My husband , brother & I came here to eat tonight. We each got one margarita ( they barely drank their second ) and my husband threw up in the restaurant bathroom before leaving, brother threw up as soon as we got home and now im in bed not feeling good. I lived in San Diego for a while so I've eaten plenty of legit Mexican food. THERE IS a difference in East and West coast Mexican food and I like both for what they are. That said this place had a LEGIT California Burrito! This is only the second place outside of the West Coast I've had a Cali burrito that didn't make me wish I'd ordered something else. The burrito was MASSIVE. I should have stopped at about half of it but I ate the entire burrito! The steak was tasty the fries were delicious the guacamole was excellent just a tad of.lettuce some beans and rice...and cheese! Awesomeness! Chips were warm, fresh and crispy. Salsa was plentiful. They brought the salsa out to refill the bowls in a drink pitcher! Salsa was not hot and not too mild. Nothing to rave about but good enough I ate waay to much of it! Stopped here after church. Usually I do a super detailed review but I was too busy slamming mexican food to take a bunch of pictures. 36oz beer for $6.50, cheap prices, good food. The staff was very attentive and I never felt like I was waiting on them (with the exception of getting the check, which the waitress apologized for because she got slammed with tables). We came in and the "specials" board had Birria pizza $14.00 I asked the waiter what it was and I ordered it to share with my friend because he said it was huge and we each had weight loss surgery. It came we ate it and the bill came and it was $25.00. I told the waiter instead of walking him to the board I let him go check himself. He came back with a picture of an erased board he took with his cellphone It was colored marker and you could see the smear where the colored chalk was next to the birria pizza. 10/10 This week, I had been craving Carne asada fries. Very desperately, since I had been in the field and was forced to eat mres. Anyways, I just came back and I knew that my first meal was going to be Carne asada fries. Google recommended me this spot so I called, which, the lady who picked up was extremely nice and had great attitude. I came a little late to pick up my food,but by the time I got there it was still hot and the waitress made my drink on the spot so that it was fresh! Not only that,when I arrived there, everyone was so nice and they even greeted me so happily. It was a very nice and clean environment. The food and the horchata we're amazing ! My family has been coming here since they opened. The staff is hardworking and friendly and the owner is often there lending a hand and making sure everything runs smoothly. The outside is deceiving as t the restaurant doesn't look like much, but once your inside you stop tart to get the feel of a legit Mexican restaurant. The food was delicious, my wife ordered the pick 3 combo enchiladas and LOVED them, I had the chills verde that wasn't Chile verde at all but still delicious. I never stopped in as I have my own favorite Mexican restaurant but took a side trip and came in. I was immediately impressed by the size. From the outside it didn't look like it could accommodate many people. I was immediately welcomed and seated. Chips a nd drinks were promptly brought to the table and my food was out 10 mins after I placed the order. I even order elite which is hard to find in Jacksonville. The food was on par with the best mexican restaurants in the area and I will put this place in my rotation next to my favorite. read more

Would give this place a zero if I could. One of the worst "Mexican" restaurants in Jacksonville. We order the Nacho Supreme which were soggy and had beef that seemed to be from Taco Bell. We ordered the tortilla soup which was terrible and had no chicken in it and the tortillas they threw in there were soggy and disgusting. Went in searching for a tamale that would compare, or even come close to my favorite place in Mexican Town in Detroit. I ordered the "Special Dinner" which was a taco, tostada, tamale, enchilada, and chile relleno with rice and beans. Pretty much everything was covered in enchilada sauce and melted yellow cheese (blahhh). The tamale was like eating pancake batter (minus the sugar) with a chunk of chicken inside. Not what I was expecting, that's for sure. The food wasn't terrible, but it wasn't authentic. Very Americanized. This is as good as it gets for a Mexican Restaurant in Jacksonville! We've been to the other Mexican places in Jacksonville and this is at the top of our list. My wife and two year old son were seated immediately upon getting to the restaurant. The waiter was very friendly and hospitable however he spoke limited English. Our order came out very quickly and was exactly as we ordered it. The prices were great and very reasonable. The food was tasty and well spiced. The restaurant seemed dated in it's decor, however it was well maintained and was very clean. Despite minor flaws, I rate this restaurant a 5. Compared to the other Mexican places in Jacksonville, this restaurant has the best taste, convenience, prices, and overall value. My wife and I will definitely be eating here again. This is the best Mexican restaurant I've ever been to! My family goes whenever we're in Jacksonville. I discovered guacamole for the first time here, and now I can't get enough of it! They also have the best salsa of any restaurant I've ever tasted--not too spicy, not too sweet. I get something different every time I go in, and I've never been disappointed. Decided to try a new place with friends in town. Was recommended by a friend. From the jump our waitress took 15 minutes to even take our drink order. By the time she brought the drinks, we were ready to order but waited another 10 minutes for waitress to come back.
