If you are vegan or have severe food allergies, THINK TWICE before coming because they may get your order wrong no matter what you tell them. My parents come here often and I tried it for the first time tonight. Major issues. I asked if the soft serve margarita had dairy (I'm vegan) and if the beans had lard. The waitress didn't seem to understand what I asked, so she brought over another waitress. The other waitress simply said "I don't think so", I need a definite yes or no. She would not even go check or ask. I ordered the veggie fajitas. NO sour cream and NO cheese. It came with both. When I asked them to correct it, they brought out a different kind of beans containing meat (which was mixed into everything) and the fajitas even had a piece of chicken (which I can usually ignore but it genuinely felt personal). I'm not usually someone to complain. If you look at my other reviews, they are fairly positive. However this pissed me off. I would be fine if it was just a translation issue, I understand. However the number of things that occurred was unacceptable. And "I don't know" is not acceptable to someone with an actual allergy. That being said. I wasn't sure about this place because it's so wacky and over the top but sometimes that's exactly what you need. They had great chips and salsa. The drinks came in a cute presentation. It came with snacks for each drink. And it had fireworks! The menu is massive! So be careful with choice overload. You could be looking at that for 20 minutes. Yelp helps find winners. We wanted Mexican, but wanted a new spot. So YELP to the rescue and what a great establishment El Asadero is. Yes they have a lunch menu, OLE!! The burrito was delicious, the salad with the taco bowl (even better) and the service was great. Both were good and delightfully devoured during our stay. The attention to ambiance is really cool, some unique floral arrangements and then graffiti on the wall, makes for an interesting atmosphere that works. This place is huge so tons of space for groups and the price is friendly. It's a great find and for sure worthy of multiple visits. read more

El Asadero is always crowded when we drive by, and we were finally able to give it a try. The inside is huge, basically two separate dining areas. The decor is bright neon and graffiti style. The music is upbeat. It's almost like restaurant meets techno rave. The menu is huge, but sections are broken down by protein to make it a bit more digestible. After lots of debate, we settled on the birria quesadillas and the classic arroz con pollo. The food came out really quick, probably under 10 minutes. The birria quesadillas were out of this world and the consomé broth was delicious. The arroz con pollo was just as expected from a flavor standpoint, but we felt the portion was smaller than we've had at other Mexican restaurants. Luckily, we were able to fill up on the free chips and salsa beforehand so it wasn't a huge deal -- we were just hoping to take some for leftovers! The service was good and we really enjoyed the food. It's a bit on the pricier side for other similar restaurants, but that wouldn't stop us from visiting again. read more

Know what you are getting into before you go!! This place is loud. There's a light and dance show. There were multiple times during our dinner we had to stop talking because we couldn't hear each other. The decor is cool but it's all designed around the black lights and pumping music and robot dance show. That said, our experience wasn't a lot better. Our server didn't say she was new but she was quite forgetful. The salsa is not homemade or fresh and it's super thick. The cheese sauce was below average. The chips are super thick and we never got a refill. Drinks. A pitcher of margaritas is $32 so I opted for a single $12 one, pictured. I lost a lot of volume with ice. It was so crowded one Friday night the wait was over an hour so I came back at lunchtime. The fajitas were sizzling and tender. The ingredients were fresh and flavorful. Nothing too fancy, just good food. The atmosphere is neon colors and murals throughout. Sometimes they come out with a noisemaker and snare drum to celebrate occasions for guests and sing happy birthday. Mexican street corn was old and hard We got one refil of a water the entire dinner. No marinara with cheese sticks even though they offer pizza for kids. Wanted to order a margarita but she never came back. Service was terrible. Had to keep getting up and asking the host for things we needed. Some days they play a drum and fly out a plane for a birthday patron! They were busy, but did a good job of keeping up with everything! The place was very festive on the inside with paintings/murals and I really liked the vibe/festiveness of it all! Drinks looked really unique and festive as well! Not great...I really wanted to like this restaurant but my empanadas lacked flavor. My food tasted like it had been in the oil for far too long because that's all I could taste...old oil. The very large mural and very garnished cocktails added to the festive ambiance! The only reason I didn't add a fifth star was our cocktails. We ordered top shelf Don Julio margaritas, which were ridiculously sweet and light on alcohol. We ordered side shots of Don Julio to try and balance the cocktails, helped a bit. I have been a regular customer at this location for years. Today I had the tamales chingones and they were amazing! But beware, this place turns off the lights and a light up robot and Mickey Mouse come out to dance. They blare the music for 10-15 minutes and it just keeps going. Not sure we didn't get overcharged, but we also did not receive an itemized receipt. It just had the total. The greeter was not friendly . We won't go back. We can go to El Rancho , El Toro , Los Reyes...Elsa's......and get good food and not be out over 50 dollars for lunch!! Ask for an itemized receipt if the cost of your meal seems too high. Just read T's review. She had a wonderful lunch with her son. They also had tacos . She received an itemized receipt for 30 dollars. Ours was 55 dollars. Buyer beware at Centerville Ohio location. Good things first, My margarita was super. Food presentation was great. The restaurant is attractive and has an upbeat feel. But what good are those things if the entree was subpar and service was indifferent? I ordered the Rib Eye Salad. The main part of the salad is the meat. It was full of gristle/tendon! I should have sent in back after the first couple of bites. I didn't and ended up with a pile of partially chewed beef strips on my plate. I pointed it out to the waitress who just kind of shrugged.
