My morning glory muffin and a perfect honey bee latte.
Kathy K.

Plenty of seating indoors and out for coffee lovers and those who love us! I was meeting a friend staying in the area, and I wanted an independently-owned coffee shop. No shade to the corporate big names, but the local shop is what I love. Cook Street is a Conscious Cup cafe - a personal favorite in my own hometown. This location didn't disappoint. Friendly service, great coffee, and a wonderful vibe. Very demure. Very mindful. We snagged a spot outside, nice tables and chairs with shade umbrellas for those of us who want fresh air with limited UV exposure.

Cook Street Coffee in Barrington is apart of the Conscious Cup group. This was my first time being to the shop since they expanded to the space next door and renovated. Previously, the shop ended where the coffee counter stops. It was great to see the addition of seating (tables, banquets, lounge chairs, sofas, decor) to mimic some of their other locations and allow patrons to enjoy drinks there. My absolute favorite drink is the Honey Lavender Latte Iced. They use fresh lavender and local honey to flavor the drink and it really pulls through! I also got a savory scone which was quite large and tasty. Unfortunately when I came, the staff was overwhelmed with the influx of people so they were temporarily not making any of their breakfast sandwiches. This was definitely a disappointment but hopefully with time they will balance out staffing knowing people can come to work and meet up with friends. Overall, I love what they've done to update the space and add a sense of comfort. I highly recommend stopping by when in the area for a yummy drink! You won't be disappointed.

First time at this place a very chill vibe clean spacious and relaxing. The ladies behind the counter were very laid back and did not rush me at all and answered all my questions and gave me suggestions as well. Will definitely be back . Had the spicy avocado panini ( it's called something elsen) very well made and tasty . Also has the Denver Dave very light but filling little sandwich. Great little spot

Big fan of this spot! I was here with a friend on a Friday morning and it was nice to see this place kept consistently busy. We ordered at the front counter and the staff member was friendly and helpful. I meant to order the spiced chai however I probably misspoke and ended up with a regular chai latte (oat milk) instead. It was very good! Flavors were strong and not too heavy on the oat milk. I wanted to try a breakfast sandwich but ended up with a spinach, bacon and cheese scone. They were short staffed and decided to not make sandwiches because of that. No problem! The scone was delicious - thankfully they were on display and we were able to pick which 1 we wanted. A few of them looked slightly overcooked so we stayed clear of those. There is so much natural sunlight coming in and numerous spots to sit or lounge - high tops, standard seating, bench seating by the windows and lazy boys/couches. They also have a few outdoor tables/seats. This is a great spot for a coffee date, huddle up with your laptop or read a book. Cook Street Coffee gives off a very relaxing and welcoming vibe. I'm excited to coming back and try other items on their menu soon. :)

Cook Street Coffee, also known as Conscious Cup Coffee Roasters, was a great experience. The atmosphere was cozy yet spacious, and the staff was super sweet/helpful. My Dad loved his hot Cafe Mocha, he actually said it's the best he's had in a while. I also enjoyed my Iced Chai. We will be back!

My drink was sooo good. It's just pricey which is usually expected for a coffee shop. The staff are very friendly :)

Really cute coffee shop in a nice location. Typical coffee shop vibe. I ordered lavender honey latte - however it didn't taste good. And for the price - it's more than Starbucks, I would expect something better. Staff was nice there though. Might come back and give it another try sometime.

Iced Vanilla late and my charcharms cup!!

Came here on the last nice day of the year! Got a delish vanilla late and sat outside. They have a bunch of outdoor seating and a good amount of inside seating as well. Good prices, good pastries, great coffee :) highly recommend

Rich and intense flavors. Top notch…read more I was in the area and some recommended checking it out. I'm not normally a fan of pastries or baked sweets in general. I got a box of assorted pastries to bring home and each one was incredible. My kids didn't like any of them... but ambrosia won me over. This is a refined place. The flavors are classic and textures are notable. Rich dark chocolate, real strawberry cream, flaky and intentionally packed with texture. No candy flavors or artificial stuff. Each item seemed like it was expertly crafted from a 150 year old recipe. This is a trek for me, and I'd happily make a morning trip to come here again.

I love that it is light, rich, but not overly sweet. I am a huge fan of chocolate mousse in cake and they have perfected it. And to top it off with the chocolate ganache... YUM! I told my husband it's probably the best birthday cake I've had and I hope he remembers that for next year. We also picked up some almond croissants and chocolate croissants and both were delish... to me they were a bit on the smaller side though. The cafe is really cute and clean with a sitting area. We came an hour before closing, so options were limited but they do have a big display case and would love to go back and check out what else they have to offer. I am a fan of flourless cake- so hoping to get to try a slice the next visit.

Their menu offers a favorite of coffee, teas, and sandwiches for food. Note that all syrups flavors are pumps over homemade. I was between some items but the staff member highly recommended the seasonal Pumpkin, Brown Sugar Shaken Espresso (med- 20oz). I changed the milk to oatmilk ($1 upcharge) and my total was $9.30. This is a bit pricey for how much I like to spend on coffee out but the flavor was amazing! A bit sweet but I found myself continuously going back for another sip. I would certainly come back for their seasonal offerings but couldn't sustain visiting sadly on a regular cadence. Either way, stop by Pepper Park Coffee to give them a try!

Date of visit: September 11, 2025…read more I had to drop a friend off down the street for a procedure and this seemed like the perfect place to hang out and get some work done while he was in with the doctor. They offered Wifi and a nice, varied menu with both bakery items and fun coffee drinks (what else is there to ask for?). Dessert first, because life is short: I went with a donut. I believe it was an old-fashioned sour cream, but not entirely sure as there was no sign indicating exactly what it was, but it was quite good and reminded me of the ones I have had from Kwik Trip (this is high praise!). My friend let me try a bite of the pumpkin roll/loaf I got for him and I agree that it was a tad dry but the cream cheese helped offset that. Suspect it was better in the morning but had been sitting out all day and got dry by 230 in the afternoon. For coffee, I went with the Pumpkin Cold Brew, which was quite tasty and the Roadmaster panini, which was also pretty good. I did not get asked what side I wanted and was given chips, though I was able to swap them for another flavor that I preferred, so that was nice. All in all, a solid little coffee or lunch spot!
