Just okay. Good size portions. No kick to their salsas which is something I expect from a Mexican restaurant. Staff friendly enough but no very attentive. The carnitas are not carnitas but are more like chili verde. Carnitas are not supposed to come with sauce on them. Sister had the fajita trio and she was happy with it. First time in Jacksonville, NC. Took a chance on this establishment for the street corn and pulled chicken sopes. I also ordered the marinated flank plate. The food did not disappoint. The flavors are genuine and the best part, nothing was over salted. I cannot emphasize enough how important it is for well seasoned food to not be over salted. The salsa tasted delicious as well, definitely made on sight and went well on bites of food. The service was pretty fast and friendly. I did not feel rushed to order or leave when I completed my meal. The intermittent check ups from the waitress were just enough to get through my meal and not bothersome. The I sat by the bar. I did appreciate that the paint color and decorations were not over done. The music was on point as I am hispanic myself and enjoyed it. Good day folks. I recently moved to the area and was completely lost when it came to the restaurants and food available in the area. I asked a lot of people there opinions on this restaurant and that restaurant. I've tried a couple and some were pretty good. This restaurant is the best I've had I. A long time. I was born and raised in California and have had a lot of Mexican food, in fact it's probably my favorite cuisine. Unfortunately since moving from California years ago I haven't been able to find that restaurant that really compares. Until Now. Not only is the food amazing but the portions and the prices are great. So far I've been there twice in one week and Both times was amazing. The food was not good. The chimichangas were not of good quality. I got the simple basic just beef. The cheese dip is so thick and does not taste like normal Mexican cheese dip. It taste out of a can. The salsa is bland. Music sounds like you are in a club. While shopping in the area we became very famished and options were few in an area saturated with fast food chains. We stumbled upon this restaurant and were in luck for the $1 Taco Tuesday Bar ! We decided on the Gringo and mexican tacos. Al Pastor, shredded chicken and beef. Our waitress was Karen who was friendly and explained everything. We headed over to the live bar where a young man in a large colorful Gucci colored sombrero served the tacos of our choice. There was a separate station for toppings. If you're expecting American style tacos you'll have to go to Taco Bell. There is no American cheese or sour cream. Expect fresco style. For $27 for 3 people we ordered tacos, drinks, tortilla chips, guacamole and churros for dessert. An exceptional value for family dinner ! The tortilla chips were delicious here ! Crisp and fresh ! The churros were also freshly fried and soooo delicious. Perfect presentation with the different flavored dipping sauces. Raspberry being my favorite. The decor was very modern mixed with authentic old school mexican. Very nice touch ! Lots of flat screens and seating. The Latin music was very relaxing. Just not good. they messed up my order, it was cold, which I didn't want it anymore but they still charged me(which is what ever) corn tortillas taste really bad. it took 20 mins to get a check and the place was basically empty. One, the place is clean. Bathrooms and all. We were greeted at the door quickly. There was no wait and sat immediately. The waiter was straight up and could explain the menu well. The drinks were strong and well prepared. We had a mix of margaritas. The sweet tea was also great. The service was great throughout. The food was hot and prepared great. The bathrooms were clean as well here. The waiter took our orders and I watched him write it down. The only issue I have is I asked for no lettuce on the tacos and no beans. I got lettuce and beans. I ate it still. It was good but the meat was a bit dry. Now to my taste the rice had a lot of sweetness to it. The enchilada with red sauce was decent but the sauce was very sweet for me. Their house made hot sauce is perfect. It will burn you up if not careful. Worth it though. There were four of us and all others were very happy with their food. I would ask the cooks pay more attention to the tickets submitted. I'll be back and hopefully it will go a bit better. read more

What a find. I was in Jacksonville for work. It was getting ready to storm so we decided to find a place to eat and happened upon this restaurant. Friendly staff, great customer service, clean restaurant. Their extensive menu was well thought out with a variety of protein and veggies. They do bring chips and dip to the table. I ordered the lunch shrimp fajitas. My coworker ordered a burrito. Both were fresh, light and tasty. My shrimp fajitas portion was a nice size for lunch. read more

From the hand-fried tortilla chips and homemade, roasted tomato salsa, to the Coctel de Camarones and lard-y, pork-a-licious refried beans - everything tasted vibrant and well seasoned. The shrimp cocktail was absolutely loaded with medium sized shrimp and featured fresh cilantro, avocado and onions, all swimming in a rich, thick tomato sauce. We have never eaten here before. My husband is from Mexico so he very critical of Mexican food. He loved everything. He got a Sope and said he's never had a Sope this good since Mexico City. The food was really good coming from someone who grew up eating a lot of Mexican food this place is very authentic and the vibes in there are very welcoming. The service was a little backed up because it got pretty busy on a Sunday but the food definitely made up for it. The starter chips and salsa were some of the best I've had, very fresh. I started with the street corn and it was so yummy I ordered a second one! For my meal I ordered a regular cheese quesadilla because I'm a picky eater and I think it could've been better for a Mexican restaurant but it was decent, the cheese they used inside was a little weird though. Both of my parents enjoyed their meals and it was all very cheap! The total for 3 meals and drinks only added up to about $50.
