There really isn't anything to not love about Plaza del Mariachi. There is something so beautiful about the interior of this place and the portions are generous. We came for dinner one night with a large group, so service was slower but our server was really sweet and accommodating. The music is loud and lively, so this is something to consider if you're wanting to hold conversation. The salsa and chips are great - we couldn't stop eating them! I am a sucker for tacos and the Al Pastor tacos did not disappoint! Rice and beans were amazing too. The monster blackberry margarita is so good - get it! My husband got a huge beer for $10 as well. First time here, walked into "La Plaza Del Mariachi" to LOUD and THUMPING music, NOT AT ALL the atmosphere expected. I mentioned the loud music but that did not help. We couldn't even hear the young lady welcoming us. We were seated promptly even though they were busy. A different lady came by slamming menus and salsa down before walking away without speaking. You have to try this dish,"ACP!" With chicken only, or the trio, with chicken, steak and shrimp. It has rice with a cheese mixed in, and onions and peppers. Then it's topped with a white cheese melted to perfection! Here's the thing though, the plate must have been 14 inches, and so full of all of that good food, that I think they purposely fill your plate so that you have to take a ,"people bag" home Reasonable too! The only thing is, it's best to pay with cash, otherwise you will pay almost $3 for use of a card, and we don't want to mess with the servers tips. Oh and before you go, build those muscles up, cause that plate is heavy! There were three of us, and those plates were so heavy that a tall young man had to bring them out, I am not kidding. We always stop in when we are passing through the area, usually for lunch and the food and service is always very good. As a last minute thing we decided to go to dinner, we drove the 50 minutes, when we arrived the parking lot was full, we found a spot and went inside. The place was packed and rocking, we put our name on the list and but decided to leave because the music was just too loud for us. When my husband told the hostess we were leaving the manager Oswaldo, was standing there, he followed us out and asked what our issue was, we told him and he asked if we would like to eat outside, we said the music was still too loud, he said he would take care it and went inside and turned it down. Oswaldo provided the best customer service we've had in a very long time, he understands and appreciates his customers. Our waitress was great and food was as usual excellent. We love coming here, but the last time we were here I was walking out of the restroom and I saw one of their male workers walking out of the male bathroom with his purple gloves STILL ON HIS HANDS then go straight back into the kitchen... I had trouble breathing after trying to finish the meal and could not finish it. The service was good for me. I came alone so I was seated quickly.
