Pancakes, Bacon, Eggs
Cameron B.

Was staying with some family in the area over Labor Day weekend and I was really craving a pancake so I was searching around and found this place. The portion was good, it was almost too much for me- two huge pancakes with some bacon and a few scrambled eggs. The service was ok, but nothing to write home about. Overall would definitely recommend coming here if you're craving some good breakfast.

My husband and I met some friends at Egg Harbor Cafe in Barrington. We were there on a Thursday around noon and there was a good crowd at the restaurant but we were still able to find a table that had plenty of room and where we could hear each other. This was a great chance to talk with our friends and catch up. I ordered the Strawberry Crunch French Toast (Challah Bread French Toast topped with house-made strawberry cream cheese, our gourmet Harbor granola, fresh strawberries and blueberries, and powdered sugar) with a side of pork sausage. The Strawberry Crunch French Toast tasted amazing. The different flavors all complimented each other. It was sweet without being too sweet. I also had the Brown Sugar Vanilla Harborccino to drink. Our server was very friendly. I highly recommend Egg Harbor Café!

Farmer's Market Benedict

My first visit to this cafe. It's very cute inside. Service was excellent. I ordered the Farmers Market eggs Benedict and an iced tea. It was just OK, nothing great, and I probably wouldn't go back and spend $26 for my breakfast again.

Three dark hair in my food and a couple small blond ones on the edge of the plate.

Ok... this is hard, my food was good and my service was excellent! BUT as you can see in the picture, there was a lot of hair in my food, my waitress was horrified and comp'd my food and they apologized.... I think this is a rarity here so I am going to give it four stars because if it weren't for the hair I'd give it five stars...

Caprice's toast was delicious
Jim K.

Had the traditional breakfast and cappuccino, caprice avocado toast which was delicious and well presented. The traditional was two eggs over medium, came a little less than medium, hash browns which was a mountain of potatoes. The bacon was crispy and the service was great, expensive for two, a little over 64 dollars prior to tip. I would not get the hash brown potatoes next time I would get the home potatoes

Geneva Rosti

Great food, service and experience! The Geneva Rosti is wonderful! This is a unique Swiss dish that they present perfectly.

Traditional Breakfast with the Maple Bourbon bacon. Eggs over easy, potatoes, and an English muffin.

I've never had a bad meal at Egg Harbor. I ordered the Door County Melt that is a fancy chicken salad kind of sandwich. It's my favorite. It comes with potatoes and a sm salad. Others in my party ordered the San Antonio Skillet and the Traditional breakfast with Maple Bourbon bacon. The food is always tasty, fresh and plentiful in size. The atmosphere is cozy and farm themed. It's a casual restaurant for people of all ages. The service was ok. I've had better service in the past. It could have been an "off" day for our server? We still like going to Egg Harbor Cafe as the food is quite excellent. See pics.

Good service and decent food in a casual breakfast place. Parking can be a bit of an issue. The breakfast potatoes were seriously undercooked but that's almost everywhere. At nearly $20/pp with coffee Egg Harbor is a bit pricey for what it is.

Garden scrambler

Sometimes I love it here and sometimes it's extremely mid. Sundays are hard because it's so busy and those are the days you want to skip going here. I got the garden scrambler and it was decent, but kind of flat. Drinks took forever and so did getting toast. They were busy though and other times when I come the food is great so I will continue to go lol

Iced tea

This restaurant was very good for lunch. The salad was fresh, the English muffin was perfect with melted butter. The iced tea was delicious! I appreciated the to go cup! Restaurant was bright and comfortable. Service was timely.

This particular location has been a common hang out place for my family and friends. The foods have always been good, and the staffs are always friendly and attentive even when they are busy. However, we were quite disappointed today with the food and the service. The restaurant was not overly busy when we were there. Food: Cream of Chicken Wild Rice Soup - it has always been our favorite, especially on a cold Fall day. We were so disappointed when the soups arrived - both cups were luke warm at best! We asked to warm it up, but it didn't come back until we were almost done with the main entrees. The temperature of the soup was warmer, but it was very salty. Other food that we order was ok. It seemed that they have been sitting for a while before serving to us. Service: I was quite surprised by the service today. Aside from the first interaction with the wait staff on taking order and getting the check , we have to call our wait staff about the soups (luke warm) and then follow up to ask if the soups were ready (if not, we were going to cancel then). There was never a check-in in between. So I wasn't sure if it was because we asked to warm up the soup, or something we did. We saw the wait staffs attending the tables around us but never stopped at our table.

Bacon burnt on edges but raw in the center.

She was friendly and great at recommending dishes. The busboy (we didn't catch his name) was positive and attentive. The staff really make the spot wonderful. It's modern inside, dark paint, and updated decor. However it feels friendly with the trendy atmosphere. The way these dishes look also match the ambiance at the restaurant. We ordered lots of dishes and they mostly looked great! The Salat Roasted Beet Salad is fruity, thanks to the berries and citrus, with a pistachio whip on the bottom of the dish. It's a heavier dish for a salad, but absolutely delicious and fruity. I also had the San Francisco Style Cioppino was good, but I wasn't expecting it to be like a zupa di pesci, while the flavor was good, I was having FOMO of others eating monkfish and the walleye. The Cioppino had a Louisiana flavored sauce. There was a variety of fish which were all cooked and not overdone. It's a massive dish! We finished off with English Sticky Toffee Pudding and Italian Citrus Mascarpone Cake. The cake was amazing! It wasn't too tart and light. The sticky pudding was also delicious and very sweet. It's a very beautiful restaurant, service is great, the plates look amazing and tastes great. It's definitely a spot to try again!

Husband loved his fried chicken that had nice, thick bacon on top. Fries were hot and salted nicely. Truffle fries weren't much different than regular fries in flavor with just a subtle seasoning on top. Salad was a miss with only 3-4 small pieces of chicken on top. The Chicken tenders came out looking burnt and cooked in old oil. We expressed our concern to the waitstaff, and they were kind enough to bring us another batch. The main…read morereception hall features a large stone window behind the wedding party table, and there is a patio just outside that overlooks the water, which makes for a gorgeous setting. While Wild Onion is clearly a great venue for events, it is also a restaurant and brewery, so I am focusing this review more on the food and dining experience. We ate here for my cousin's wedding rehearsal dinner and were seated in a red carpeted room connected to the main reception hall. Unfortunately, this space felt out of place compared to the rest of the venue. It did not match the elegant vibe of the main hall and was a bit dark and dingy, which was somewhat off-putting at first. Service-wise, our waitress was wonderful. She was sweet, personable, and had a fun, upbeat personality that helped improve the overall experience right at the beginning. For my meal, I ordered the Kickin' Chicken Sandwich ($17). It is a hand-breaded chicken breast topped with honey garlic sauce, pepper jack cheese, bacon, chipotle mayo, and fried jalapenos. The sandwich had a really nice balance of flavors and was easy to eat, but despite the name, it was not spicy at all. I enjoyed it, though I did find the portion a bit small, and it did not fill me up. I chose cheese curds as my side, and those were a highlight. They were crispy, flavorful, and absolutely delicious. Also, because I am currently pregnant, I had an absolutely delicious mocktail. I sadly don't remember the name of the one I ordered, but I am here to say that it had a good balance of flavors. Overall, Wild Onion has a large menu with a wide variety of options, along with many different side choices, some for an additional charge. There truly is something for everyone. While the rehearsal dinner space itself was not ideal, the food, service, and overall selection still made for a positive experience.

Having lived in the Chicago area for many years, I've visited just about every restaurant that has opened over the years. I've also been to KBBQ several times for dinner and even left a review when they first re-opened. However, today was my first time trying their lunch menu, and I was genuinely impressed. Unlike dinner time, the bright daylight streaming through the windows illuminated every corner of the restaurant, making it easy to notice how clean and well-maintained the space is. Honestly, if there had been any signs of poor hygiene that I might have missed during dinner visits, I would have noticed them right away. But there was absolutely nothing to find! From the moment we walked in, the staff greeted us so warmly that we almost felt like we were being welcomed by old friends. They even looked around to find us a more comfortable seat and ended up giving us a great spot. Everyone was friendly, attentive, and happy to explain the menu in detail. Today we ordered spicy cod fish stew, grilled mackerel and a spicy squid stone pot bibimbap... I wasn't particularly hungry :) since I had eaten breakfast not too long before, but as someone who believes in never skipping a meal, I picked up my spoon and chopsticks anyway. Well... my chopsticks got lost along the way. The six side dishes (banchan) completely stole my attention. Every single one tasted like something my grandmother would have lovingly prepared years ago. They were comforting, authentic, and absolutely delicious. The spicy cod stew, grilled mackerel and a spicy squid stone pot bibimbap were outstanding. Especially the cod was so fresh and thick that I found myself wondering, "Is this really cod?" The flaky white fish was incredibly tender, the shrimp, and other ingredients just as fresh. The spicy squid pot bibimbap was perhaps the best of all! I jokingly asked if they had a reservoir hidden behind the restaurant because everything tasted like it had just been caught that morning! Of course, great food is the most important thing, but I truly believe the warm smiles from the staff and the spotless dining environment made the meal even more enjoyable. KBBQ is one of those rare places where excellent food and genuine hospitality come together. It feels less like a restaurant and more like visiting your grandmother's house for a wonderful home-cooked meal. I'll definitely be coming back more often in the future. Highly recommended!

Also, the banchan is unlimited and you also get Korean stew with the bbq. Popcorn dumplings were nice and crispy. It's also moist and succulent inside when you bite into it. The steamed egg was delicious. The bbq meat was great. I liked that there was more meat than bone for the galbi. I recommend getting the tofu soup with galbi meat.
