Awesome Decor in there and it is really loud. We started off with the Texas Twinkles and that will be 1 and done for us. When you bit into it, it was cold and everyone loves crispy bacon and I know how hard it is when it's wrapped around something and not cooked properly. Enchilada Bang Bang wasn't bad and the fajitas were really good. When bringing an appetizer to the table make sure you bring plates and put the plates in front of the customer instead of at the end of the table. We asked for a chips and salsa refresher but did not get those and overall especially for Dayton this was way overpriced. read more

Here's a Mexican restaurant that is not the typical plain Mexican place. It's much better! It starts with the wonderful decor, the restaurant is adorned with creative artistic paintings. When we sat down chips & salsa arrived. The chips were ok, seemed pretty standard but the salsa was not our favorite. Within minutes after ordering, the guacamole cart arrived and she prepared a bowl of guacamole for us. It made up for the salsa and then some. We both loved it! I had the shrimp chipotle. It came with rice and a small salad. The chipotle sauce was different, delicious and made my dish something special. It was exceptionally good. Just delicious! My SO has the camarones especial. Shrimp in a white cheese sauce with white rice and a salad. Again, different, delicious and made the dish something special. As Arnold said, 'I'll be back!' This was an unbelievable experience! I knew when I saw the menu that my son and I were in for a treat. The taco selection alone is eye popping. Bone broth tacos , really? The servers were gracious and constantly moving with plates of exceptional food. I ordered the molcajete and it's enough to feed a family of four. The meat is tender and perfectly spiced. Walk in & the music & art is great. That's where the positive review stops. The staff were nice. The food was mediocre at best. My taco disintegrated after one bite. The chicken was over cooked. Son wouldn't eat it! Maybe taste is subjective but the prices were not! WAY over priced!! I'm not buying a frozen anything for $16-18 unless I'm in New Orleans. 2 entrees with no alcohol should not be $50 at a Mexican restaurant. I'll pay for good food, this is not good food. The Bomb Tuna was delicious. The Serrano were just the right amount of heat to match the flavors. Five stars. Burritos Verde also 5/5. The verde sauce was one of the best I've had. This was a really great find! Several things made this restaurant very nice. To start, the decor and atmosphere was very well done and extremely clean. Next, encountered were all very friendly and made me feel very welcome, including my waiter who was very attentive during my meal. After hearing such great review, I was excited to patronize and support. My experience was anything but great. Upon arrival (7:30 pm), we were seated and they didn't take our drink order for 15-20 minutes and they didn't return with them for another 15-20 minutes. We ordered our food and it took another 45-55 minutes to receive it. A drink that was ordered(alcoholic) was late coming and was returned due to quality. Management came to table w a nonchalant attitude. He did however, assure to remove beverag from bill. I made him aware of the wait time and he laughed and said "It's taco Tuesday, we have a birthday party." Meaning, the birthday party takes precedence and anyone else here had to wait until we took care of the party. No customer service skills whatsoever.They didn't take the drink off until I said the bill was wrong and they charged me for sour cream and tomatoes and the waitress said it was complementary. Now I know sometimes roaches just are present, and restaurants have to actively fight them off. But this was different. My son saw it first and alerted me to its presence as it was crawling towards him on the back of the booth seat. He then went to go alert an employee. Once she got there, 4 things happened. She grabbed the roach. They made eye contact. She looked at her hand. She dropped the roach on the floor and walked away. My son had to step on the roach himself as it was crawling back towards the table. Also, the actual prices did not match the menu prices and we ended up paying about 10 dollars more than expected before the tip. About 68 dollars for two fajitas and two lemonades. read more

We eventually flagged down the manager for the bill. Well 20 minutes later he has not shown back up with the check. Going to the front desk to see if we can finally leave. Horrible experience! Let's start with the " owner" telling my boyfriend that he had onions in his burrito, when he didn't see or taste any. The waiter assured him, there would be a discount and the manager/owner said there was nothing to discount as he saw the cook put onions on the grill when making the burrito. Not to mention, there was a large group in the restaurant yelling, cursing and it was way too noisy for the restaurant to have been open to other patrons. The owner proceeded to tell me that they spent a lot of money, so he couldn't control the noise. I expressed my frustration and he didn't give a damn, so I won't be back ever again. I don't patronize businesses that treat customers according to how much money they're spending. Sadly, if I had been another color, the outcome would've been way different. I usually go to El Toro and I absolutely love them. My boyfriend wanted the cheesesteak burrito, so we chose El Rancho Grande. I told him, we are never going back there, again. I've been here several times, and the food is always pretty good. Last time, I got Fajitas del Mar, which was great. I never leave any food on the plate, yet I could only eat half my meal, which means I took the rest home, and will get two meals of Fajitas del Mar. One weird thing is that they only provide enough tortillas with the fajitas to eat about one-third of the fajita filling. I had to ask for more, as there's no way to put that massive amount of food into four tortilla shells. One other person I was with got chimichangas, or at least, that's what she ordered, but not what she got. There are two main features that distinguish chimichangas from other similar Mexican food: (1) the filled tortilla is folded into a rectangular package and (2) the folded tortilla is then deep fried. The "chimichangas" had neither feature. They were basically enchiladas, but instead of enchilada sauce, had a white cheese sauce (really? cheese sauce? not even real cheese?). After we complained to the server, the server didn't try to fix the situation at all. There wasn't anything terrible about the "chimichangas", but they weren't chimichangas, despite what the menu says. I wouldn't come back if I didn't like it, but just know that there are a couple of minor issues that keep me from rating this restaurant higher. read more

This is how I find new Mexican restaurants. My usual favorite is closed on Holidays, so I found my second favorite. Which was carryout only these days. Yelp led me to El Rancho Grande, whose FB page assured us they were open for dine-in! Super thankful for restaurants who are allowing dine in. The parking lot was packed! We were seated immediately. Tables were clearly spaced at an appropriate distance. We've been to several restaurants since the re-opening, but this was the first to use contact-free menus. Super simple. I already had the QR Reader app on my iPad, and the menu popped up instantly, and was as easy to go through as a hard copy menu- maybe easier! Our waiter was very attentive and helpful with menu questions. We ordered a small pitcher of Top Shelf margaritas- plenty for two. A good margarita- a little sweeter than typical. Before we went, looking at menu photos, I guessed, based on the photo, that a burrito might be small, as we'd just experienced at a different restaurant. Was I WRONG. The Ranchero burrito spanned the plate diagonally, and was the usual large burrito size. Plenty. My partner had ordered the burrito, but I had a taste- excellent ranchero sauce. I ordered pork tameles, Supreme. They were excellent. Very thick masa. Three tamales- I was stuffed. The chips and salsa were good. Nice and fresh. There were plenty of menu items I'd like to try in the future! I think El Rancho Grande has become our back-up!! read more

I love that they opened out here in Huber Heights because I frequented the UD location. This is authentic Mexican food. My go to the chicken street tacos!!! Most people don't know authentic tacos are not prepared with cheese....chicken, onions, cilantro and (I'm not sure how to spell but pronounced "tapateo" sauce. Really elegant place. Service was excellent. Delicious frozen margaritas. Although, the chicken taco salad was soggy. The street tacos were regular sized tacos making three for lunch way too much, but also providing me the opportunity to save my husband from his soggy taco salad by sharing an extra delicious carnitas taco. As one who has the anti-cilantro gene, the table salsa was delicious, the guacamole was pushing the cilantro load, and the sauce for the street tacos seemed to be a red liquified condensed cilantro broth. The margaritas get 5 stars, the ambiance 5stars, the menu, which is of epic proportion, seemed overwhelming. Service 5 stars. Carnitas were the big winner with 5 stars. read more

At a different location of this restaurant, our food comes almost too quickly after we order; there's no time to enjoy chips, salsa and your margarita. Today took forever and my partner's food was cold. She sent it back and they microwaved it, but the poblano in her Chile Rellano was still not cooked all the way through. Even after being nuked. My pork was dry and my beans were cold, but complaining would have made the pork more dry. The margaritas were weird too. I had a frozen that didn't want to melt. When it finally did, there was a weird aftertaste to it. So we can cross this location of our list.
