoire of treats. Today's new addition was the almond Bear-claw which I already had extremely high hopes for because I do love a good almond croissant, but I was a little worried what bear-claw meant. Truthfully, it just meant the shape of the pastry as it still had the classic buttery flaky crust, as well as a sweet almond interior. I was not disappointed! I did end up bringing home four ham and cheese croissants, an ambrosia roll for my dad, the almond Bear-claw, and two freshly made baguettes. I come home relatively frequently, but every time this bakery is added to my morning agenda, I realize I have such few moments left with my family, and I want to cherish them all and I love that ambrosia has been that tradition for us. I feel like most bakeries I go into in the city are mass produced and everyone is just trying to place orders and then rushing to get out the door, but ambrosia the workers really try to make you feel seen and have a way to uplifting conversation with you. Through all of the order, placing chaos, they're willing to explain what's in everything, what's new on the menu or what flavor profile would go with which handcrafted drink. There's a certain side of human conversation to this bakery that makes this visit extra special for me. I can sense everything is made overnight and then baked in the morning, so as soon as you walk in, you can smell an overwhelming bakery scent, which only makes your mouth water more, which I'm starting to think is actually a really strategic sales tactic! Haha! I would never miss a chance coming back here and spending time my parents and picking up a few surprise treat for them. I will keep the tradition of picking up a few extra treats as I would love for this bakery to continue being something my whole family can look forward to whenever I come home

I love that it is light, rich, but not overly sweet. I am a huge fan of chocolate mousse in cake and they have perfected it. And to top it off with the chocolate ganache... YUM! I told my husband it's probably the best birthday cake I've had and I hope he remembers that for next year. We also picked up some almond croissants and chocolate croissants and both were delish... to me they were a bit on the smaller side though. The cafe is really cute and clean with a sitting area. We came an hour before closing, so options were limited but they do have a big display case and would love to go back and check out what else they have to offer. I am a fan of flourless cake- so hoping to get to try a slice the next visit.

We walked in around 10:30AM on Saturday mor ing and were seated right away (in Lake Geneva I've waited as long as 45+ minutes for a table). This location is large with ample seating and huge windows that let a lot of light in. To drink, we ordered a Cortado and a cappuccino. For lunch we both ordered the combo, a half door county chicken melt and a bowl of chicken rice soup. We both thought the food tasted great but unfortunately it was served cold. I let the server know and she was apologetic and the cafe also sent me a message regarding my review. Exceptional customer service, will be back again!

Though it is a little more difficult to find than some of the other locations which are more visible off the main road, this parking lot setup is a bit more spacious than what I've seen at other locations. Service is fairly fast and friendly, and the dining room doesn't feel too cramped even when it's busy. In terms of food, the quality of cooking is similar to other Egg Harbor restaurants that I've reviewed. The cooking for me is a bit on the healthier side and I enjoy the flavor combinations that I get here. While there are some more adventurous savory and sweet options available, the standards are always done well here as well. Portion sizes are fairly good and presentation is pretty good as well. Maybe the only thing I'd like to see is a bit better execution on textures here. That is, crispy items should be more crispy -- fluffy items should be more fluffy. But this is probably a result of this restaurant usually being quite busy and therefore I might not be getting the food super fast when it's done cooking from the kitchen. Overall, if you're a fan of Egg Harbor restaurants, this location will serve up your usual favorites. Worth a visit if you're visiting anything in the area and have a craving for a delicious breakfast.
